The concept is simple, picture a ski resort, remove the snow and replace the pistes with an array of sweeping flowy bike trails meandering to the bottom of the mountain and you are close. Add a bunch of adrenalin and big sprinkle of fun and you are pretty much there. BikePark Wales is an exhilarating way to spend your day in the Welsh mountains.

An absolutely jaw dropping experience…
An absolutely jaw dropping experience me and my son went and boy was it amazing! So many trails and so many different lines you can take.
I recommend trails like A470 and AC/DC which you can go to straight after the uplift - highly recommend, worth the price

On my eleventy billionth visit I was possibly thinking it can’t possibly be as good as last time but no. As usual it has got better. New trails are good, old ones given a bit of TLC and all the staff still friendly and helpful. The sun shone, and most of the vans even had air conditioning (!) Golden times in the valleys…

The team are all friendly and helpful. The tracks are varied and challenging for all. We found that the cafe and shop were very reasonably priced and the whole experience is pitched just right. We will be back!

Trails great
Trails great. Cafe great.
Appears to be no planning of when the vans go up and down. Either all the trucks waiting to be filled and zero sense of urgency to fill them or none. I appreciate the rate riders will descend is random and difficult to plan for but I’ve been more than 10 times to BPW and this is always the case. The drivers arrive at the collection point. Have a chat. Fill their water bottle. Slow down another driver who’s ready to leave with a chat. Then when they are good and ready starts the thinking about loading up the next lot of bikes. I really don’t understand. It’s just repeat of the thing they did before.
It cannot be to control the flow of bikes on the trails because more often than not you arrive at the top with 4 other vans. Shambles.
Great setup runined by poor organisation.

We're pleased you enjoyed the trails and café, but we're sorry to hear the uplift operation left you feeling frustrated.
Believe it or not, the flow of our uplift fleet is very carefully planned and managed throughout the day. While we appreciate that it may not always look that way from the queue, there is a lot going on behind the scenes to balance rider demand, vehicle movements, loading procedures and safety.
You mentioned drivers stopping for a drink or chatting with colleagues. Our drivers spend all day on the hill, often in challenging weather conditions, and especially during the recent heatwave they're absolutely entitled to grab water and look after themselves. The conditions have been tough for everyone working outdoors, and rider and staff welfare has to remain a priority 👍
During particularly warm and dry periods, we also intentionally space vehicle departures. The uplift roads generate a significant amount of dust, and allowing some separation between vehicles helps improve driver visibility and reduces the amount of dust being breathed in by both drivers and riders. It's an important safety measure for everyone on the mountain.
Whilst we appreciate the wait may not always feel ideal from a rider's perspective, it's certainly not a case of poor organisation or a "shambles", it's about operating a busy uplift service safely while looking after both customers and staff.

Terrible customer service
Little one fell ill and despite having made the 4 hour trip the night before we decided we would have to cancel and go home.
I asked BPW if i could rebook onto a new uplift on another date and they simply refused. Bear in mind this was a Friday booking and it was not full. All it would have cost them is 30 seconds of admin.
Why they feel the need to be so awkward / abrasive with their customers I do not know.
Corporate greed perhaps?
Either way they have now lost a customer and I will inevitably voice my experience moving forwards.

We completely understand your disappointment, especially after making the journey and having to make the difficult decision to head home.
Unfortunately, our booking and cancellation policies need to be applied consistently for all riders, regardless of the reason for cancellation. Whilst we appreciate that your uplift wasn't fully booked, the space had been allocated and reserved for your booking, which is why we weren't able to transfer or refund it outside of our stated terms.
This certainly wasn't a case of being awkward or unwilling to help, but rather applying the same policy fairly across all bookings.
We do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and wish your family all the best.

Visited BPW from Newcastle (6 hour…
Visited BPW from Newcastle (6 hour drive) for 2 days with my 2 nephews who are 14 & 10, we had a brilliant time, they absolutely loved it. Stuck to blues on the first day and for the first run on the 2nd day, then started on the reds which were just fantastic, A470 is magic, could quite happily just do that trail over and over.
Unfortunately my younger nephew got a slap off his pedal late in the day which ended our time riding as he couldn’t continue as he cut his leg (5 stitches).
Thanks to Alex and Hendric in the first aid shed who cleaned him up and guided us to the minor injuries hospital.
Cannot wait to get back ( with shin guards) .

Mega mega place only negative thing I…
Mega mega place only negative thing I can say is compared to other bike parks they run the uplift to slow for me and have people waiting in the Que when there are three buses waited to be loaded. They need to load the vans quicker and get people gone so more runs can be done . Will be coming again tho

While we always aim to get riders up the hill as efficiently as possible, there's also a balance to be struck between speed and safety when loading bikes and riders. The uplift loading area can be a very busy environment, so managing the flow of people and making sure bikes are loaded safely is a key priority for the team 👍
We know everyone wants to maximise their runs, and we're constantly looking at ways to improve the experience while maintaining a safe operation for both riders and staff.

Had the weirdest experience where i…
Had the weirdest experience where i called up a number to cancel uplift/equipment hire who said they were Bikepark Wales and confirmed cancellation and refund - had this all on whats app. After the day it turned out they weren't Bikepark but the local campsite near Bikepark wales!! Explained to Bikepark wales and they said they would look at case. They refused a refund/voucher saying the bikes i hired had been prepped and ready and unable to be used by anyone else. Problem is i hadn't booked any bikes so they clearly didn't bother looking at the case and just kept the money regardless. I don't mind them not refunding me or giving me a voucher as i clearly made an error. But to not even look at my booking to get the facts before they make a decision is very poor.

We're sorry this situation left you feeling frustrated. It was certainly an unusual set of circumstances and we do appreciate how easy it would have been to assume you'd contacted the correct business.
We'd just like to clarify one point: we did review your booking before responding. There was however a misunderstanding in our communication regarding the hire items on the booking. When we view bookings internally, hire equipment is often displayed using serial numbers and equipment codes. On this occasion, we mistakenly referred to your protection hire as bike hire when explaining our decision.
That said, please be assured that the booking itself was reviewed.
The decision wasn't made without looking into the details of the reservation.
We appreciate your honesty in acknowledging that the original mix-up wasn't caused by BPW, and we're sorry the communication around our response wasn't clearer.

Myself and my husband had a fabulous…
Myself and my husband had a fabulous time at BPW it is very well organised, plenty of different trails for all capabilities, the staff were very friendly, we both had very tasty and healthy salad bowls for lunch. I'm not the most confident rider but 3 runs down Kermit and I improved so much, I was able to tackle a few blues I am definitely coming back.

Great day out
Excellent facility. First time here, had to supervise my son so I was a bit concerned - my mountain biking is rusty to say the least - but the trails were well organised and the flow blues were easy for anyone with some mtn bike balance, clearly got a lot harder though for tech challenges.
I had been dropped off for the day and there was no-where to leave a bag (didn't need supervising so an open locker would have been useful). Other than that it was all fantastic.

The trails
The trails, the grading, the info was very well communicated allowing us to make decisions on the most appropriate trail. The visitor centre looks very professional. It was my first visit and can’t wait to come back.

The uplift is super quick and…
The uplift is super quick and borderline luxurious compared with other bike parks. The trails are plentiful and excellent. Food is great. Coffee is great. Besides speeding up their development of additional trails to better link the park together, there's nothing to fault and a lot to enjoy.

A totally sick day at BPW
Parking was easy. Check in for the uplift was really quick. I mean seconds. Uplifts were really regular and always waiting for you at the bottom. Drivers were really friendly. The food in the cafe was great and great value. Toilets were clean and tidy and the trails were in fantastic condition with 51 of them open. A really great day and worth every penny.

Great place
Great place, lots of great trails to try, even if your not riding, there is lots of outdoor covered space to chill out or work from whilst others ride.
They even have Glutton free food options which was a result for my celiac son.

Just some fabulous mountainbiking!
Ive been before, I dont drive so i come by train.. thats the horrible bit.. that and riding up the hill from the station!.. As for the Bike Park, its absolutely fantastic. Im an ex 1990's XC racer and i absolutely love the trails at BPW. I stick to the Blue trails. The visitors centre has all you need from a bcon butty to a BPW tshirt. The staff are very friendly too. Hats off also to the Uplift drivers.. I'll be back soon

We keep coming back...
We have been visiting BPW for almost 10 years now and it never disappoints. We are 3 riders between the ages of 45 and 54 now, and whilst we aren't the most accomplished riders (Reds and Blues only really), BPW continues to entice. This week has seen our 4th visit this year and we have several more planned before Christmas. The constant improvements to the facilities, additional trails and the overall trail maintenance means its a joy to return each time. The staff are brilliant and the whole experience caters for all riders, no matter what your capabilities are. Its a great place practice skills, test yourself, and have fun doing it. I simply cannot recommend BPW enough! Long may it continue to set the standard for UK Bile Parks.
