When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit in 2020 and halted all travel plans, I found myself with an abundance of free time having finished the school year in June. While I could have stayed in my room all summer playing video games and watching TV, I instead chose to look into the possibility of completing an internship. Being in high school at the time and having had little relevant job experience, I was doubtful of the possibility of finding an internship over the summer. Luckily, I managed to find the Virtual Internships Foundations Program: a four-week online internship for driven high school students looking to gain valuable skills, knowledge, and exposure to their desired industry.

While initially a bit dubious of the internship's emphasis on teamwork, by the end of the four weeks, I realized how valuable this was as I was working with like-minded high school students of a similar driven nature. Not only was I able to network with students who were also considering careers in the business/finance sector, but I also received valuable, detailed, and specific feedback from both my host company (B Atomic: an e-insurance company) and program advisors on the quality of my team's work. Despite not having taken any business classes in high school, I was trained in areas such as marketing, brand management, HR, project management, and more which put me in good stead for starting my business degree at university. Finally, a key component of the program was guidance on resume writing, interview etiquette, and career management: all imperative skills when entering the workforce. Overall, this experience provided me the opportunity to network with like-minded people, learn about my industry of interest, produce high-quality, hands-on work, and gain an advantage over competitive first year university business students looking for employment. I would without doubt recommend Virtual Internships to those driven students looking to develop their soft skills, meet like-minded individuals, and learn about their industry of interest.

I had the most greatful internship, i had an experienceworking with an international company and having an experience to work on remote bases...Since the world has changed due to the pandemic of corona virus. This was an opportunities to have an experience to work on remote internship.I am really glad i had this opportunity. It realy help me to improve some of my personal goals like improving my communication skills, public speaking skills, active listening ,research skills, critinal thinking, creativity skills and other skills.

My month-long experience with Virtual Internships was a very positive one, where I worked directly under a top-level executive for a company with over 1000 employees. We worked to create mission and vision statements, job templates, advertising campaigns, websites, and more. Overall, I learned a lot and I strongly encourage you to take on an internship like this.

Talking about my experience I was really great at all the other experiences. This platform was best for me
to work with different people around the world having different ways of thinking and perspective. What real teamwork is, I got the opportunity to learn about this in this very program. Collaborating with the team, cracking jokes with them,
all are the things that I have experienced.

I applied with the company months ago and never heard back from them after having a few interactions with the customer service team. With my experience, I would be cautious paying for any service, as there was no communication even after they promised to get back to me.

I gained amazing skills and experiences from my internship opportunity. I feel like the knowledge I have now I can apply to real-world situations and really stand out in a crowd of job applicants. I can't recommend the program or the company enough.

This was a great opportunity to gain work experience and gain connections anywhere in the world from the comfort of your own home. This experience allowed me to develop a number of transferable skills in the business area I was most interested in. It’s a great addition to add to your CV and employers are always interested in a candidate who’s worked for an oversees firm. As the experience was virtual I was able to complete it from anywhere in the world at times that were most convenient for me.

Virtual Internships were brilliant at matching me and my interests to a company that helped me get the most out of the program. I gained lots of experience and it was so useful having people in the industry I want to work in (the media industry) to talk to and ask questions about how it works and how to get my foot in the door.

The online resources from Virtual Internships was mostly good, it definitely motivated to keep making sure I was getting the most out of my internship. Some of the information was quite outdated or sometimes contradictory though, so I would take their online advice with a pinch of salt!

You also get two meetings with a mentor, one halfway through your internship and one at the end, and that was definitely very useful in making sure I was keeping track of what I was gaining from the internship, as now I know exactly what to put in my CV for it!

As a Science student, joining the Virtual Internships Programme to work as a financial data analyst allowed me to really experience working in industries outside my degree, and gave me a lot of insight into how I should go forward with graduate recruitment!
My manager was very supportive and the Virtual Internships team were very helpful as well in answering my queries.

Having received a bursary from my university, I was set up with a marketing agency in China during summer 2020 and learned so much about the industry. It was invaluable experience that has helped me secure a competitive graduate scheme! I worked for 20 hours a week, giving enough time for enjoying the summer, as well as undertaking supplementary courses. There was also a lot of extra course content from Virtual Internships themselves, as well as really enjoyable webinars on topics such as interview skills. It is also an amazing opportunity to gain well valued international experience.

Thanks to Virtual Internships, I was able to work as a Social Media Intern for Boundless Impact which is based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
The internship was definitely out of my comfort zone as I has little experience about social media but by the ned of the internship, I was able to submit a template for the newsletter and also complete profiles of my colleagues. It was really cool to see my work on their website.
It was also really helpful to have routine check-ins with Virtual Internships that helped me in organising my time and reflecting effectively on my work.

I highly recommend the virtual internship experience. I was assisted throughout the process by the really helpful staff at CRCC, including updating me on my employment seeking progress, interview information and internship tips. The mid-term conversation to evaluate my progress was also very beneficial. The internship was excellent and I developed lots of new skills. I was given lots of responsibility with really challenging and interesting tasks and I learned lots.

During my short but impactful time working as a marketing intern at a company based in Shanghai, I gained so much valuable experience in only 5 weeks. I instantly felt as though I was a valued team member and was able to take ownership of several hands-on projects within the first week. The team not only made me feel extremely welcomed but held me to high standards which cultivated an open and growth-oriented environment. As a result, I have gained so many new skills, as well as refined the skills I came in with, resulting in a newfound confidence as I approach future opportunities.

My time interning with virtual internships was amazing. I was able to grow my network in a global setting while focusing on my studies here in the US. I would highly recommend the program to everyone who wants global experience and wants an affordable way of doing so. The supervisors are super helpful!

My experience with Virtual Internship was great. I was not sure if I was good enough for an English speaking role, but they assisted me throughout the way. Thanks to them, after completing my internship programme, I was able to see my strengths and weaknesses objectively, which is still very useful in my current career.

My internship experience was positive.
