Display Fridge
I bought a display fridge in January and have experienced issues with the fridge freezing my products. The company are not interested even though I am within my consumer rights to request a replacement or they must pay for an engineer to check it but they are still refusing. The fridge cost me £2500 but it’s obviously not ‘fit for purpose’ if it keeps dropping below 2 degrees. I am going to seek further legal advice but I wouldn’t recommend buying anything with this company. They are quick enough to take your money but not help resolve any issues!

I appreciate your frustration however at point of purchase you selected a parts only warranty and not to pay extra for a full warranty otherwise we would have sent an engineer to resolve this. Looking into the history the manufacturer has offered to send an engineer out and this was emailed to you, if you are still having issues please contact us so we can resolve this.

DISAPPOINTED TO SEE NEGATIVE REWIEWS FOR THIS COMPANY ..... I SUPPOSE EACH CAN ONLY STATE THEIR EXPERIENCE. A YEAR AGO I HAD A FLYSCREEN FIXED INSIDE MY FRONT DOOR TO ALLOW THE DOOR TO BE OPENED THOUGHOUT SUMMER, AND IT HAS BEEN GODSEND.
CANNOT FAULT THE COMPANY, EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM BEGINNING TO END, WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

AVOID! MIS-SELLING & WORST SERVICE
APPAULING CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO FOLLOW-UP AND BLATANT MIS-SELLING OF PRODUCTS. Purchased a product that does not perform or produce as outlined in the online descriptions. The item was defective, but was told to 'use sticky tape to hold it together'. Will not give contact number, will not contact me to discuss. This is against trading standards and well-below the basic levels of customer service expected - certainly with higher-value purchases.

Unbelievable warranty
The rice cooker from them stopped working in 9 month. I've asked them a repair with warranty but they asked me to pay £250+VAT for a repair deposit. The deposit will be paid back if it was a manufacturers defect but anything else it won't be paid back. I don't know why it stopped working so this is like gamble and I've never heard such warranty. My rice cooker was cheaper than the deposit and I also can't trust them if they say it wasn't manufactual defect.
They are cheap but better be avoided especially if you are buying equipment for your business.

Makoto please accept our sincere apologies our advisor shouldn't have requested this. It is not our company policy to request for a warranty deposit for back to base items. We have emailed you arrange collection free of charge and for it to be inspected under Buffalo's warranty terms. To clarify if your item required an engineer to attend site, on this instance we do require a fully refundable deposit because we get charged from the manufacturers if they can't gain access or the issue is down to misuse or user error.
As this subject has been raised so it is a perfect opportunity to share terms where costs can be incurred so other potential customers are aware of them. We don't hide them and all our competitors have very similar terms.
CHS Ltd aims to offer the lowest prices with quick professional telephone support, we’re constantly checking competitor’s prices, so you don’t have to thereby ensuring you get commercial quality products for the best prices! Like our competitors we are a business-to-business website and consumer rights do not apply as you are trading under business terms. We hold stock of a number of items but also ship from manufacturers and importers whom themselves and their delivery companies will pass any costs caused by our customer’s error back to us. To provide you the best possible price, we cannot absorb any additional charges passed on to us; to remain the cheapest if the error is due to our customers, we have no alternative but to pass these costs back. Understandably some people are unaware of business trading and can get frustrated even though we are very transparent with our terms. To avoid these issues arising on purchasing we send emails highlighting the points where additional charges can be incurred. We offer good customer service but work within the boundaries below, please be aware of the following areas where additional costs can be incurred.
1) Aborted deliveries for large items like fridges and ovens; please ensure you’re there for the delivery and a large lorry can get to your premises.
2) Engineers called to your site and the issue is not covered under warranty (e.g. like a faulty fuse). The manufacturer will send us the invoice for work outside the warranty, we will request a fully refundable deposit prior to authorising the engineer. This is refunded in full when the manufacturer confirms the repairs were undertaken under warranty.
3) Most companies require damage in-transit to be reported within 24 hours. To help support your situation please take plenty of photographs of the damaged box with the delivery driver, if possible. Sign the note as damaged if you accept it.
4) With re-stocking we do not cover the return postage and will not pay for your re-stocking fees if imposed by the manufacturers or importer.
5) If you have a back to base warranty you’ll need to cover the postage and we will act as the messenger between yourselves and the manufacturer. They may not cover misuse like scale in a water boiler when a filter should have been used.
6) Some manufacturers may not accept back any item that has been used or is not in the original packaging.
The points above can understandably be contentious for people unaware of standard business terms and we’re pleased to make customers aware of these situations to minimise them occurring in future. We are a fair company who’ll not change our terms for customers who are abusive, repetitive or threaten to post public reviews. If you want the best prices in the industry and great customer service whilst working within these boundaries we are a great company to trade with. When shopping elsewhere within our industry please be aware all our competitors have very similar terms.

The driver initially made an attempt to deliver but you weren't present. however on ordering we do make it very clear that our couriers charge us for aborted deliveries and where the fault is with the customer we pass these costs on. I rang catering hygiene specialists on 14/02 to confirm verbally that if I ordered a display fridge that day it would be with me within 3-5 days -as they state on their website. They checked and said delivery would be thurs or Friday for my area south west so I ordered . On the 16/02 received an email from CHS telling me delivery would be on 17/02 between 8am and 6 pm . Having waited until 4-20 pm on 17/02 with no sign of delivery ,I rang customer services to be told No my delivery is not due until 22nd ( this is a Tuesday - bearing in mind they only deliver to south west on a Thursday and Friday ( also the fact that they state delivery is 3-5 working days on their website !,,,- blatant lies ). So this company lies on the phone and lies on the website about when a delivery will arrive . I would NOT have placed the order with them had I known this and this is why I specifically rang them before placing the order to check . Do yourself a favour and use anyone else . How companies can get honesty so wrong is beyond me - won’t be using them ever again.
