Just don't subscribe

Count me among the people who was charged exorbitant fees from a misleading subscription and then they make it as hard to cancel as humanly possible

Do not subscribe

WSJ will increase the subscription prices without any communication sent to the customer and will not process a refund 'per their policy'.

Unscrupulous billing practices

Good offer initially and then without notice I was billed $50 for 1 month. When I called to inquire, they informed me it was an introductory offer and there was nothing I can do except cancel and still be charged $50. Congratulations WSJ, you screwed me out of $50
Why would I trust anything they print with unscrupulous business practices.

I subscribed to the Wall Street Journal…

I subscribed to the Wall Street Journal about a month or so ago. we have had no paper delivered at least 6 times. The delivery person does not answer her phone or return calls. The call center is in Mexico which makes them difficult to understand. All they do is say i'll credit your account Getting very frustrating.

I gave a gift subscription to a friend

I gave a gift subscription to a friend. WSJ put the wrong name (the name of someone I do not know) on the mailing label. I had to call 4 times to get the name corrected. Customer service admitted the mistake but had no explanation and never apologized. WSJ would not send my gift recipient a note in the mail advising of my gift. They only send email confirmations and my gift recipient does not want her email shared. I will not give another subscription to the WSJ. Extremely poor customer service.

I was scammed in the same way as others…

I was scammed in the same way as others have described. After several months at a low price, they increased my subscription without informing me. When I contacted them, they referred to their subscription policies. Do not trust their low-price subscription scam.

It's a rip-off

It's a rip-off. They start you at a low $20-25 per four weeks (not the full month) and then secretly, without any notification, jack the price up to $72. This is a very deceptive practice of the "Journal" that prides itself on being the most business publication.

Drastic 8X increase in pricing, off promo rate

I am severely disappointed in the business practices of the Wall Street Journal. I was offered a $6 monthly subscription for the duration of one year. After one year transpired, the WSJ jacked up the rate to $49.99 per month -- no communication, no warning, no reminder. So, my business card was charged the 8.3X rate for several months before it came to my attention. When I tried to cancel, THEN they offer me a $5.33 per month rate for (again) another 12 months. I said I would subscribe again at that rate if they applied it retroactively. They would not. So, now the WSJ goes from my "admired" list to my "scorned" list.

Change of Address SNAFU

Sent wsj change of address, paper delivery stopped..3 queries and 7 weeks later..they were sending my papers to some address other than mine, not
my state. ..No inclination to credit the 7 weeks of 'lost' papers. I'll not be renewing

Disgusting, racist articles, completely untrue lies being spewed as fact. Free Palestine, and shame on WSJ.

These people are scum

These people are scum. If you live in zip code that is considered low income you will not receive the benefits of what others get as part of their subscription. This includes the Saturday magazine supplement.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I warn everyone to stay away from any trial subscription. It is just a means to charge you a lot. Customer service is very unhelpful and you have to stay on the line for a very long time to get someone.

Renewal is painful

Renewed subscription I cancelled previously. System didn’t give access once I paid. Couldn’t reach anyone even online, except for an AI who must have learned from an idiot. Guess I will have to call a 1-800 number, but I’m not optimistic given their track record.

it takes 2 e-mails for the customer service to understand

I wrote the customer service because it currently does not show further data of stocks, which it did some days ago. I wrote them, that this issue is regarding publicly available data on their website and not regarding an account or subscription. In the contact form I chose that I don't have an WSJ account.

And the only answer is, that they could not find a subscription with my e-mail address and therefore cannot help.

After writing again, it was forwarded to right department and some hours later the bug was solved.

regarding the news of the WSJ: Not trustable as it's full of negativity, alleged scarcity and irrelevance for my life.

BAIT and SWITCH Subscription Practice

I signed up for an "introductory rate" of $1/week for WSJ digital. After 12 months, it switches to $38/month plus taxes ($41.82). Shame on me for not reading the fine print and realizing the price increased 10X!!!! My wife pays the bills and did not ask me about the charge for 6 months. I cancelled today and am upset at such a bait and switch!!!!

I was surprised to see such a bad…

I was surprised to see such a bad rating for one of the most reliable and well-known newspapers. Okay, there are not many reviews, I guess people just don’t bother to write reviews for one of the most popular mediums.
I appreciate that the Wall Street Journal keep its style of providing long and high-quality news analysis. While everybody else focused on writing short news and clickbait titles, they kept their standards high, respecting the basic postulate of journalism - being objective and informative.

Financially scammed by the WSJ…

Subscribed to WSJ and cancelled in December, 2023. The WSJ continued billing me in January, 2024. I emailed the journal to ask them to stop. It didn’t. I got billed again in February. I called customer support. They refused to refund two months. All the while, I could not access the WSJ due to my earlier cancellation. Scammed and no recourse on my side.
