This review is purely based on our experience booking for our wedding back in August which we booked a band called the riptides through them. We booked through artist management as pressumed we would have all the stress taken away and it would be trouble free. Communication upto the day was pretty good dealing with Nathan. The band manager called me up numerous times prior to the wedding and discussed requirements, sets, etc.
So the day arrives, it gets to 6.00 pm on the day and a band starts setting up, not the band we ordered, massive shock to us. We ask them and they say they’ve been sent as the band we ordered was ill, first we heard , zero communication and absolute shock to us. I ring the manager straight away, terrible terrible attitude, says we should be glad we had a band and they could have sent no one.
Band stays, what transpires, zero stage presence, no crowd participation, absolute shambles. Then to find out these three guys have never met before let alone performed before. What we got was absolute joke and I really hope this never happens to anyone else. This is a warning to make sure you don’t get the riptide’s for your big day, the artist management sorted out a refund but you have to ask yourself is this enough for potentially ruining a day of two years In The planning and 10s of thousands spent! I don’t think it’s enough and the zero communication on our wedding day was beyond disgraceful.

OK but borderline not recommended.

We had the New York Royals as our wedding band. The music they played was very good, they interacted with the crowd and were generally very impressive (five stars). But, the New York Royals website and facebook page is a four piece band where we only got a three piece band - the price we paid was very high for a three piece band (minus one star). The band agree to perform the first dance at 19:00 and go straight into the first set. But they were late. My wife and I were introduced at 19:15, we cut the cake and the band were not ready which meant there was an awkward 10 minutes before we could do the first dance (minus one star). Unfortunately, we paid for the band to perform our first dance (Belong together - Mark Ambor). While the music was tight it was obvious they had not practiced this much (if at all before) because the singer missed out a lot of the lyrics. If i could go back I would do the first dance on CD (minus one star). Another issue was the poor communication. Myself and the venue had not heard from the band until six days before the wedding. We only had e-mails from Artist Management Services, which were functional but not confidence-encouraging. Positives, Artist Management Services gave us a list of bands and we were able to find one that was available and of our style very easily. The band turned up, played some great music and left without any issues. All in all I do not think i would recommend this service to a friend in the future.

Great service

Came across a band who happened to be managed by Artist Management Services, the band I enquired about were not available but the management company were great with providing a range of bands they look after who are available for our date. The whole team were helpful right from enquiring up until the band playing. They were very responsive and answered all my questions promptly. They were very professional. Do not let the poor reviews below put you off, as it almost did with me. I had nothing but great service throughout . The band we booked was Dawson Avenue, who were great! Thanks T

Brilliant service and brilliant band

Brilliant service and brilliant band. We booked CocoMagic nearly two years ago and everything in the lead up was brilliant. They answered all our questions and even adjusted our payment schedule when my wife was made redundant so we couldn't be happier with the booking. My wife has left the band a review on their facebook page but these deserve a mention for their brilliant service.

AVOID DO NOT USE…

Second only to Boris Johnson during the Covid pandemic the communication from Nathan is the worst we’ve experienced.

Certainly does not know how to answer or use a phone… emails back and forth for weeks trying to arrange a band, told multiple times to book and would not confirm. Finally replied to be told a week before the date they’re ’not available because they’ve booked another gig’

Absolute joke of a company and professional time wasters.

My experience with Nathan was excellent. He was utterly professional, very courteous and responsive; my queries were answered promptly and personally. I had no issues with communication.

We had our wedding last Saturday and booked the band through these. The band were absolute quality and the management were fantastic in the lead up answering all our questions. My wife is 30 next year and we’re going to book The City Folk again. Highly recommend.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Appalling lack of communication, refusal to talk on the phone in spite of me having a valid reason to need to speak to them regarding the band we were booking. Emailed Nathan on multiple occasions only to receive yet more promo/spam emails by return selling their services, and talking about my wedding, even though I wasn't booking the band for a wedding. V unprofessional outfit - avoid.

Appalling service. Deeply unprofessional. An utter disgrace.

We booked a band through Artist Management Services well over a year in advance for what was meant to be the most important day of our lives: our wedding on 5 July 2025. What we received was a complete shambles, marked by broken promises, silence when it mattered most, and utter disregard for the emotional and practical damage caused.

With just days to go before the wedding, AMS confirmed that The Sherwoods would not be performing. Instead of proactive support or ownership of the issue, we were fed vague updates, missed deadlines, and ultimately left abandoned. Despite being promised alternative options by a set deadline (10:30am on 1 July), nothing was ever provided. At no point did AMS demonstrate urgency, accountability, or even basic decency.

We were forced, under immense pressure and at considerable cost, to find a replacement band ourselves while juggling the countless other demands that come with planning a wedding. The stress they caused us in those final days is something we will never forget. At a time that should have been joyful, we were instead picking up the pieces of their failure.

The complete absence of communication after our formal termination email speaks volumes. No apology. No explanation. Nothing.

AMS may claim to represent professional musicians, but their handling of this booking was anything but professional. Based on our experience, I would urge others, particularly couples planning weddings, to stay well away.

We trusted them with a core part of our day. They let us down in every possible way.

Great Band and Service

We had initially looked to book a 4-person band through AMS, but once we had liaised with the venue, realised there wasn't enough space. AMS posted through a promotion for a band called 'The Elevation' whose promo video seemed good. AMS informed they would fit the tight space requirements and so we booked them (about 9 months in advance).

In the run up, we had a few queries which were handled well by Nathan and the team. Communications were mostly through email as calling them has a charge (the only downside btw.. you should look into a free number).

Closer to the time AMS liaised with our venue coordinator on the practicalities, which meant we had to pay extra to get them to set up earlier - but expected as the contract was clear and detailed the hours the band are with us for. The band also called the week before to run through things.

On the day, they were quick to introduce themselves and then we held our breath and hoped they were good... Well I'll say The Elevation were absolutely fantastic. Brought energy, a great repertoire and well performed - they really did make the event and provided a playlist for when they weren't playing their sets. Lots of compliments from the crowd - a few of which were professional musicians themselves.

Would use again, but make sure you read and understand the terms and be prepared to communicate via email. They generally respond within a day.

Do not use

We hired the party nuts via artist management services for our wedding in September. It was claimed we would receive 2 sets and djing in between but in actual fact it was an iPad on a tripod that was left unmanned for large portions of our wedding. They asked us to pull some songs from guest recommendations which we did but was left in a playlist that wasn’t curated and whilst no one was manning it it was left to guests and the bride and groom to choose the next song which isn’t what we wanted, bought or expected for our wedding day. The band would leave between their sets to eat our food and drink out the back and weren’t happy to do the service we had paid for between sets. We were so disappointed we called up and emailed Ben and team from Artist management many times in the month after our wedding including on our honeymoon, only to be fobbed off with an email saying they would investigate and also a expensive phone bill as they never answer the phone and you have to pay a premium to ring. They never got back to us with any apology, solution or refund.
I would avoid and book with another company as they are expensive and not worth it.

I would like to do this review on this page i can confirm its been 100% from start and ongoing i have been dealing with a few people including Nathan and adam and his team always been on top class service they have not just one person to deal with i would say they have went that extra mile to support me up to my wedding date next year in my review i would have your own experience and not take notice of review all i got to say thanks you for all support and how u are help me thanks brad

Would not recommend

We ended up cancelling our wedding band contract in the 14 day cool off period. Communication went downhill as soon as money was paid - slow responses, cannot talk on the phone to someone unless they call you (which we requested but no one called). First dance requests cost an extra £100, which is fine, but when we asked to see the list of first dance songs the band already knew to avoid paying extra apparently such a list did not exist… The only positive was we were refunded promptly - have since booked with an alternative management company who are better reviewed

Great band, management needs improvement

We hired a band who are managed by this company. The band was great, I don't want the review to be associated with them. The management was a bit impersonal with their communication, it was always about trying to upsell more services to us. Also we had previously sent over a spotify play list and some instructions for them to give to the band, which we were told was done. On the wedding day after their first set, some of the instructions were followed but some were missed out. They didn't play our Spotify play list. An hour later I had to speak to the band singer to text him over a link to the playlist as he had never been sent it by the management. They were always on the ball when it came to payments, but then messed up with their own communications.

We used Artist Management Services…

We used Artist Management Services recently to book a band (The Elevation) for our wedding in Pickering on 16th October this year. My dealings with them were very positive and I found them very professional. However, before our wedding I did find myself becoming increasingly concerned after reading the negative reviews on here. I needn’t have worried. Kevin, Jason and Ellie were fantastic and the band were absolutely brilliant. Myself, my wife and our guest had an amazing evening and I would highly recommend this company and the bands they work with based our experience.

Not even 1 star!

There should be an option for zero stars on here.
Absolute chancers, taking deposits and refusing to refund when given well over a years notice. We know they have the date rebooked again already so they haven’t lost out but still refuse to refund.
Shame as the band look excellent, but the management company are utter con artists, I’m assuming with the bands consent.
For anyone looking to book or use them, just avoid. Save yourself the time and stress of dealing with this scam outfit.

Poor / rude / aggressive approach

Following a request to change date we were told we had to pay the balance of the booking even though the band were not available on our new date, we were told we would be taken to court by the band if we didn’t pay the outstanding balance. Following a long drawn out process we were offered a goodwill payment but a fraction of what we had already paid. They’re basically conning people out of money, we’ve reported them to companies house and the insolvency services for scamming people with outrageous admin charges to cancel and move. They’re blatantly ignoring the laws around frustrated contacts due to Covid and blanetly ripping couples off. Avoid

Rude, cutthroat and uncaring

Be aware if you are booking a band these are a cutthroat management company who are rude and then refuse to refund your deposit claiming that despite over a years notice and covid reasons for cancellation that it has cost them £400 in admin! Not happy, not reasonable and particularly at thee moment when people are so stressed and upset with weddings

Without them we honestly couldn’t have survived this year. If you want a management team that are efficient, tell it how it is and deliver, we’d recommend them every day of the week.
