As a long-term resident of France and with a handful of modest UK pension plans/schemes, I was having trouble obtaining sound advice. One company wasn't interested as I wasn't looking to invest (only draw income); another UK-based firm I suspected might not act in my best interests and/or might not have post-Brexit authorisation for the EU. Mark Smith at Abbey Wealth (based in Spain/Ireland and fully qualified) was recommended by a colleague and stepped into the breach. Two hour-long Teams sessions later (either side of obtaining my scheme details), I am much better informed and have a clear plan of action -- even though in my case that involves no commission for AW. There was a delay of a few weeks over the summer: one person I was dealing with left the company, and I had to persevere a bit to pin down a follow-up session, but the quality and detail of the advice made up for that.

Hi been with Abbey Wealth for a long time now and l was quite happy but now l thing the service has gone downhill. I was with one guy who had no idea what he was doing he lasted a year and my funds lost money in that year. Next one l was advised to move my funds from one platform to another as the charges were lower. I asked would my funds been the same moving them as l know buy and selling there are highs and lows but l was informed the fund amount would be the same and l would not lose anything well it lost overnight and as of today it’s lost more. I know the market is not good at present. But l not happy with the service my account is getting at present. I can’t see many reviews for 2023 online, is that telling me something

I am the executor of my friends will. Abbey Wealth and their supplier Ipensions have been terrible. It is 10 months since he died and the beneficiaries are still awaiting their money, the proceeds of his pension . Don't invest with them. You will never see your money again.

My experience to date over the last 5 years has been exceptional. My current advisor, Christian Holbrook, is extremely professional and approachable. There's no jargon, just easy to follow advice and guidance. I'm delighted with the service and would strongly recommend Abbey.

Abbey Wealth used to be helpful and informative. For some unknown reason this level of service evaporated for a while. Once it was pointed out, I am glad to say that Abbey Wealth rose to the occassion and satisfied all my concerns. Getting used to change takes time and now I feel much better having had a call from the company. Yes, they are good, not only with service but also with results. Only 4 stars because of the glitch.

I first encountered Abbey Wealth (formerly known as Abbey Financial Services) in the early 2000's when I was actively contemplating retirement from my company and prior to purchasing a property in France. I am pleased to say that I was, and continue to be very satisfied with the service which I have received from Abbey, particularly when preparing for retirement and living permanently abroad.
Remy Hart has been my financial advisor at Abbey since May 2022 and my wife and I have been particularly impressed with his measured advice in tailoring our financial requirements to our retirement needs and with his efficiency in dealing with our questions regarding his recommendations.
Overall, we have no hesitation in recommending Abbey Wealth to anyone seeking investment advice which provides essential financial security and peace of mind in retirement.

Mark Smith was excellent at explaining without loosing the client in financial jargon ie. kept a complicated finance matter simple to understand for me as a client. Would recommend.

Sometimes apologies are not enough when clients suffer consequential losses due to alleged poor administration or advice by Financial Agents /Advisors. I will wait to see how my own complaint is dealt with before I post anything specific about Abbey Wealth's services under my contract with them. But my advice is "if you are continually having to chase your advisor to do his job properly and report back, and you are incurring losses as a consequence- there is probably something seriously wrong in their back office".

Had a great call with Mark Smith to help me with my pension plans. His advice was friendly, impartial and incredibly helpful.

Having taken Financial Investment Advice in the UK in 2017 (ahead of retiring to France in 2018), after reviewing various services on offer, we transferred our pensions as recommended by the advisor we appointed.
Initially the service provided appeared good but declined after a couple of years. We removed the advisor from our portfolio and started to monitor the investments ourselves, but in 2021 we realised that the advice we had been given, regarding the transferability of our pensions to our son upon our death, was in fact not allowed.
Indeed they would have had to be cashed, and as our Son lives in Australia, would be liable to Income tax at the higher rate.
It was then that we reviewed the options available to us and approached Abbey Wealth, specifically Mark Smith and Sadie Webb. We had a number of telephone and video calls to discuss the options and felt very confident that our investments would be safer in QROPS.
We started the transfer process in November 2021, unfortunately due to hurdles created by the 2 UK providers, the transfers didn't complete until September 2022. Throughout the transfer period we were kept informed of the status and assisted in responding to the many emails, and telephone calls (with the UK Pension Providers) attempting to dissuade us from making the transfers.
We are sure that we have made the correct decision in appointing Abbey Wealth to manage our pension portfolios and that our son will appreciate the benefits in the future.

During 2022 I was told by my financial adviser at the time that he would no longer be able to represent me in Spain regarding my QROPS due to changes in financial rules and regulations.
This financial adviser put me onto a company called, ÁBBEY WEALTH`.
What a breath of fresh air!!
I was introduced to Abbey Wealth by one of their financial advisers,Remy Hart,who has spoken to me in six months more than my previos adviser spoke to me in seven years!
He has given me confidence in believing in financial institutions once again having had some disastrous experiences in the past! His step by step
explanations, enthusiasm for his work and his desire to help me with my finances is a breath of fresh air.
Zoom calls are a bit difficult for me to get into but Remy has got me there!
I would not hesitate in recommending Remy Hart and Abbey wealth to any of my friends!
Here's to 2023 being a great years for Remy and all who invest with him and Abbey Wealth!

Would give it zero stars if I could. Allowed a vulnerable person to withdraw their whole pension whilst in hospital and unable to get to the phone. We have asked for checks on how this was allowed to happen and not had a valid explanation. So be warned you can withdraw £67k with an email! So someone can impersonate you while you are dying in hospital. This needs secure checks.

We had several advisors during our time with Abbey Wealth, but our final advisor, Remy Hart was particularly efficient and professionally assiduous in assisting us to close our account without having to pay French social charges.
