The Treatment Of Certain Members Of Staff At Walkers Selby Is Unfair In My View Not Acceptable. I've Said This Before And I Will Stick To It. # Its Not What You Know But Who You Know !!! Some Sales Staff Should Grow Up !!!
Excellent purchase
I have been looking at replacing my car for some weeks now and have been all over the place. I decided to have a look at Walkers of Selby who had an offer on. The offer was an electric charger and £1000 towards my px. When we got there we were greeted by Sean one of the salesmen. I told him what I wanted which was an electric Corsa. He came up with one which was spot on and had all the bells and whistles. Sean was a very pleasant and helpful young man and not one bit pushy. He explained everything to me from finance to how the things worked on the car. I cannot stress enough how pleased I am with this deal and the vehicle. He kept in touch with me right the way through unlike other dealerships I had visited. I would highly recommend Sean and Walkers of Selby. Thank you for such good service.
Avoid.
Recently bought a car from this company and it developed an engine fault. Contacted the company as still under warranty and was told couldn’t look at it for 2 half weeks. They would need to do their own check even though we knew the problem. Advised to go elsewhere. What is the point of.warranty if they don’t sort it out. Couldn’t give us a courtesy car. The customer service is not acceptable. The fact that the car was needed for work didn’t seem to bother them.
car purchase
I purchased my car from walkers of Selby.I was helped and dealt with by Sean who gave a friendly and very smooth purchase from start to completion.Thank you.

We bought an almost new Astra from Walkers, & are very pleased with it. The whole process was simple & straightforward. The salesman Tom was helpful, considerate & friendly. We felt reassured & confident with our purchase, & would happily recommend them to friends & family.
They bought my car on Motorway
They bought my car on Motorway, messed me around for a week , then cancelled without even bothering to inform me.
They never return calls, will push you from pillar to post. Unprofessional.

Lied to by Staff
We sold our black Volvo to walkers Selby in September and bought a white bmw from them. We had the car 1 day before the engine management light had come on. We contacted walkers and took it in that evening where they told us it will need to be booked in to get a diagnostic done on it.
The car went in and we was given a courtesy car while ours was with walkers. We then collected it after being told it would need to go to a bmw specialist to be looked at to find out the fault so we was then driving our car again with an engine management light on.
We then drop it off so it can be taken to a specialist and were told on the paperwork that the courtesy car needed to be back on the 22nd October (today). We have had to call numerous times to find out what is happening with our car to be told the manager has gone home and he will contact us tomorrow. We have also been told our car is now in Worksop at a walkers garage there to be looked at as the bmw specialist couldn’t fix the fault.
My partner has been to put fuel in the courtesy car this evening to find our car sat on the forecourt of walkers Selby, not in Worksop as told to myself and my partner on two separate occasions.
The lady we purchased the car with was amazing and I cannot recommend her enough however all the other staff who we have dealt with including the lady who has lied to myself and my partner on two seperate occasions are poor and show you exactly how not to treat customers.
We will be contacting walkers again tomorrow to find out what is going on with our car and when we can have it back. If we do not get any further tomorrow I will be contacting the obundsman for advice.
The worst Garage I have ever come…
The worst Garage I have ever come across.
Had my car in for a recall, picked it up the following day service light was on, did a couple of trips to work and engine light came on and emmisions fault light starting to flash. Called them up and they said I needed a diagnostic test. And would charge me a stupid amount. I told them my car was perfectly fine before and said they had done nothing wrong and weren't interested. Horrible staff disgusting customer service, now having to take my car else where and will be contacting Vauxhall directly. Would give 0 stars
If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. I rang Walkers Motor Group (Selby branch) to enquire if they would help with my tyres. There was no answer so I went there in person. When I explained the issue to the man who attended to me, he was very rude, dismissive, aggressive and shouting for no reason at all. He was agitated and worked up and I couldn't understand why. I had spoken to him politely. I understand if they were busy/couldn’t fit me in, but it’s THE WAY he said it which was uncalled for. The reason I went there is they have previously done my MOT and service with no issue, but after this episode, I will never set foot in there again. I have since found garages in Selby with better customer care. Please improve your customer service and learn how to speak to customers properly. Shame on you. The man was older, with blondish/grey hair maybe, shortish (I’m 5’8 and he was a little bit shorter than me) - possibly a manager/owner? Who knows. My point is still the same. Disgusting behaviour.

Not much different from you backstreet…
Not much different from you backstreet used car salesman. Sell you a car and don't want to know. Brought a Tesla from walkers and let them know a handful of days after buying it about couple of noises coming from the car, they had it for 24hrs and said the rattle inside was a loose seat that they'd fixed and the clicking from the outside was normal, electrical contacts or something engaging. On the way home both noises continued so I booked it into Tesla. The rattle from inside was a stone in the vent system that ended up costing me £210 and the clicking a worn down knuckle, very safe and responsible walkers considering It had just been in your hands and mot'ed by yourselves a few days before. The stone was an ornamental stone not one Id seen or anything I'd put in the car and like I said I informed them about it a few days after buying the car. After numerous calls and emails I've called today 2 weeks after my email for the manager to say it's normal wear and tear that they don't cover. So before buying from here think.
Stay clear of this garage at all costs!!!
I purchased a car from Walkers Peugeot Selby, which had just been serviced with book stamped. Whilst driving home, I noticed a droning/ transmission noise and a knocking noise upon getting close to home. Only to find the following defects
• Drive shafts' excessive movement into gearbox n/s
• Camber on nsr wheel is excessive (rear axle bent)
• Nsr wheel bearing has excessive movement
• The front bumper had been resprayed
• The rear bumper had been resprayed
I reported the above faults to walkers straight away, and the car was unfit for purpose and remained off the road on my driveway. Walkers recovered the car for further checks. Even Tho they had been serviced with these defects present and sold to me. I managed to find an invoice for alloy wheel repairs in which the previous owner's contact number was present. I spoke to previous owners who confirmed that the car had been involved in an accident, hitting a kerb at high speed. Resulting in wheel damage, nsr axle bent, and the above defects.
Walkers Peugeot clearly have turned a blind eye to this; they have asked me to remove my reviews online in which I won't. I have also found out they have sold the car to a Ford dealership in Dorset, whom I've been in contact to warn them of the still outstanding defects.
Avoid this dealership
Walkers of Selby is the WORST dealership that I have ever been to. Staff who think it is OK to swear at customers, no response to complaints and it is clear in my experience that they obviously do not check their vehicles before they put them on their forecourt, as if they did they would have rectified all the problems with mine before I purchased my Vauxhall Corsa.
This has been a steep learning curve for me as I am paying monthly payments for a vehicle with problems that they can't and won't resolve.
I will never buy another vehicle from Walkers of Selby ever again.
Be sensible and avoid this dealership, I wish I had.
Highly recommended purchasing a car…
Highly recommended purchasing a car with this company! Rob (manager Rob) was very helpful and helped me get car I wanted.. All staff are so friendly and welcoming. They entertained my daughter while I was doing paperwork.

I bought an e 208 in June from Walkers of Selby. Lewis in sales was very helpful but not pushy. He was very accommodating with all info requested. I did not feel pressured into buying which I had experienced at other showrooms that day. After purchasing the vehicle, I realised I only had one key(I didn’t ask at purchase) . Lewis got this sorted immediately and the service team came and sorted it at my home . In August, I noticed that my parcel shelf was damaged on one side and when I brought this to Lewis’ attention he got it replaced without any drama or hassle. This has been a very positive experience for me and I would recommend them.
I purchased a car from Walkers in April…
I purchased a car from Walkers in April 2023. Within the first few days, I noticed one of the tyres was slowly deflating and had to keep adding air. I paid a mobile fitter to change the tyre, and upon removing the wheel, they discovered a crack that had previously been welded.
Walkers acknowledged responsibility as a reputable dealer and paid for a new weld on that wheel. However, this attempt to rectify the issue failed. Later, when the other front tyre started deflating, we found that wheel had also been improperly welded, causing the leak.
Concerningly, I had paid £44,000 for this vehicle with very low mileage and the benefits of a long manufacturer's warranty. When I took it to Mercedes Brooklands, they informed me they could not proceed with any warranty repairs or even inspect the car further, as they did not deem it safe enough for their employees to test drive due to the cracked alloy wheels. This rendered my car effectively un-serviceable.
The situation was unacceptable. I had purchased a beautiful automobile that I could not safely operate. Despite being given ample opportunity, Walkers ignored communications from myself and my father to rectify the matter. One staff member even admitted via WhatsApp message that they simply did not have time to check the wheels before sale.
Walkers refused to communicate with us or my finance company to resolve this problem. Ultimately, the finance company stepped in to provide funds for replacing the two faulty alloy wheels.
Today, I received a service reminder from Walkers - a timely reminder to post this review as a warning: Buyers beware, Walkers took my money but showed no concern over delivering an unsafe vehicle to me.
Positive purchase
As used car purchases go, I think this was a good one.
I found the car, and Walkers by browsing online. The price (including delivery) was good, but believable. Phoned up to place the deposit, and paid later paid online.
Despite being a busy sales period, Adam was good at answering my questions. Delivery was prompt. Importantly, when the car arrived, it was exactly as they'd described, and in great condition.
A minor fault later occurred, but that's been a smooth warranty experience.
