As I have wasted enough time on trying to get the money back from this company and their so-called "diagnosis" I will not go into details. i just want to express how my experience with Whoopcars was disappointing,frustrating and time consuming. Gladly I used credit card to cover part of the purchase so bank delt with it for me and I received full refund from the bank after their investigation on faulty car been successful. i would never buy from this company again. Very unpleasant experience.

Be very careful when purchasing a car from this company - updated
Bought a car from Whoop cars and was initially impressed by the garage and talk of thorough presale inspections. Within a days the car developed gearbox problems and upon calling out the RAC we recieved a unroadworthyness report by the RAC that gears were broken and very possible master cylinder issues. Took weeks to get a response from them and only after the CEO took up the problem things did happen albeit very slowly. Even that took weeks to get my money back. This Car was deemed dangerous to drive by the RAC and very unlikely these faults could be missed by any pre sale checks. Another odd thing was the change of ownership never turned up after being done online and the car was back on the forecourt in a matter of days of them receiving the car back. I have my doubts that they actually transferred ownership as they could never provide proof of transfer when I asked. No compensation for putting my family at risk or problems not having a car caused. Its a nice shiny looking company that is still the same 'you bought the car now we dont care' under the surface like most used car garages nowadays.
In response to the comments made by them
The RAC were not called out on roadside assistance they were called out and we paid for an individual assesment. The DVSA do not take that long as the log book for the Car we bought afterwards came within 10 days.
Dont try and deflect thay we bought this car in haste from the actual issue that a reputable mechanic identifies the car as unroadworthy.
This is another reason to avoid this company by them trying to dampen an actual

Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you felt this way about your experience, and we offer our sincere apologies for the frustration caused. We would, however, just like to clarify a few details from our side.
When you initially purchased the vehicle, you sent us an email explaining that you had acted in haste and did not actually want the car. We immediately agreed to a full refund, but you then changed your mind and decided to stay in the vehicle until you later reported this gearbox issue.
Regarding the RAC report, it is important to note that a roadside call-out is only a brief visual inspection rather than a full workshop diagnostic, meaning patrol breakdown vans are limited in how accurately they can diagnose complex mechanical issues. As a standard precaution to cover themselves, they will label a vehicle as "unroadworthy" for almost any reported drivetrain issue. Following your report, our own workshop conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle and the gearbox, and no mechanical faults were found. We also took the car on multiple extended test drives, and it performed perfectly fine.
We ultimately agreed to a full refund—despite the vehicle having no faults—purely out of goodwill and good customer care. It had been mentioned to us that the vehicle simply wasn't the right fit for your wife, and we wanted to make sure you weren't left with a car your family didn't want. Once a vehicle is fully refunded and back in our possession, we are entirely within our rights to place it back on the forecourt and advertise it for sale.
Regarding the paperwork, a V5 logbook is a document showing who the registered keeper is, not proof of legal ownership. As we didn't have the V5 on site to complete an online application, the transfer had to be completed via a physical V62 application. Because of this, we do not have an online reference number to provide you, and it can take up to a month for the DVLA to process and issue the new V5. As for the money, we try to be completely transparent that our standard refund timeframe is up to 14 working days, as stated in our terms of business (https://www.whoopcars.co.uk/terms-of-business.php), though yours was actually processed quicker than this.
Because we acted in good faith to ensure you weren't stuck with a car you didn't want, we feel a 1-star rating is a bit unjust, but we do appreciate your feedback and wish you and your family all the best.
EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE CUSTOMER'S REMARKS:
To clarify the final points raised:
An independent vehicle inspection from a breakdown service remains a mobile, non-dismantling assessment. Our garage, by contrast, conducted a full workshop diagnostic with dedicated equipment alongside multiple extended road tests, finding absolutely no mechanical faults with the vehicle or gearbox.
Regarding the DVLA, a standard online transfer (such as the one on the vehicle you purchased afterwards) does typically take around 10 days. However, as previously explained, because we did not have the V5 logbook on site at the time, your transfer had to be processed via a physical V62 application form. The DVLA explicitly states that a V62 application can take up to 4 weeks to process, and without the V5 document on site, an online reference number physically cannot be generated.
We have no intention of deflecting; we simply highlighted the initial email to provide the full, accurate context of this transaction. We accepted the vehicle back and issued a full refund in a shorter timeframe than our advertised terms—despite our workshop confirming the car was completely fault-free—purely to ensure you were not left stuck with a vehicle your family did not want.
We have handled this matter fairly, transparently, and in accordance with our terms of business. We now consider this matter closed and wish you all the best.
