Cold stony faced staff
I went in to buy some new walking trousers and the range was great and I found what I wanted straight away so bought them and carried on shopping elsewhere. I then found the same trousers in craghoppers £10 cheaper so returned to Black's to return the more expensive pair. The assistant who served me didn't seem very happy I was now returning them and was very cold and barely spoke and had a face like thunder and when I turned to go and said bye I was met with silence. Black's staff are normally great but this person really let the side down.

Brilliant customer service
The young lady in the shop went out of her way to make a sale by being incredibly helpful. Not content with finding me the fleece that I wanted, at a competitive price, she then went on to arrange home delivery, and to ask me about my affiliations with organisations: alighting upon the National Trust, I got a further discount.
This young lady is an absolute credit to Blacks.

Great experience
Great experience. I was bought a Berghaus jacket (present) from our local store but needed to exchange for another size. They didn’t have my size in stock, so they checked online and ordered a replacement for me there and then. It was delivered to my home the next day. Perfect 👍

Mike was brilliant!
Mike went above and beyond in assisting me choose some new walking boots. He had so much knowledge and recommendations about the right fit for me, and helped me make the right choice. I even got some socks on his recommendation that I think are going to make my hikes so much easier. Thanks Mike!

Helpful staff

Called in looking for Rab gilet, and was assisted by a young lady Charlotte, who was very helpful. As I didn't know my size she informed me that if my size was not in stock she would get me one sent to my house foc. Overall a great experience and a delightful young lady. Me male 79 year old.
