OMG....had the Festive Roast today, this meal could not be improved on. Well done Cheff keep up the good work.
We brought some bug bites fish food for 15 fish because we went away on holiday
We was told by the brokefields staff
They was the best to buy and last up to seven days
All my fish was dead to my disappointment and shock
I've spent alot of money on fish from here and they just keep dying. some of the fish for sale are to small I'd say and they are selling them. each time I go for fish its costing me at least £40 so to see them dying in my tank is not good. I've now lost 10 fish within 2 weeks.
Have planters card which offers 10% off on a Tuesday checked on the Internet still says Tuesday no signs in the store saying you had changed it to Wednesday went today Tuesday rude assistant insisting there was nothing they could do no one else in authority to speak to very disappointed
Very helpful staff
Got the plants I wanted enough to fill hanging baskets plants hangers ect
Beautiful colours
Very reasonably priced
Went to the coffee shop today and purchased the worst coffee I.ve had. returned it and was given one just as bad.you could see the bottom of the mug through it.
Went for a birthday cream tea on Sunday. Table was booked and we saw a reserved table so sat there and waited… and waited. We had booked for 1. Eventually I went to the counter where there was a long long queue to let them know we were there. I also purchased food for non cream tea people in my party, one was a ham cob and cake. I kid you not, the girl carried the cling film wrap ham roll to the table and placed it on the table without a plate!!
We ordered coffee and the cream tea was bought for us. It was a lovely choice of sandwiches, cakes etc. but the service was non existent, no one came to check we were happy with the tea or needed more drinks after the one coffee. I was spending around £80 with everything bought, so I would have expected better customer service. It seemed no one was allocated to serve us, very disorganized, and we were very disappointed. A Shame because the tea was lovely, but I had assumed we would have been served better.
The reason for my 1 star rating is because of the fact that in the new coffee lounge, there are no prices displayed on the cakes. When I asked why, the lady behind the till told me that it’s because that’s how they run the business and they do not want customers to know the prices of the cakes until they are paying so it doesn’t put them off. When I mentioned how unfair this is for those who are on a budget, she shrugged her shoulders and said it’s not her decision. Which I understand, however it needs to be taken into account.
There were some people in there, not asking the prices and just buying what they liked but I find this to be very excluding for those who do need to watch their pennies. Those who like myself work very hard but due to the cost of living, the price of a cake does need to be considered before being at the til and purchasing and I’d rather do this at my own leisure whilst queuing, instead of facing the humiliation of having to ask until I can find one which is within my budget.
I don’t think it’s fair to exclude customers who have been supporting the garden centre for decades and spending what they can, by not showing the prices and making what should be a happy experience a humiliating one.
Prices should always be shown, so the customer can make their own decisions in their own time.
I visited the garden centre yesterday and looked at the pet section I was abit upset to see rabbits in such small spaces specially the larger ones, I hope they go out for a run and are not stuck in all day
I recently histed my sisters 60th birthday afternion tea in the restaurant at Brookfields and was really pleased with the quality of the food and there was plenty of it they provided for several dietry needs and request nothing was too much trouble from booking through to service on the day.I would happily recommend this facility if you have a garden centre lover amongst your fsmily and friends its definatly a winner
We went to this garden centre for soft play and coffee and food, allowing the mums and dads 5 mins while kids played. Went in today to find a Big coffee shop and no play area, which was very disappointing as the main reason we went. Ended up leaving with out buying anything and had lunch somewhere else. Other parents there were doing the same. Apparently there are talks of maybe doing a play area outside next year which isn't helpful on a rainy day.
Singularly the most unfriendly place I’ve ever visited. Food is not cheap, and menu was far from available.
My 10 year old daughter was told off for supporting her three year old brother in the play area.
Finally… we were looking for a new driveway. Whilst my father and I were discussing finishes and materials, a rude old man decided that he didn’t want us to be customers. We left very disappointed and will not return.
We do not normally purchase plants via garden centres as we have a collection of rare, exotic and unusual plants acquired from specialist nurseries and on-line retailers, but yesterday (26th May 2020) my disabled wife and I (both wearing P.P.E.) waited patiently in the queue outside Brookfields Garden Centre (Covid-19 situation) as we needed to purchase some tomato and pepper plants for my wifes parents. Firstly, excellent service going into the store (provided with a trolley when entering and a pleasant smile from the staff member). We located our purchases in the store and made our way to the checkout. This is where the customer service from the elderly female checkout operative took an unprofessional and undesirable approach. We were beckoned forward and spoken to in a humiliating manner (like naughty school children), and raising her voice with contempt informed us to push the trolley around the back of the till area and 'stand over the line'. She processed the transaction, but the manner and tone / attitude was so unprofessional and demeaning to us that we have vowed never to set foot in the establishment ever again. Having both worked in a retail environment many years ago, I can surmise that the manner in which we were spoken to by this staff member would have resulted in a verbal warning. How times have changed!
It looks as though we will be returning to shop on-line and at Burncoose nurseries again now.
As a footnote, don't be fooled by the overall high standard of cosmetic display of the merchandise on offer as the plants can be expensive, and like so many commercial garden centres if you require any rare or unusual plants (Colletia paradoxa, Mutisia spinosa, Wollemi Pines etc.) look elsewhere. At least when purchasing from some of our established on-line specialist garden plant retailers you are not humiliated and demeaned in public!
My wife and I have come to the same conclusion that during the Covid-19 situation, many customer facing retail employees are treating customers in a manner that would be deemed inappropriate should we not be in this current situation.
If you looking for 'run of the mill' bedding plants and being humiliated during your checkout process then this place may well be for you, not for us I'm afraid.
