I had some yesterday and everybody’s right – they’re now awful. Practically inedible.

Because I’m rather sad I did some research: The older recipe used 40% turkey and had a proper 13% cheese filling that melted into a creamy garlic centre. The current version contains less turkey (38%) and is bulked out with pea fibre, pea starch, rusk and modified maize starch, which makes the texture feel more padded-out and less like real meat.

The filling has changed even more noticeably. Instead of a real cheese centre, it is now mostly cheese powder, milk powders, milk protein, lactose and coconut fat. This creates a thinner, more artificial and powdery-tasting centre compared to the creamy filling it used to have.

Overall, the product now relies on far more fillers, starches and additives, and the quality has dropped significantly. It tastes like a cost-reduced, ultra-processed version of what it once was. I won’t be buying it again unless the company returns to a better recipe.

Hugely disappointed with the change in product.This is one of my sons favourite foods and with him having a very limited diet, it has had a huge impact on him. He literally ate these everyday in life. Why change something that didn’t need changed. At first I hoped it was just the packaging that changed, but when I gave them to my son his words where ‘they are stinking!’. Please please go back to the original recipe. I’m at a loss 😭😭😭

I've eaten mini Kiev's since I was a young child, what the hell have they done to them! Yuk I wouldn't feed them to my dogs now 😭

Why have the kievs changed? They were an autistic safe food and I almost vomited with the texture and taste of the new ones. Bring back the old ones!!!!

Omg what has happened to them? They used to be delicious wee garlic chicken bites. Just made some, are one and threw the rest in the bin. They are to put it mildly rancid. They are mushy, tastes really weird and gone is that delicious garlicky centre. No idea what's in them now but I didn't taste any garlic. They are truly awful. Definitely one to avoid now. C'mon Bernad Matthews. Bring back the original tasty recipe. This creation is bloody awful!!!

Whoever was in charge of the recipe change for Mini Kievs needs sacking ASAP.
What was once a genuinely tasty product is now absolutely disgusting (to put it lightly).
I almost vomited when I tried one. Mushy, tasteless, not a hint of garlic....and at a greater price. Absolutely shocking.

Steer well clear of these little balls of faeces.

As a big brand, Bernard Matthews should be ashamed at the abysmal quality of the products they are sending out to the shelves of shops. Consumers deserve better than this!

Would give a 0 star if I could. The old recipe was a great comfort food but this new recipe is absolutely terrible. They look uncooked even when cooked as the new breadcrumbs don't brown, the turkey meat is vile and the new sauce inside is a clumpy mess.

New recipe for the mini kievs have taken them from really nice to disgusting and inedible flavourless mushballs. Not convinced they contain any turkey or garlic whatsoever anymore, bad enough that I'm taking time out my day to write a mini Kiev review.

Hopefully whoever approved the changed gets fired and the original recipe that actually qualifies as food gets brought back, don't see the company lasting long otherwise

What has happened to the mini kievs?!
I brought a bag recently and cooked some for my daughter last night, she used to love these,but after eating one she asked if I had cooked them properly, which I had,I tasted one and spat it out in disgust,it was a warm mushy paste inside which tasted absolutely disgusting, nothing at all like they were originally, I definitely wont be buying these again 👎🏻

Wtf has gone wrong with these. It's like eating warm mushy leaves. Won't buy again and have binned the rest of the bag. Trying to save a bit of cash on the back of taste. WTF is going on. They were never gourmet but I won't even feed them to my dog. Wrong turn guys. I feel sick

What on earth as happened. Always bought these in bulk and the kids loved them until now! I have just bought several more bags and noticed the packing had changed and thought nothing of it. Gave the kids some and they just spat them out and complained that they tasted horrible and disgusting. We are all amazed as to why they have changed them into tasteless mush that we will not be buying ever again. Kids are upset as they loved them. Tut tut lots of sales lost I guess

They’ve changed the recipe for the mini Kiev’s , it was like chewing on a hard bit of cardboard with a tasteless herby small amount of filling , what a waste of time and money get it sorted your food products are becoming non edible

Being a parent of someone who's nerodiverse (autistic) the mini Kiev balls are part of his safe food he will only eat, so to change the bag was bad enough but obvious changes to the recipe as well it is a kick in the balls too much !!
The grey tasteless mush replaces what once !!

Decided to have some of my absolute favourites for tea, however, that Glaswegian mam shouting "Disgusten!" comes to mind, bland, spongey turkey (if you can call it that), beige breading, not golden as they used to be, and the filling, I can only describe it as a bland paste-like substance that tastes like someone had grated cheese with their feet while having a fungal nail infection. Someone behind a desk made a decision to cut cost by cutting out what made Bernard Matthews Mini Kievs great and they need to be given the sack. Now I'm hangry, because someone did a Jamie Oliver and messed with something they shouldn't be messing with.

What have you done, brought some today as my son loves these. Being autistic its hard to get him to eat as he so fussy.
He took one bite and spat it out. There absolutely tasteless, dry and worse then the own brand store food.
Being a well known brand name your have gone downhill. After a big autistic overload from my son, I will now have to avoid anything from your range.
I said to my son, who do you think they had on the taste test panel. His reply was... pepper pig.

CHEAP KNOCK OFF......Do not buy these...its a cheap con job.. they have turned a childhood memory into mush...my dog loves em...but thats all they are good for....waste of money and time...put the old recipe back in place...

These are absolutely awful just wasted my money on them I couldn’t even eat 1 they was absolutely vile nothing like the original and look NOTHING like the image throwing the rest in the bin

Place a joke. Was only security guard with SIA hence no one had a clue ,, basically wheel washing getting soaked in car parks no PPE issued . Waste of week , supervisor a joke illusions of grandeur , no idea about security or much else … Don’t waste your time , toxic …

Ruined mini kievs.

They've gone from around 15 kievs (you got 14-16 to 13 (I got 12).

The quality is what's done it though, I would still pay the same for 13 kievs instead of 15 but they're now beyond bad.

The first clue was how uniform in size and shape they were, perfect little spheres with a scattering of breadcrumbs.

The second clue was that they didn't pop in the oven. When they popped the creamy sauce used to leak out and you knew they were done. These didn't do that as there was no sauce inside but something that looked like clear slime with no flavour.

They were absolutely horrid and the last time I but them and probably Bernard Matthews products again.

Bought turkey kievs from Iceland.tastless crap!!! Then looked at country of origin....Poland. Bernard Mathew is turning in his grave will never buy his products again.
