Absolute waste of time for divorce

Absolute waste of time for divorce. Ended up costing me thousands for a relatively amicable divorce. Should have done the divorce online directly and used a mediator. Heat of the moment decision has cost me hugely. My advice. Think twice before using Wilson Browne

Do not use for divorce.

Do not use!!
Used recently for a divorce and they recommended completing a full financial disclosure even though we were amicable and only had a house to sort out. The form filling for the financial disclosure cost a fortune and dragged things on. They are money grabbing and we had to sort the finances out through a mediator in the end anyway. So all of their advice was to take my money and waste my time.
Would avoid at all costs

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Wilson Browne Solicitors especially Vicki Pearce, has been disappointing, marked by a lack of transparency, professionalism, and accountability. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

1. Abuse of an Elderly Client: Wilson Browne was appointed as deputy to "protect" my elderly mother, yet they restricted her access to her own money, causing unnecessary hardship. When she had a further capacity assessment evidencing that she neither needed or wanted a Deputy and challenged this in court , WB challenged her wasting her own money further and causing her financial and psychological damage . Worse, they forced her to be harassed (undergo capacity assessments) while she was seriously ill in hospital. This neglect of her well-being and autonomy shows a disturbing lack of compassion and duty to a vulnerable person. The Deputy (Vicki Pearce) failed to comply with the rules of conduct which she is legally expected to

2. Conflict of Interest & Bias: Wilson Browne represented both my deceased mother and another party with conflicting interests in my mother’s estate, failing to maintain impartiality. Despite requests, after my mother’s early death I was denied access to estate information shared with the other party, which placed me at an unfair disadvantage and revealed a clear bias.

3. Data Protection Concerns: Despite their claims to follow strict data protection protocols, Wilson Browne disregarded my privacy by sharing information from my private meetings, with the other party. This breach of confidentiality is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on their ethical standards.

4. Failure to Provide Essential Information: As a potential beneficiary, I repeatedly requested transparency on estate income and value. Vicki Pearce ignored these requests, preventing me from making informed decisions and progressing with the estate. This lack of transparency feels intentionally obstructive.

5. Avoidance of Face-to-Face Meetings: I requested in-person meetings to discuss the estate fairly and productively, yet Wilson Browne repeatedly denied these requests, choosing evasive communication instead. This avoidance has unnecessarily stalled the estate administration and made it more contentious. During the Deputyship Vicki Pearce failed to meet with my mother and act upon her wishes on numerous occasions, damaging her autonomy & psychological well being as well as her estate.

6. Dismissal of Discrimination Concerns: Throughout this process, I raised valid concerns about discrimination affecting my family. Instead of addressing these issues professionally, Wilson Browne outright dismissed them, failing to show accountability or even a basic acknowledgment of the seriousness of discrimination.

7. Unjustified Fees: Wilson Browne issued multiple invoices without adequately explaining their charges. They have provided little to no transparency on these costs, leaving me with unanswered questions and substantial unpaid fees that appear baseless.

Overall, Wilson Browne’s actions have been obstructive, biased, and lacking in the ethical standards expected of a legal firm. Their unprofessionalism has added stress and frustration to an already challenging Deputyship and subsequent probate process. If you are considering them for legal services, I strongly advise you to document every interaction carefully and seek alternative representation to avoid the mistreatment and frustration I have experienced.

Quality conveyancing

The Leicester conveyancing team and Chloe Lake dealt so well with my very complicated and drawn out purchase. They kept me updated all the way and I knew I was in safe hands.

Thank you Higham Ferrers branch!

The team at the Higham Ferrers branch have been beyond helpful to me on the purchase of 2 properties and sale of 1. The service was consistently brilliant using this firm both in 2016 and in 2023.
The team are pleasant, responsive and helpful. Despite not being the cheapest of the 4 independent conveyancing quotes we'd sourced, they were very reasonable and the most transparent/inclusive of charges upfront, which is why we opted to instruct them again.
A huge thank you particularly to Daniella A & Melissa W.
It seems people only review on bad experience below but I couldn't fault these guys, so thank you...

Time wasters. Avoid.

WB sent a quote and said they were happy to do the conveyancing on the property I was purchasing. After sharing the details with the seller's solicitor, WB then claimed they were too busy to do it. I made a 'new' enquiry and they said they could do it, no problem. Someone there is telling lies. I don't appreciate being messed around so found another firm. Avoid.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, especially the Higham branch.
I had to do some of the chasing myself as they failed to do so in time. They released the keys on my sale knowing I had not completed on my purchase ! causing great distress.
They do not answer enquiries I raised properly.
They take your money then anything after that that needs to be raised you are put to the bottom of the pile.
Very disappointed.
Would not recommend.

Don't buy or Sell property with Wilson Browne

Wilson Browne are acting for my buyer. The price was agreed in April and due to extensive delays from Wilson Browne we still have no exchange / completion date. After having promised to send documents out 9 days ago, today after being chased up they admitted they hadn't looked at the file. Had they not been chased who knows when they would have bothered.

Wilson Browne - poor service

Wilson Browne, Wellingborough, processed my mother in law's will. Then when contacted regarding a probate issue was told "we are too busy to help". So we went to another firm of lawyers. Then, because their offices are close by, we asked them to witness an Oath we were told again they were "too busy" and it was not possible to get a solicitor to sign a document (1 minute's work) for at least five days.

Appalling service. Not recommended

And the firm's internet advertising blurb "When you need legal help, we’ll be right by your side" is just not true. Perhaps a complaint to the Advertising Stanfdards Authority is in order as based our these experiences that advertising is misleading.
