For the first two months I had this device, it worked great. Then the battery stopped charging. After a long series of calls and emails with customer support they finally sent me a replacement device, which worked for another month or so before it stopped working completely. Back I went to customer support for a full month of back-and-forth emails and phone calls. The entire exchange seemed designed to do nothing but waste my time for so long that I would give up. End result: a totally nonfunctioning device which they refuse to refund, and hours of frustration dealing with stonewalling customer support. Learn from my experience and don't waste your time or money on Whistle.

I have used multiple whistle products and I finally had enough so I'm writing a review. Every time I'm going on vacation or anywhere where I would actually need to whistle it turns out whistle is not working the app is frozen you need to reset the device etc etc basically meaning to keep the device working plan and debugging it once a month. Not to mention the GPS location is so inaccurate if you need to find your dog I hope you can yell across three or 400 yards.
Truly a disgrace of a simple device. Stay away

Oh and they are not giving me my money back per their contract because my credit card has expired so they are keeping my money as punishment for my card expiring.

We love our Whistle. It is especially useful on vacation in more remote places (sometimes without a fence) so we can see when our dog leaves the property.
Something I didn't realize before I bought it is the benefits of the health analysis - licking, scratching, drinking and sleeping. Over time it helps monitor the health of our dog.

I bought this after my dog strayed away from my house, scaring the daylights out of me. I didn’t realize it also essentially functions as a Fitbit for him, giving me daily updates on whether he’s meeting his fitness goals! Absolutely love this.

I finally really needed my whistle app and it was a COMPLETE FAIL The app had stopped tracking my pet and never notified me. When he got turned around and was lost and I tried to check for his location it would not connect. For over ten minutes. Then, it knocked me completely our of the system. First tries to reconnect, I got a notice that the
Email addrsss was wrong. It wasn’t. I was using saved information. Finally on about the fifth try, it connected to the Ap. Then I kept getting the silly “humps” notice you use. The only reason I was able to locate my per was that I had a collar on him with his phone number printed in large type and someone called me. In case you were wondering if my phone was working- you can see that it was. When I go onto my app now, there is a large time gap where I can see that it was not working. As if my pet vanished into thin air. All with no notification. I have had small problems in the past and was assured they were taken care of. Obviously not. I am going to contact everyone I recommended your product to, to rescind my recommendation and let them know they should do the same. This really is not a service you can sell unless you attend to its quality.

When I got my bundle of joy, Tuck, an Australian Labradoodle, my brothers gave me Whistle for Christmas. I was grateful, but, not certain that I'd use it. It's been a wonderful gift & I highly recommend!

We bought this after a harrowing experience where our golden took off for 2 1/2 hours from our yard after being frightened by a hot air balloon. I remain impressed by the cost of entry, tech, light weight collar attachment and overall responsiveness.

The data reports on activity, sleep, etc. are a nice bonus and will provide a data driven record of our family pet's health trends and any changes in her routines.

Our whistle will only stay charged for 8 hours at a time then needs to be recharged. Can’t get in contact with customer service after multiple attempts. There are far better products out there for less money. Junk

I really love the Whistle product for multiple reasons. The most important reason is that I feel reassured that if my dog were to become scared or react to a strong prey drive instinct and run off, Whistle partnered with recall would help me locate my dog more quickly and return them back into a safe and controlled environment.
I also like to know that they are getting the correct amount of activity during the day/week to keep them healthy and enriched.
Lastly, the itching and licking notifications on the weekly wellness report provide important feedback that could indicate a sensitivity to a new treat or food ingredient or direct me to check for the dreaded flea.
Three stars (instead of five) is based on my experience with one of my dogs actually Whistle unit. One of the toggles broke and consequently would not stay on the collar attachment. When I reached out to Whistle about it, the customer service was AMAZING! Efficient, communicative and incredibly fast getting me another tracker within 48 hours, all they asked for was a picture of the broken device. Unfortunately, this happened again with the replacement device and I was unable to locate it. (when I noticed it was missing it had run out of battery) Nothing on the collar attachment indicated damage and not being able to provide a picture of the broken or defective product, I did not bother calling customer service. I would have felt like a jerk. Ironically, this occurred with my 12 year old, 25lb. dog that is not crazy or rambunctious, while my two year old 95lb., crazy, deer chasing, rambunctious dog has not had an issue thus far.
This truly is an amazing product. Gives owners reassurance and knowledge to keep their pups safe and healthy. I would recommend it to all dog owners.

A great product that does what's intended and more!
Helps to tract activity level of my dog with arthritis which helps us with what medications she needs that day (more activity means more pain the next day). The licking and scratching feature also helps me to track when she needs to go to the groomer, if they increase its time for a spa day. Cant ask for a better product!

I have to small maltese pups. Both around 6lbs. I'm always worried about someone leaving the door open and having them run away. The whistle tracker gives me peace of mind knowing i will be able to find them if god forbid they do get away. It also acts very much like a fitbit and tracks various parts of a dogs routine. Especially things that you want to keep an eye on like licking, scratching, not drinking enough water, not enough activity, etc. It can also alert you to of there is a problem with your dogs health by way of these features. The tracker alerts people to symptoms that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Its especially good if your trying to get your dog to lose weight. I also have a 20lb morkie who is overweight and we need to control his calories. Whistle helps with that. At first I was concerned that it would be too big for my small 5-6lb dogs, bit its really not. It's light and it doesn't bother them one bit. They honestly act like it's not even there.

does not deliver what it promises, no way to contact anybody to get help...not worth the money, unreliable !

The Whistle Go has been extremely helpful in providing useful data regarding my dog's wellness. I find the weekly reports very helpful and the app is great.

I noticed that Molly's Whistle Go started falling off because of a broken lug on the tracker. It took awhile to get to a live person on the support team but when I did, they addressed the problem immediately and will send a replacement. The lug issue has been resolved according to the agent. I really like keeping track of Molly's general well-being via the tracker. It is a great product.

The new device that we upgraded to is a great improvement over the previous version, with better accuracy and on time notifications we can always count on and trust our fur babies are safe !

I have been a loyal Whistle 3 owner for years. I updated one of them to the latest version which gives health statistics like drinking, scratching and licking which is huge for me since my Plott Hound has severe allergies. The weekly wellness report is great. The only reason I only gave 4 stars is the new Whistle now has to charge with a mini USB connector instead of the rock solid charger base that the old Whistle 3 has. These mini USB connectors are famous for failing. No doubt Whistle did this to save money. It's way cheaper to eliminate the charger base and device connectors with a cheap cable and mini USB connector. Hey Whistle, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

I have a nearly 7 month old Retriever. The Whistle tool answers many questions that I would refer to my vet without having an appointment or fee. Whistle gives me a daily updated health report along with a suggested exercise schedule for the size and age of my pup. The GPS insures I know the location of my dog and, can send a duplicate report to my spouse. Whistle is a valuable barometer for my pet's health and safety.
