The online valuation is based on the limited information you share with us about the car and is not a lure to bring people in (that's called bait and switch and it's illegal). Like any reputable buyer, we do our due diligence and always complete a test drive and appraisal before making a firm offer.

The appraisal process includes physical and mechanical checks of the vehicle, running a vehicle history check through providers such as Experian or CARFAX, and we run OBDII diagnostics on the vehicle to check for any engine or drivetrain issues. If the appraisal finds any issues with the car that were not declared online, these are always considered part of our final offer.

Unfortunately, there were several problems with the Dodge that were not declared during the online valuation and should have been explained to you in detail before you accepted our offer.

We can see when you requested the online valuation estimate on 1/10/2023 you stated that the vehicle was a 2003 model year but during the physical appraisal at our branch on 4/4/2023, we were alerted that the car was actually a year older. In addition, the vehicle had 64,000 more miles than what you had stated 3 months prior to your appointment. Due to these reasons, we were already starting at a much lower value than what was quoted online.

Physically, the windshield and passenger side front fender would need to be replaced. Mechanically, our check of the vehicle's diagnostic computer returned a P0562 (System Voltage Low) fault code.

We have to take these into account and we made you an offer in line with the expected market resale value. We hope you understand our pricing decision which was based on the condition of your vehicle.
