Using a salvage company in general has a downside, simply because your car is finished and you are now out money as and therefore feeling pretty low. My low mileage car unfortunately had head gasket issue and told i’d need to buy a new car. Most sites i used were giving me minimum so i decided to use Scrap Car Comparison. They made me aware that BMS Salvage would offer me the best amount in my circumstances. This was followed up with both a telephone call and email. I accepted the offer and a sale agreement and various emails flagged how it would all proceed as i had no clue how to complete the transaction from my end. BMS Salvage immediately sent a small deposit to my Bank Account. I then was sent an email to arrange a suitable day for the car to be picked up. The time window was 8am-5pm and so i took a day off work. I had to have the usual paperwork ready for collection. As i was retaining my personal number plate i had my retention done before the sale hoping my V5C would arrive before pick up. It didnt. The haulage company arrived and my car was inspected and photos taken and the guy that drove it up onto the lorry rang BMS Salvage for me and confirmed all was in order. I then spoke to BMS and was notified because V5C was missing they were entitled to retain £25 to have it issued to them. However when i showed my Retention receipt out of courtecy this firm waived the fee for me and updated me what i should do as V5C missing. It must be lost in post as i still havent recieved same but first class letter to DVLA should resolve this missing logbook. This firm helped me from start to finish to depose of my car and i cannot recommend them enough.

I found the experience, less than it should have been, the company, went back on its word,I was selling a 2004 plate is 300 straight six with roughly 60000 miles on the clock, which is nothing, they said the bodywork wasn’t up to standard, Ermm! What did they expect from a 22 year old car?? The engine alone was a asset!
Altogether a dissapointment!

I am elderly and didn't know how to dispose of an old car (17 years old) with a failed clutch. A neighbour put me in touch with BMS Salvage. Their team were very helpful and clear. They quickly provided a price and arranged for it to be collected from my home by Copart. I first spoke to BMS Salvage on Monday and car collection and payment was made on Wednesday. I was very grateful.

Avoid! Spoke to the BMS customer care department and I was asked if the car drives, I replied that the battery was flat but it was starting and driving previously. Their agent told me if the car wouldn’t start with the jump pack and be driven on to the collection vehicle I would be paid £250, however if the car started and drove on to the trailer I would receive £370. I was paid £25 deposit initially and 3 weeks after I received £225.
I called them up to ask why have they paid me the lower amount when the car drove on to the trailer. I was told because the car didnt start with its own battery, I would receive the lower amount, which was completely different to my initial conversation. I was then told to wait while he checked with someone, and subsequently I was cut off. I called back a further 3 times and they put the phone down on me! An absolute SCAM!

Excellent from start to collection. Fully kept up to date plus driver message saying how long he was away and was very friendly and the cash was in my bank in couple hrs . Would definitely recommend to anyone 😀

Car collected 2days after the arranged day, the Copart driver called me the night before and he managed to collect the car early morning after giving him a full description of the location, well done as not straightforward. The payment went through very quickly.
