Your team is very helpful… had very good experience so far

This company is a complete scam. I was issued a policy with William Russell due to working abroad. While I was insured i had a scooter incident which required surgery. I couldn't wait to get approval so i said ill pay out of pocket and get reimbursed which they said was ok. After the surgery they asked for numerous documentation which i provided. They even asked for a 3 way call with my previous insurance to prove that what i had wasn't pre existing. After everything they're constantly still asking for things that aren't relevant. Looking for any reason whatsoever to deny my claim. It's been a complete nightmare overall and it's a shame that a company can get away with treating people this way

William Russell issued Letter of Guarantee to cover an urgent medical procedure in Asia extremely rapidly. There was not a lot of bureaucracy, I had one single main point of contact in their UK claims team who communicated swiftly and professionally with both me and the providing hospital. Additionally, as a revised (increased) hospital invoice had to be approved over a weekend, WR's after hours team assessed and approved that in 24 hours. Finally, a special mention of their personalized customer service and support -- once my medical concern was identified and a request for a LOG was sent to WR, I had one main, and extremely kind and professional, point of contact in the WR Claims Team. First rate all around. Thank you!

William Russell and the Team were extremely helpful and reassuring during a tough time. I was abroad and had to navigate foreign healthcare systems and payments, and they made the process much smoother and easier. I would particularly like to thank Barbora for her support throughout the process.

I am deeply disappointed with the underwriting process and customer service at William Russell.

My application for life insurance was flagged based entirely on an automated computer printout on a routine ECG that claimed an elevated QTc. Anyone in medicine knows that computer algorithms on ECGs are notoriously inaccurate and require a quick manual check of the paper grid. Instead of taking less than a minute to verify the paper tracing, William Russell’s underwriting team relied blindly on an unverified computer glitch.

Because of their refusal to do a simple manual check, I had to waste my time and money going BACK to a board certified cardiologist to get a second ECG with a manual reading. Unsurprisingly, the cardiologist’s signed evaluation confirmed a completely normal QTc of 420 ms (0.42s).

Despite submitting this definitive specialist report to clear up their initial error, communication from William Russell has ground to a total halt with days of radio silence.

If this is how William Russell handles routine sales, relying on machine glitches over clear specialist data, making prospective clients spend time and money to fix their mistakes, and going silent when proven wrong, it raises severe concerns about how they will act during a real claim.

Prospective buyers beware.

To every inquiry, I receive a very prompt and helpful reply. Arrangements for care are made that consider, or even anticipate, my concerns. When I hear stories from friends about problems with insurers, I am even more grateful to be with William Russell. (I would like to especially praise Cosmina Gradinaru, who has been my contact for our family policy for several years. She has been absolutely terrific in assisting us!)

Was a member for 25 years. They happily took my money. Only one very small claim during these years.
Then I turned 50 and my premium went up over 20% then up again another 24% when I turned 51. Absolutely disgraceful to treat loyal members for many years like this. As soon as you turn 50+ then they want to ditch you quickly by pushing your premium up unfairly. Now I'm left with trying to find another Insurance company but they will not cover pre-existing conditions. WRussell don't care, they're celebrating I'm off their books......
What they do is unethical.

William Russell has proven to be a reliable health insurer of our family for twenty years. The coverage is comprehensive, there have been no issues with claims, and the customer service is great in an industry that is rife with the opposite experience

The health insurer that changed everything I ever worried about with health insurers: having been William Russell (WR) clients for decades, I can wholeheartedly say that WR has never let us down. Not only do they have exemplary staff and service but also response times that defy belief. WR has always acted with kindness and support, processed claims in a timely manner and proffered the kind of human interaction that is now so rare. Truly the health insurer that made our worries disappear.

Dealing with Cosmina Gradinaru in Claims is an absolute pleasure. There is no BS, you know exactly what is going on and she will try to make life as easy as possible for you. I am in the insurance game and I have never found anyone better.

Worst inaginable health insurance scam company. Takes your money but good luck getting any claims paid. Also their advertised cashless network is extremely false advertisement and inaccurate. When I finally needed to make a claim tons of headaches and excuses not to pay. Currently looking for lawyer to litigate against them. Highly recommend you avoid this company

Absolutely hell trying to get them to pre authorize a medically urgent procedure. They want to delay it and hope you will die in the meanwhile. Easy to sign up but impossible to use your coverage

As insurance is supposed to be! Put in the right forms, got back what was agreed (after the deductable). It was perfect. Very happy
