Shocking company...total rip off merchants..avoid

We did trip to Santorini from Crete

1) breakfast didn’t incl drinks as we were promised

2) breakfast was awful as well

3) our guide ( Yelena...short with cropped red hair) was horrible ( as I will explain)

4) we were put on a mixed German/ English bus..and told by guide we all could not talk..trip of silence !

5) lunchtime...we were all pushed by the guide to eat in this one restaurant in Faria ( seemed like she had a deal with them..who knows)..they were rude in the restaurant there are loads of other nice ones ( we went to Pelican up the road was lovely)

6) Also there was trouble in our group..we had all been promised trip to beach as part of option...with a trip to volcano ( optional and chargeable)...guide denied all knowledge of offering beach so it wasn’t available

Guide ended up giving free volcano trip to the 8 in our group ( approx 30) who kicked off most re not going to beach

They told us they were getting it free..I confronted Yelena ..she got nasty and I quote shouted at me ‘DO YOU WANT TO GO IN THIS TRIP OR NOT’!

She then turned to the Russians ( the 8) and hissed ‘ I thought I told you not to tell anyone !..truly shocking

7) volcano boat trip naff..save your money

8) ferry back awful food for tea..cold sausage in a bun..again no drinks!

...found out on the boat looking at reviews this company ( including this guide) of unhappy customers...on numerous occasions..
Including the ‘ promised beach trip’... so she lied saying she didn’t know

Please, please save your money and don’t book a trip with Candia Mar. Advertised as ‘luxury’ super ferry Golden Star with breakfast and evening dining included. Actually preheated ‘microwave’ meals stacked on trays. A shambles on arrival at Athininos Port in Santorini where hundreds of people jostled to get on buses. Our bus was old, with minimal air-con and had broken seats. We were promised an English speaking guide, we got two Russian guides, one of whom spoke English well but gave a much shorter commentary than the other Russian guide. We lost our guide altogether on the return from a beach which was advertised as Kamari beach with crystal clear water but was actually Monolithos beach, dirty and polluted. Then in the shambles of organisation on the return to Fira a Polish guide got on the bus and told us she would only be speaking in Polish as it was her bus! Santorini is beautiful and worth a visit but not with this operator. To ad insult to injury the ‘microwave meal’ on the trip back didn’t even include a drink, on asking the staff just shrugged shoulders. My complaint letter to Candia Mar SA as yet has had no response, judging from the other terrible reviews I don’t think I will get one. We paid £218.00 for bad food, bad guides and a polluted beach. All the good parts of Santorini can be visited using other operators - my advice, don’t touch Candia Mar SA with a barge pole!
