Beware
Hooked by the cheap price, I ordered an outdoor daybed from Westier.com. I should have known better, given that later, I found these are usually ten times as much. (Too good to be true and all that.)
The website said it was from a closed down factory in the USA, shipped, worldwide by UPS, dispatched the next day or within four, with shipping taking up to 15 business days.
There were no confirmation or delivery information emails and I found that I was charged slightly more GBP than advertised without explanation and that the payee was the Xingui Mining Co Ltd.
I contacted the email address on the Westier website, after a reasonable period and did receive a reply, initially, saying I would need to wait due to a shortage (no timeframe given) and that there would be no tracking information as the product would be sourced locally to me and sent manually. (I live in the UK.)
When I looked again, there were inconsistencies in the website.
Given all of the above, I felt doubtful about the reliability/legitimacy of this seller and, in any case, did not want to wait indefinitely for something I wanted for the summer, so emailed requesting my order be cancelled and refunded.
I received no reply to that or a follow up email.
After another four weeks, I contacted Paypal, who refunded me immediately.
It could be that Westier is a legitimate website/company, but just a little sketchy.
This is just information for those such as myself (who thought I’d take a chance).
