Unethical Billing & Contract Practices – Debt Collection Without Consent
I had a very troubling experience with ViewQwest.
After completing my 24-month broadband contract (fully paid), ViewQwest unilaterally scheduled a new subscription in their system without my knowledge or consent. I did not update my credit card, nor did I agree to any recontract. Despite this, I started receiving payment reminders for a new plan I never signed up for.
Eventually, they terminated my service, which I assumed was the end of the issue. But shockingly, I later received a letter from a debt collection agency (Singapore Commercial Credit Bureau) demanding payment (Case No. 2510004084) with interest and threats of publishing the debt information all for a contract I had clearly rejected and never used.
If that wasn’t enough, ViewQwest then reactivated my broadband service without my request, likely in an attempt to justify billing me for a recontracted term I never agreed to. I’ve since had to dispute this in writing, involve consumer regulators, and protect myself from potential credit damage, all because of their internal system’s "auto-renewal" practices and lack of consent protocols.
I strongly caution others considering ViewQwest to read the fine print and monitor your account very closely. In my case, the billing and contract practices have been nothing short of aggressive, misleading, and damaging to consumer trust.
AVOID AT ALL COST! WORST SERVICE PROVIDER EVER!!
This is the worst service provider I have ever had. Not just in terms of ISP but in every service that I have ever been provided with. They have no service over the weekends and when there is a problem they will push you from one dept to another with no genuine attempt to help you. Their attitude is how can I get move this customer on do it becomes another department’s problem. My ISP issue occurred on 9 Aug. As of today, 28
Aug it has not been fixed. I am surprised that IMDA still allows them to retain a ISP license. I’d give them -5 stars if I could.
Im a existing customer with viewqwest…
Im a existing customer with viewqwest for almost 10yrs and when they offered me to upgrade my plan 2Gbps($62.50/mth) to 10Gbps with a $7 top up, i was glad to sign up.
Once i signed up they sent me a contract for 12mths extension, and when I asked why, they ignored me.
3mths later i was slap with a charge for the 12mths at $62.50 + $7(to be paid monthly).
At the point (jul 2025) their 10Gbps line is only $35/mth.
What an dishonest company. Please don't ever sign up with them. Customer service is Zero, they either ghost you or send you an email to tell you how to terminate your contract (by returning your modem) and pay the penalty.
Viewquest sucks
Viewqwest is a fraudulent company. The signals are so bad, and my wifi never works; it keeps fluctuating, and I always need to keep using data from my phone. I have exams coming soon, and I am unable to study to my full potential, because ViewQwest is not fixing the signals. We have called them multiple times, and they told us they would fix it, and then they would fix it for a few days, and it would go back to normal. This has been going on for too long, and it's high time they fix it. They are taking advantage of us and taking our money for zero quality in return. Do not go with ViewQuest.
Unauthorized Transaction by ViewQuest !!!
Do not ever do anything with ViewQuest. I am filing a police report on the unauthorized transaction they performed on my credit card as advice by my credit card company which they refuse to reverse.
In my opinion, this company is operating under extremely poor management !!!
A Million Negative Stars
A Million Negative Stars — The Absolute Worst Internet Provider Ever
If it were possible to give negative stars, I’d give them a million. This has been, by far, the most abysmal internet service experience I’ve ever had. Not only is their service unreliable, but their complete lack of customer support is absolutely outrageous.
Their so-called "support" number +65 3102 0000 is a total joke — the line is always dead, not once have I been able to get through to a human being. It's like they intentionally avoid their customers. I’ve never spoken to a single agent, because no one ever picks up. It's not just bad customer service — it's non-existent.
In May, we had a full week of downtime — an entire week without internet! And today, July 20th, on a Sunday when we had planned an important online training session, the internet went down again from 5 a.m. to at least 4 p.m. and still no resolution. This level of negligence is unacceptable.
And they have the audacity to call this "maintenance"?! In just one month, there have been multiple outages, all conveniently labeled as "maintenance". That’s not maintenance — that’s utter incompetence. If your system needs this much fixing, it’s clearly broken beyond repair.
As someone who works from home, I’ve been severely impacted. Missed meetings, lost productivity, and an endless source of stress. This provider has caused nothing but disruption and frustration in my life.
To anyone considering subscribing to them: DON’T. STAY AWAY. RUN. You’ll be throwing your money away and getting zero service and zero support in return.
This company should be ashamed of calling itself an internet provider. They are a disgrace to the industry.
Poor service isp
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with ViewQwest's technical support, or rather, the complete lack thereof. My internet has been down for over four hours, and despite my attempts to reach your technical support team, I have received no response, no call back, and no indication that anyone is even looking into my issue.
In this day and age, reliable internet is not a luxury, it's a necessity. To be left completely in the dark for such an extended period, especially for a core service like internet distribution, is utterly unacceptable and demonstrates a profound disregard for your customers.
What good is a high-speed plan if your support infrastructure crumbles the moment there's a problem? This experience highlights a critical failure in ViewQwest's customer service and emergency response protocols. I am paying for a service that is currently unusable, and I am being met with radio silence.
This level of unresponsiveness is not just inconvenient; it significantly impacts my ability to [work/study/connect with family/etc. - add your specific impact here if comfortable]. I strongly advise anyone considering ViewQwest to reconsider, as their technical support appears to be non-existent when you need them most.
I expect an immediate resolution to my internet issue and a clear explanation for this shocking lapse in support.
Frequent outages and non existent…
Frequent outages and non existent support. Almost certainly the worst in SG
Internet service can break down…
Internet service can break down suddenly. customer service line cannot be reached. failed to provide prompt action for solution
If only you could rate 0
If only you could rate 0 - very bad customer service with useless response if you actually reach them during an outage that is always a fault on their side (they will just ask you to restart modem and try to ping)
From worse to WORST!
I understand things will crash or fail but if cannot learn from it that will be long run issue to all subscribers. In June alone it failed multiple times due various reasons (according to the CS). But from technical standpoints it comes down to 2 things - DHCP and DNS. Where the redundancy? CS will always try to go around the issue to buy time with various reasons. I end up have to roll up my sleeve to do network troubleshooting and provide the logs to proof the DNS is not working!
To make thing first class, promised will call back but never happens at all. For remote worker, internet connectivity is important. We can fall back to tethering from mobile but not all the time.
Likely you will get high blood pressure after you sign up with VQ. Used to be top-notch, I think it just go into drain. I wish I can break my current contract (without penalty) and go for other ISP.
too many outage and no compensation
too many outage and no compensation. if you're a little late on payment, they send reminder about reconnect fee which is close to sgd200. they claimed to be the fastest isp in sg, true enough it's all lies. after contract ended quickly switch to another isp. $40 for 2gbps, now I'm on 10G for $29.90. now i have much more reliable internet connection.
upon website termination of service, was informed on web someone will contact, 2 weeks in nobody contacted. googled their business address at bendemeer straight away return their ont. 2 months in, till now the over payment of bills haven't get refunded.
Coming to 10 years with Viewqwest fiber…
Coming to 10 years with Viewqwest fiber broadband in October. With the exception of 2-3 outages (which were resolved promptly), the stability and performance meets expectations!
viewquest malaysia
I'm using viewquest malaysia, and the customer service is sucks. Not able to phone call, no reply via email, no news from official website contact form. So no way you can contact them if you have any issue.
I contact them to enquire renewal plan, sales drop from the sky, but they don't even care, no reply at all.
going to change to other service provider.
I had a very bad experience with…
I had a very bad experience with ViewQwest and would not recommend them to anyone. The internet connection was unreliable, with frequent disruptions that made working from home and streaming very frustrating. On top of that, trying to reach their customer service was a nightmare. The hotline is extremely difficult to get through, and when I finally did, the support was unhelpful and slow to respond.Save yourself the stress. Look elsewhere for a more reliable provider.
Signed up with VQ 2 weeks back
Signed up with VQ 2 weeks back. Wasn't aware of their infamous horrible service. Came with invoice that charge 2 months in advanced. Got the 10Gbps, but the network connectivity is nowhere near to even 1Gbps! I will break the contract in the soonest as i can! Freaking shitty services.
Very bad experience with refunding money
If there is 0 star to be given, VIEWQWEST would earn it hands down.
I had the same issue as many of these complaints here.
Terminate my broadband service 2 months ago. They told me termination took 3 days. I was still billed the following month after termination email received that it is completed.
I wrote to them, they said it will be refunded back to the form of payment i have setup (which is credit card), and that will take 7-14 working days.
I reach out to them 1 month later to enquire why the amount was not refunded yet, they told me that i would need to submit my bank account details for refund, and that process will take 3 weeks.
This is rather unethical in dealing with subscribers that are leaving them. They purposely charge you even after termination and do not refund your money accordingly after termination.
The outage was for days
The outage was for days. That’s unusually long and not even with apology or acknowledgement. Poor customer service recovery with no attempts were made at all. See the Straits Times article: viewqwest-probed-by-regulator-over-week-long-service-disruption
Kept closing the ticket saying case is closed with our request being ignored. Finally sending an email to say “As outlined in our service terms and conditions, our residential broadband service does not include guarantees that would support compensation for service disruptions”. No apologies. No attempts at customer recovery for the prolonged outage. Pretty much meaning to say we can take your money and not deliver the service.
Hope IMDA comes down firmly on the company, Poor form.
I could give a zero if I could, but there is no such option
I have never given any scathing reviews before, but there's always a first.
1) Poor aftersales service - the service representative tried his/ her best to support my enquiry to terminate the service (they were polite and patient), but took at least 3 days before I could get a call from them. Additionally, when I asked to terminate my contract, I learned that I would have to RETURN the router and any paraphernalia. This is AFTER they had confirmed the termination of my contract in writing, after I had cancelled it. They continued to charge me $80 per month even after the service was terminated while the router was still in my possession. I tried to return the router to their Suntec office in early April 2025, but the shop was closed for renovation.
This company never makes things easy for its customers and in my opinion, simply is a rip-off with their poor service/ support. Oh. That's not to mention how poor the internet connectivity is, which prompted my decision to move to another internet service provider.
I cancelled my plan on 3rd April
I cancelled my plan on 3rd April, was told that the official termination will be completed within 3 working days, i was charged for an additional month on 6th April. Called in, they told me plan is confirmed terminated and they will refund the money within 10 days to the credit card that they charged to. Been more than a month and nothing is done. I submitted a support email and called the next day, they now say they saw my support ticket and need me to send in my bank name, account holder name, and account number to process the refund. They then proceeded to delete my support ticket without a single acknowledgement nor reply. They owe me 2 months worth of subscription and constantly telling me different things to postpone the refund. I have had absolutely ZERO good experiences with viewqwest for my 2 years with them. If you're getting convinced to sign a plan with them, think many more times. It's gonna be hell.
