Brought GOLF GTI white one = £19k, all was ok for the 1st 24hrs, then Sunday morning the car did not start! Called their breakdown cover which came with the car to be told, “cover don’t start for 48hrs and not covered at home” good job we had AA. They came out, said that the battery on the car was not a stop start battery and it needed replacing, spoken auto trade and told them that the battery needs replacing in which I was told need to call the warranty company (but batteries are not covered) I said that I would pay £235 but expected to be reimbursed in which I was told they couldn’t do that. I paid the money and hopefully sort out after as it was 3:50pm on a Sunday and the garage said he could not authorise as no one here. Car started went for a drive no issues, then Monday morning again it did not start, as you can imagine I have paid £19k for a car that is not working so I spoken to them and said that I was refusing the car under the consumer rights act 2015 and wanted a full refund. Well this is when the fun and games started. Car is faulty but I had to pay for the privilege to get the car back 107 miles away, £2 per mile plus VAT if they come to get it or £1 per mile plus VAT if I took it back. I agreed to take it back to them and call AA for a tow. I did seek legal advice and the law is on my side, the car did not start all week, then Friday morning we took items out the car and guess what it started 1st time (like it was a sign that it knew it was going back) they did offer to take the car to be looked at but after paying that amount of money you don’t expect to have a car that don’t work less than 24hrs later. Car went back Friday, and this is how they get you. Had to sign an agreement to say that I would not take them to small claims court, no social media post, and if I didn’t then money would not be refunded, we had no choice. I tried to negotiate but they would not budge, no empathy, no I’m sorry, nothing. Oh and they gave us a key that was also faulty (no key blade) it was been an awful week trying to sort everything out, it’s been very stressful. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! BUYER BEWARE! (I can write this post as it was my husband that brought the car)

Lia was really friendly over the phone and helped me find the perfect car for me, she organised a test drive for me within the same week I noticed the car advert and when I visited she made me feel welcome. Andy was also really friendly and gave me good advice on my new car. They weren't pushy to sell, just wanted me to make up my own mind on the car which was really nice and I would recommend to anyone!

made it super easy to purchase a car, informed me with everything about the car, the test drive was unaccompanied which gave me time to figure out if i wanted to purchase the car. would highly recommend and will be purchasing any future cars with them. Matt was excellent from start to finish, he was upfront and honest and didn’t try to oversell anything

If truth be known I had absolutely no idea buying a car was such a daunting task. Especially when you’re not mechanically minded. I can honestly say that all my worries were soon laid to rest by everyone at autotrade southwest being so Warm & friendly. There is no pressure to purchase, every question was answered to the best of their knowledge & if they don’t know they will find out & come back to you. The aftercare is even better. This I also experienced a few times through no fault of anyone’s. I feel that they genuinely care about their customers even after purchase which for me is more important than the purchase. No problem is to big. They went above & beyond to help where they could. I cannot fault anyone nor the way they handle things & would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to buy a car.

Unlike the clearly fake reviews on this website, this was is actually a true experience. They are very pushy when it comes to putting a deposit on a vehicle, saying it is “refundable” and it required for a test drive. But when you don’t like the car they say they won’t refund you. So glad I didn’t purchase my vehicle from them, I would avoid this at place at all costs.

I wanted to use a dealers rather than buy privately. I am glad I did as Lia made the process very smooth and was not the typical car salesperson. I would highly recommend using them. Thank you Lia 😊

Bought a car from Autotrade Southwest at the weekend, and had a very positive experience. Tom was friendly and helpful, and dealt with my questions and all the paperwork professionally and with ease. I have only had the car for a day, but it drove beautifully on the way home! Would recommend.
