🛑 WARNING TO BUYERS

🛑 WARNING TO BUYERS: Ask About the Missing St. Maarten Inventory Before You Sign!

I am an owner who executed a 125,000-point contract with Capital Vacations in Myrtle Beach, paying a $17,169 principal deposit. The primary driving factor that induced my family to buy into this network was the heavy marketing and explicit verbal representations regarding their Caribbean anchor property: the St. Maarten Sea Palace Resort.

Shortly after our rescission window closed, Capital Vacations completely removed the St. Maarten Sea Palace from their active network portfolio due to an internal corporate legal fallout with the property’s Homeowners Association over unpaid fees. When we attempted to dispute the contract based on this massive reduction in network value, Capital Vacations' "Owner Care" compliance team completely ghosted our phone calls and emails, sending over 10 consecutive inquiries straight to unreturned voicemails.

When escalated to state regulators, Capital simply hid behind fine-print boilerplate contract text stating that "program benefits are subject to change". They will happily sell you on a premium international destination in a high-pressure sales room, take your $17,000+, and then pull the asset out from under the network while legally forcing you to pay ongoing monthly maintenance fees.

Advice to anyone attending a presentation: Do not rely on a single verbal promise made by the sales team. Read the fine print carefully, and know that the core destinations they market to you today can disappear from the trust network tomorrow.

Timeshare fiasco

We have friends who were kind enough to let us use their timeshare at the Grand Crowne Resort in Branson Missouri. After checking in we were directed to the concierge to get our parking passes. The concierge than proceeded to try to get us to sign up to listen to a presentation the next day. Had to be scheduled at time of check in. After 9 hours traveling, my mind was not sharp and agreed to attend the presentation. We were also promised a $160.00 American Express card. What was supposed to be a 90 minute presentation turned into 3 and 1/2 hours including a tour to another resort. Without my knowing I ended up applying for their credit card which I did NOT want. Very sneaky tactics. Our salesman was new, after meeting with him, a "boss" tries to offer us a package. He was very arrogant and turned us off right away. While he was getting a package together, we told our salesman to go tell him we were not going to purchase anything not to waste his time. The "boss" came back and rudely said,"I don't ever want to hear that someone doesn't want to talk to me" Prior to that he degraded the salesman in front of us for what he thought was not giving us clear enough information about the company. We felt so sorry for the salesman. How embarrassing! These people are pushy, not trustworthy and rude, making it sound like Capital Vacations was a good deal. When we were finished with the "boss'" we had to speak with another person for an evaluation and she tried to sell to us again. We finally were able to get our free gift and we left. Most theatres in Branson will not accept American Express due to their high fees, so basically, they used a card that could not be used everywhere. We had no intention of purchasing a package, for sure not after the "boss" was so rude. It's a scam for them to make money off you. Don't trust them and don't buy!!

Very misleading presentation

Very misleading presentation. Was told I would get a $100 gift card and a free 7 night trip if i attended a 90-120 minute presentation. (Not 1 1/2 to 2 hour presentation). The presentation was 3 hours with ever increasing pressure to buy. I was offered a huge "discount" if I bought immediately but i would pay more than twice if I waited until the next day. Huge red flag. I declined and got my gift card and vacation info. Have not figured out how to use the gift card and the free vacation had a reservation and resort fee of about $400. I'm thinking about suing them for fraud.

Hidden fees, but a really good experience with the company overall. Received my refund and a confirmation email

I booked a $300 package deal with capital vacations salesman during a Rockies baseball game. They were selling packages and it seemed to good to be true.

In a way it is overall still a very cheap vacation deal. $300 for a 4 night stay somewhere and then an additional 8 night stay somewhere tropical like Mexico for example. However… you do have to read the fine print or you will be charged extra fees. That’s not capital vacations fault, it’s up to the resorts BUT I asked the salesman 2ce if there were hidden fees and he lied and said no.

The good news is, I was able to get a full
Refund for the $300 once I called and talked to the main capital vacations line. Both people I spoke to were very kind and efficient. I got a confirmation email stating my refund and 48 hours later the refund is in my bank.

I will say if you do want to do business with them , I would honestly recommend. It just wasn’t in the cards for me and I couldn’t meet the fine print criteria to make the trip happen. Plus I’m broke and cannot afford flights so it was bad timing for me. However I may look into booking w them in the future based on the ease of the experience I did have. We’ll see. Thank you to the very efficient professional and kind employees I spoke to over the phone.

my parents got high pressured into buying

So 2 years ago my parents got high pressured into buying a time share. Dad told them, he was on oxygen, and that he was dying. Mom was 86 Dad in his twilight hours and they pressured them to buy. So now mom had to take an early buy out, after paying for 2 years and maintenance fees. They have never used it and the early buy out was still $10,615.81! Oh also interest is $5.72 A DAY IN INTEREST! Shame on Capital Vacations!

They physically assaulted me

*they blocked me on Facebook for leaving this exact review. I have reported them to the BBB and the Tennessee Attorney General. Just google it and it will take you to a form you can fill out to complain about their horrific business practices. I highly recommend you do that. Their behavior and business is criminal and the authorities need to be notified. It’s not ok**

One of the worst experiences of my life. Victor or hector whatever his name was, was assigned to us. He was rude, cruel, mean, seemed fruity and overtly feminine. Very ugly man. Inside and out. 3 feet tall. 100 lbs. wears fake gold brooches and cheap shoes. Thick accent you can barely understand.

This company is owned by blackrock via Apollo. We all know what they do. I’ve discovered this info since my first post, as I am going to see a lawyer on Monday to discuss suing these evil monsters.

Our “hotel” was disgusting. Bugs, filth, trash all over. It’s part of their scam. They tell you it was a mistake or other rooms aren’t available but it’s a lie.

Their sales pitch is criminal. You can not hold people hostage. I didn’t care how much they charged me I just wanted to leave and they physically put their hands on me to prevent that.
They lock you in a room and try to force you to purchase 90k $ worth of vacations you’ll never use. They will not let you leave. I had a full blown panic attack and they still wouldn’t let me leave. Horrific experience. I almost called 911 because they were literally holding me captive. I’m traumatized. Never ever use this cult of weirdos. I’m terrified over a vacation. I thought vacations were supposed to be fun? This was the 9th level of hell. I’d rather be dead than sit through that again.
They also suggested my husband leave me, since I didn’t want him to spend almost 100,000.00 on junk vacations. Terrible people. I mean really disgusting.

They tried to separate me from my husband, with some old lady grabbing me by my arm and attempting to drag me into some back room. I had to start screaming get away from me and she still wouldn’t leave me alone. Come with me.. come with me.. felt like human trafficking. Scared my husband and I both half to death. We feel like we are in a horror movie.

These sales people are evil. The same type of people who look the other way when kids are stolen and trafficked. ANYTHING for a dollar. Even if we hurt others.

I have bruises on my arm from that old woman grabbing on to it, like if she just yanked harder money would come pouring out of the spot my arm used to be attached to.

I recorded the entire interaction via voice notes. So I have proof of them telling me I can’t leave and telling my husband to leave me. And that weird old woman trying to kidnap me. As soon as they told me I wasn’t allowed to leave, I began recording. We are considering a lawsuit.

Time share scam

This company is trash. I went to a presentation in the presentation it was stated you can cancel at any time. I sent in two letters stating I wanted to cancel my package. I received numerous letters stating I owe money. The company ignored my request to cancel. After talking to a representative today she informed me that you have to cancel within 15 days and she never heard of someone cancelling a contract at any time. I was basically healed hostage and felt compelled to purchase. This is nothing but another time share scam!

Can not make any reservations since…

Can not make any reservations since they took over the maverick resort. Took my money and then no one knows how to give a reservation. Tried to go to the resort and they have no one that knows anything. Beware of this company. Promise you something and then let you hanging with nothing.

Unconscionable Company

I am so frustrated with Capital Vacations and feel compelled to share my experience to warn others. In 2022, this company manipulated my 90-year-old mother, who had been an owner for 50 years, into transferring her already paid-for timeshare program into a new contract with DEBT. At the time, she was already struggling with health and mobility issues, and her intention was simply to discuss reducing her current expenses and fees. Instead, the representative took advantage of her vulnerability and convinced her to take on a new financial burden.

Fast forward to today, my mother is 93 years old, living in a nursing home, unable to travel, and without any income. Yet, Capital Vacations continues to send her bills and demand $9,000 for a program she cannot and will never use. She worries about this constantly, and the stress it has caused her is heartbreaking. Despite our attempts to work with the company and explain her situation, they have shown zero empathy or willingness to resolve this issue. Their relentless pursuit of payment from a 93-year-old woman in a nursing home is not only unethical but, in my opinion, borders on elder abuse—if not outright abuse, and this transaction should never have happened.

This company’s behavior is unconscionable. If you or a loved one are considering Capital Vacations, I urge you to think twice and avoid them at all costs. No one should have to endure the stress and manipulation my mother has experienced.

Capital NO Vacations!

This was my first experience with Capital Vacations and I honestly regret taking their call. The company reached out to me March 2025 offering me (1) a 3-night 4-day vacation a one of their 200 resorts from across America including Hawaii and the Caribbean for only $77, AND a 7-night 8-day FREE vacation after I completed the 90-minute session. I agreed because they were offering the second trip for free! Before the call was ended I had to pay a total of $107, which included the taxes.
On that call I was told that I must call 30-days before I plan to travel to schedule the mini-vacation. When I did call I was then informed that they do have (black-out days) which I had not been told before. But I was able to schedule it around the time I wanted to go although I didn't care for the photos of the ONLY resort they said they had left. My travel was set for 07/08/2025 - 07/11/2025 at their Country Club Villa, which you can search their website for.
My meeting was scheduled for 07/09/2025 at 2:00pm. Now, I honestly can not remember if it was Capial Vacations or the resort who told me that it took ONLY a 20-minutes drive to get to their office. It took 40-minutes from their resort! When I arrived it was approximately 2:30pm and the ladies behind the desk informed me that 2:15pm was their absolute cut off time, although I told her that I was given inaccurate information; she also refused to get a Manager to let me speak to. She rescheduled me for the next day 07/10/2025 at 10:00am, and I was certain to be their on time.
When I arrived the next morning one of the ladies said that my appointment was scheduled for 1:00pm and not 10:00am. Needless to say that I was a bit upset because I felt that I was spending the 3-days at their office! The other woman realized that it had been put in wrong, handed me the form to complete and asked me to bring it back once it was completed.
The FIRST thing that threw me qas my ex-husbands name on the document next to mine! It had no reason to be there as we have been divorced!
I was so taken back that I did not know what to mark off at the top. I put a check mark next to Single and wrote Divorced in parentheses.
Immediately after handing the document back to her a *Saleman came from the back to greet me. We went to get coffee and then suddenly a woman with long reddish hair came out and said, "You dont have to do the presentation. You're free to go!" I was flabbergasted! Nothing was making any sense! The *Salesman named "Will" said, "This is great! You dont have to pay anything or listen to the presentation! You can go and enjoy the rest of your vacation!"
Again, I was confused! I walked back to speak with the woman with the long reddish-color hair for an explanation. *Will followed me. He says, "Listen, theres nothing more that she can do. Youre good!"
I responded, "What about my seven day eight nigh free vacation that I was promised?!"
*Will says,"They have you on camera so they know that you were here!"
At this point, I didnt feel respected. I said, "*Will, I am a respected business woman. What you just said sounds crazy! Who would know I was here? Im going to call the number that I have for Capital Vacations to find out whats going on!"

*Will escorted me back to the front, but not before he said, "When you call theyre just a third-party company. Theyll have nothing to do with this."
Im like WHAT??? I calmed myself as much as I could and called the number I have saved for Capital Vacations (980-225-5857).
Before it was done and a complete waste of my time, money, and energy it took from my birthday that I was trying to celebrate!
I sat there for about 45-minute being transferred to 2-different people in personnel before I just gave up. This is what happened:
When I received the 1st call back in the Spring I didn't know who they were. My ex and I keep 1 credit card jointly for our two young adults. I gave them that card number, but I NEVER said we share housing! They called me several times, one time to ask me for another $50 for a deposit and to let me know that I would have to pay the resort $99 when I got there and that they wiuld hold another $100 or more for incidentals. I honestly would have canceled it but I had already paid them the $107 that Spring, and I was also looking forward to the 7-night 8-day FREE vacation of which I was planning to use at one of my favorite islands-St. Thomas!
I'm sitting there trying to understand what was going on because the last conversation I had to them was to tell them my roommate could not attend because a situation with her family. The woman said, "That is fine because you make enough with your income to attend by yourself." Then she added that she would make a note. In the end they canceled me, said I was a liar bc I mentioned my ex-husband! They ASSUMED WRONG! Today they attempted to charge my bank $603, but as I said, Im a very good business woman! DONT USE THEM!!!
