What a waste of time
What a waste of time. Supposedly neutral. In regards to Banfield pet hospital Bbb rates that corporation as a 5 for thier response in addressing complaints.
Banfield simply saved face did not address my concerns was not transparent. Reduced my valid issues to a record request.
The BBB chose to side with the BBB finding thier response as acceptable and continues to give Banfield a high rating. However the BBB ignores the incredible amount of unsatisfied customers leaving poor shameful reviews.
What a hypocritical posture. It's not consumer focused.

We decided to protect our brand new GLC 300 and made arrangements to bring it to Unique Auto Detailing Corp. in Stouffville.
We had a neighbouring shop install running boards on our car and the vehicle was passed on directly to Michael from that shop, upon going to give Michael a deposit for the work he was going to do I had noticed five distinctive chips on the front bumper, I informed Michael and he said “how does a car with 100km have stone chips?” I knew full well these were not stone chips and further noticed damage to the two front fender flares. Neither shops took responsibility for the damage and neither shop reported prior damage to the car before accepting delivery of it. In the end we had to pay over 2K to fix the damages. This was the beginning of our nightmare.
In lapse of better judgement, we still proceeded with the work with Michael and we would take the car to get the damages fixed and bring it back for him to complete. He had the vehicle for a month and in that time we noticed some red flags, as he never wrote anything down, and there was some disagreements on the certain things we discussed that we wanted done. The car was not ready when it was supposed to be, but due to family issues on his part, we were okay with that. On the day prior to us pick up, we noted on the GPS that the car was moved to another location in the area. We were never informed that our car would be moved and or taken somewhere else. Once we finally did come to get the car, there were inconsistencies in the progress of work and we pointed out black portions of the car were scuffed and poor workmanship of the PPF (bubbling, lifting, stretching and dirt underneath). Michael stated the scuffs were there when we brought it in and that the other things would correct itself once the car was driven. This is incorrect. At this point, we knew we would not be bringing the car back and asked what we owed to release the car, paid him and left. Throughout this process, we expressed to him how much stress this was causing and even questioned him on if he had done this type of work before as the work spoke for itself.
On the drive home, we noticed the interior coating was blotchy and a distinct line where the seatbelt was never moved. A poorly done job.
The following day and in better lighting, we further inspected the work and we noticed knife marks on the side mirrors. More poor work and another expense to replace.
We brought the car to a couple other places to find out what it would cost to fix what had been done. At this point, we are out 5K in money and now have to pay another shop to remove and redo the work
In light of this, we decided to give Michael a chance to rectify this situation and his part in the matter. We arranged a time to meet and after we came to his shop, he had some excuse as to why he was not there. We decided to show up unannounced this past Monday, March 9 so he couldn't avoid us. We remained cordial and advised him of the issues and concerns we had and how as a business owner he would rectify the situation. While he never showed any sympathy or offered an apology and most of our concerns were met with smirks and smart remarks, he did offer to fix our seats but at this point the trust we had in him was long gone. In good conscience, we could not bring back our car to someone with such poor quality work and lack of trust and a general excuse for everything, so we asked what type of compensation he thought fair. He advised that he could not give us an answer at this time and needed to discuss it with his wife. This statement did not make sense to us as we never met his wife, nor did we have any idea she was involved in his day-to-day business. We obliged and said take until the end of the week and advise us what you have decided. It is now Sunday; March 15 and we never received a reply from Michael. Disappointed none-the-less and posting this along with photos to warn others.
BBB is a joke
I wish I could give one star, what a joke Koho let a fraudster scam my account then they change my email. to a compromised email. BBB did nothing its a joke seriouls why even have them they did nothing. patheic. They don't intervien they say nothing and do nothing. Its just a open foreum for people to talk. Seriously shut them down if they have no function.
Saddistic mindset
They are run by people with a maid mentality. And they think it is strategy and accountability.
All you're doing is wasting your time with the BBB
The BBB has become a complete scam. They wasted the last five months going back and forth between me and a business. The business acted in a deceptive way, yet the BBB still stood by the business's perspective. The business settled several lawsuits over those five months with different State Attorney Generals, again for deceptive business practices, yet the BBB still stood by the business. Finally today I got an email saying my case was closed because the business tried to resolve it and I would not accept their resolution. I did not accept it because it's an illegal deceptive business practice, but the business never offered a legal solution. Don't waste your time with the BBB.
Most of the time it's a waste of time…
Most of the time it's a waste of time to submit a complaint or review to them. Its bullcrap they have to review it and think its good enough to be posted/submitted.
Every single review or complaint should be posted or submitted whether a company or website like what the person says or not. Its called freedom of speech and everyone goes through their own experience. Every complaint and review is valid.
Bbb needs to do better and actually help.
Was told that my warranty for my tv is…
Was told that my warranty for my tv is no longer available. GEEK SQUAD AT BEST BUY said they sent an email. so many recorded scam mails from GEEK SQUAD in email I would call them up. Always told me that don't worry its just spam. REALLY I guess those email weren't spam because NOW I HAVE NO WARRANTY ON MY 2000.00 TV. I called across the world to find out that they will not bend to make the wrong right and just say in broken English 'so sorry but we can't help you.
They cherry pick the reviews they accept
Wrote a negative review about a bullion exchange (Victoria Bullion Exchange) that cost me over $20,000 CAD, because they violated FINTRAC regulations and sent the funds elsewhere. BBB deleted the review and continues to give them an A+ rating.
BBB is a scam
The BBB is literally just a scam where corporations pay for accredation and good ratings. It's 2025 - if real people are rating a business at 1.1 out of 5 stars - you need to take that into the score you give them.
BBB use to be worthwhile and help…
BBB use to be worthwhile and help consumers now all they do is take your complaint for these big companies close it saying there is nothing you can do and these big companies can now treat you anyway they want to without any consequences. I think its time someone makes a new company that actually works for the consumer all this place does is shield these big companies from anything happening the BBB is officially dead!!!!
This actually should result in zero…
This actually should result in zero starts. The BBB makes this claim:
"The BBB Seal, it's The Sign of a Better Business SM
In a market saturated with companies vying for customers, BBB Accreditation gives consumers confidence that they're dealing with an ethical and vetted business.
Apply for BBB Accreditation and show customers that your company operates honestly and with integrity."
Of course like most of these "consumer" advocates nothing could be further than the truth. I was antagonized for nearly four hours of rude and profoundly unprofessional customer "service" from Amazon. It was beyond anything I ever experienced. I was lied to repeatedly and I will detail a specific example.
My complaint was actually 4 different issues. The agent ignored 2 of them completely and never addressed them at all. The other two were responded to with blatant gaslighting and a dismissive brush off.
When the agent offered me a 10.00 coupon for the conduct of their staff which was insulting I told them a year of free prime might cover it but this was an insult. He responded back and said that the most they can offer is 10.00 per policy. Well I've gotten credits for more than 10.00 multiple times in the past for problems with their employees so that was a blatant lie. Now I can make the claim it's a lie but I actually brought the proof.
While the "complaint" was active I made another call and experienced a rerun of what I experienced the first time. Ironic how our "feedback" which they claim is taken seriously seems to have little impact on their horrible corporate culture. I pushed the issue and demanded to speak to a supervisor which they always try to block.
I wasn't dropping it until i got to a supervisor and he was profoundly apologetic and offered me a 100.00 credit to my account.
I responded back with the details, pointing out that in addition to the agent at Amazon ignoring half of the complaints, he lied. It's not my opinion that he lied it was proven because another agent did do more.
The BBB responded that they closed the case because Amazon made their position clear and they retain their A rating on the site.
I would like the BBB to explain how the conduct of this company falls into the category of operating with honesty and integrity?
The BBB uses a dangling carrot for businesses to sign up for their services. They should be stripped of their tax exempt status. They are not consumer advocates. They are no more than a middle man for businesses to pay to be on a directory of businesses the organization endorses as ethical and operating with "integrity".
Believing their "ratings" or relying on them as an advocate is a waste of time. The only thing they do is contact the business on your behalf and shuffle messages back and forth. Something you can do on your own get the same exact results.
Amazon's lack of integrity and ethics is only matched by the BBB lack of integrity and ethics. They set their entire system up to give people a false impression they advocate on our behalf.
They advocate on their behalf.
Better Business Bureau
BBB: will do nothing to help anyone out. They close your complaint stating you have not responded when I did respond to the email request; and sent the copy of the receipt of the company work order as requested by the email. It no longer helps out customers to resolve issues. They are for the company ONLY. Don't Bother with them they won't help
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) SUCKS…
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) SUCKS NOW! What are they there for.. what's the website for??? They're completely USELESS! Hope the Canadian Tax Payers aren't paying for this too?!!
Better Business B!tches
The BBB is not a Better Business Bureau — it’s the “Bend-Over for Big Brands” Bureau. My complaint against Airbnb was met with zero investigation, zero verification, and zero accountability. BBB acted like a glorified message board, letting Airbnb copy-paste a canned dismissal while they rubber-stamped it and moved on.
I’ve done my homework — I even went and corrected the BBB’s own history on Wikipedia so the whole world can see through their Windex-polished façade. Those shiny A+ ratings? Bought. Paid for. And completely meaningless.
If you’re a consumer without corporate connections or deep pockets, BBB won’t lift a finger for you. They don’t protect the public. They protect the brands that pay them. Period.
Unresponsive - and they can't judge what they don't do
They have no definition for "good faith effort" nor offer constructive terms (that might be used as a checklist guide). I asked a mediator in the mid-south for help and never got a reply from them about the process I was in. Instead of answering At All, they closed it; ironically stating "good faith effort" from the other business as the ONLY reason - proving their employees must be trained to do the exact opposite of "mediation" or know how to communicate "toward a resolution." How can they possibly be set to help or judge, or accredit other businesses? They simply don't train employees to do what they say, even if asked 2 basic questions regarding their process. The irony is laughable but wasting your time is nothing to scoff at => My latest podcast episode: "Real Businesses Don't Need the BBB" to watch over them. The BBB is only money-hungry. It stops there.
Reality check: addressing questions is a necessary part of making "good faith effort" so when BBB can't get their own employees to answer legit questions about their process... they're unable to exist as helpers for businesses to do this either. (Why they can't see this truth, who knows. But its crazy!)
**They let you respond to whether or not you "accept" but in reality - they undo an "I don't accept" within 5 minutes! ... so why do they ask?? The answer to that stands as solid proof they don't care how you feel about a resolution being reached. They do however, have no problems with turning things around, taking opportunities away, choosing not to help, and simply not caring. I feel 100% that is the goal of at least the employee I dealt with today.
"I Never Thought I’d Be Homeless
"I Never Thought I’d Be Homeless — Until Blacklight Security Forced Me Out"
By Anonymous
I never imagined I’d lose my home this way — suddenly, brutally, and without anyone stepping in to stop it.
I was living a quiet, modest life. Paying rent. Keeping to myself. Doing everything right — or so I thought. Then, without proper notice or any real explanation, my landlord, Blacklight Security and Investigative Services, decided it was time for me to go. No options. No support. Just the cold reality that I was being kicked out of the only stability I had.
The name might sound like a company protecting people — but in my case, Blacklight felt like the opposite. They made a decision, forced it through, and walked away, leaving me to figure out how to survive.
I tried to reach out for help. I contacted housing support workers, legal aid, shelters. But the system is overwhelmed, and I quickly found myself slipping through the cracks. One day I had a home. The next, I was carrying my life in two bags, trying to figure out where I could sleep without fearing for my safety.
This didn’t happen because I was irresponsible or ungrateful. It happened because we live in a system where landlords hold all the power, and where people like me are treated as disposable.
I’ve since learned that Blacklight Security and Investigative Services has a reputation — one built not on protection, but on displacement and intimidation. What they did to me was not just unfair — it was inhumane. And yet, they continue to operate, unchecked.
This isn’t just my story. This is happening to people all over the city — quietly, constantly. And it needs to stop.
🔊 Call to Action
Hold landlords like Blacklight Security and Investigative Services accountable.
Demand your local housing authorities investigate their practices.
Share stories like mine — so the public sees what’s happening behind closed doors.
Support tenant rights organizations and legal aid groups fighting back.
Being homeless is not a personal failure — it’s the result of a broken, profit-driven system where landlords answer to no one. It’s time for that to change.
If you’re reading this and you still have a home — know how quickly it can be taken away. And if you’ve already lost yours like I did — you’re not alone.
We deserve better. And we need to start demanding it.
The BBB’s National Structure Actively Suppresses Consumer Complaints
This review applies to both the BBB Mid-South and the IABBB—because they operate as a single, coordinated system. I filed seven formal complaints against FedEx, detailing ongoing delivery failures, false statements, and a complete lack of resolution. Instead of investigating or enforcing accountability, the BBB helped suppress the record.
On February 18, 2025, the IABBB instructed BBB Mid-South to merge all of my past and future complaints into a single open file. They confirmed that even fully documented complaints would not be treated as new, would be hidden from public view, and would not be marked “Unresolved”—even if the issue was never addressed. BBB Mid-South complied. Valid, ongoing issues were buried.
The BBB also confirmed in writing that unless a complaint includes a tracking number, the business is not required to read it. This policy conveniently filters out countless unresolved delivery issues, even when the company is at fault.
Worse, the IABBB admitted that a business only needs to submit a response—not a truthful one, not a complete one—for a case to be closed. There is no requirement that the business address the complaint’s actual content, nor any follow-up to ensure resolution.
Throughout this process, the BBB and IABBB repeatedly cited “policy” as justification for their actions—yet refused to provide that policy in writing, even after multiple requests. Meanwhile, the only published complaint-handling policies and “Standards for Trust” on their own websites directly contradict how my case was handled. This confirms the policies are being selectively enforced—or ignored altogether.
This is not a fluke—it’s institutional. Every regional BBB must follow IABBB directives. Consumers in any state can have their complaints silenced, and companies can avoid accountability with one vague reply.
This system doesn't just harm consumers. It harms small and medium businesses that pay for accreditation in good faith. When the BBB protects large corporations that fail customers, it damages the credibility of every business associated with the BBB’s brand. Accreditation becomes a liability—not a symbol of trust.
The BBB promotes itself as a nonprofit—but its actions prioritize reputation management over consumer protection. If you’ve experienced similar misconduct, file your complaint with the FTC, your state Attorney General, and your state’s consumer protection agency. The BBB may ignore you—but those agencies won’t. If enough people speak up, this system of suppression will be exposed.

Is actually a scam. The purpose of this organization is to sell BBB certificates to the merchant.
It's a form of raket. if the merchant does not pay, he has a bad rating. However, if the merchant pays the BBB seal, he is protected, he will receive a perfect rating and will never be bothered by customer complaints.
