Read my review later but first make an observation for yourself:
Apparently, they have done 8 loft conversions in the past 1 week, all with amazing 5-star reviews!
Interestingly this is a bit of a trend every time they get a critical review.

This may mean they are a huge company completing around 10 - 15 lofts each month....or they may be inviting 5-star reviews so that you overlook their dodgy practice.

I lost my deposit with them because they sent someone who posed as an architect, who then made plans with several big mistakes. The plans were obviously rejected and it turned out the person sent to do the drawings was not a qualified architect. The company felt they were not in the wrong and responded extremely rudely once the truth was exposed.

Steer clear in my opinion!!

They did a great job on my loft. Unfortunately one of the roof tiles came loose about 6 months later. I was worried that it would be a wait to get someone over but a quick call to Renatas and they sent someone to fix it within the week - so great customer service!

If like every other real customer reviewing here you had a bad experience with Central Lofts please report them (it's anonymous) to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice Bureau as there is a growing case there now investigating the director and manager of this company for fraud from at least 6 other customers who have been subject to their illegal working practices.

They will be in prison soon, thankfully.

If you're looking at the good reviews, notice the language, you'll see they're all fake. Please be very careful.

Central lofts were fantastic.
From day one the guys were so professional, friendly and hardworking. They worked incredibly hard and within in no time at all our loft was built. We couldn’t believe how quick it all went up and without too much disruption. Highly recommend this company.

I had a good experience with Central Lofts who completed my loft conversion. The high standard of professionalism of the company and all their tradesman throughout have left me and my family very pleased with the end result. Especially during the current times of Covid they have been very respectful and accommodating. All the guys on site worked extremely hard and finished our loft in 7 weeks which was amazing.

We would definitely recommend anyone to use their services.

Got a good deal on price and quite good company. Even there was overall shortages of the materials they manage to get the deliveries on time. Overall had a good experience. Good professional company and they knw what they r doing

I am very pleased with the outcome of our build. We had a L shape rear dormer loft conversion.



They helped me through the tricky party wall agreements with our neighbour and completed all the design and calculations quickly for us allowing us to get our home project moving as quickly as possible.



The quality of work and finish was to a very high standard and all of the workers were friendly and professional. The contracts manager kept us informed throughout our project through the app they use answering any questions we had to assist us. We now have another two bedrooms and bathroom which we are very happy with and designed the bathroom ourselves which they tiled and fitted. They’ve provided us with all our completion certificates and 10 year warranty.



I highly recommend Central Lofts and I will definitely use again in the future.

Totally irresponsible and once they got your money then you have to chaise them.
After installation which can be a proper headache you cannot get hold of any of these people as they keep ditching your messages.
After some digging, I found out this is the 3rd company which has been set up under new name with the same owners, their previous company called Central London Lofts.

Thier phone numbers in their website is managed by another company which is not related to this one, even the operator admitted they don't know any of the managers or the workers, they just record a message and pass it on. So good luck finding this people.

( UK Government website for UK registered companiues) and search for Company number 07799649.

Definitly stay away and find a decent company.

"Central Lofts and Extensions" company is the new company which has been registered after they declared "Central London Loft LTD" bankrupt, its basically same owner, worker,etc.

They are doing anything they can to remove any negative reviews. Just look at the string of "POSITIVE" reviews after any negative review.
Make sure to Report them to trading standard.

Fantastic job, I am very happy with my new loft that Central Lofts completed for my family. The guys on site and all who have been involved in our home project have been great. Anyone looking to convert their home I’d advise getting a quote from them, you won’t be disappointed.

I hired Central Lofts to do a loft conversion. I have had an awful experience with them for the following reasons:
Firstly they failed to keep to any of their initial time scales starting from when the "architect" would come, when he would make the plans and when they would be submitted. Delays every step of the way!
Secondly they made a complete shambles of the planning drawings for the loft conversion which started off with them lying about the qualifications of the “architect”. In actual fact he was the director’s son who has no qualifications for such tasks. This led to him missing an entire section of my current roof in the drawings submitted to the council which obviously led to the plans being rejected.
Thirdly, they have taken almost £5000 of my money for the above and are refusing to return this to me. In fact it’s been a struggle to communicate with the company since they have taken money from me.
Finally, despite what it says on the website and contract there is no deposit protection and you risk losing time and money. Please be wise and choose someone who is qualified for the job, not just a company with a fancy website and questionable 5 star reviews.

We had a full loft conversion with a dormer in the rear. This started June 2020. This was just as the COVID19 pandemic was in full swing.

In terms of quality of the build we are, so far, very impressed. we don't believe quality was skimped on and we were very impressed that the Project Manager who worked for London Lofts would see issues which we had noticed but not specifically mentioned and got them rectified even though in some instances this was clearly going to cost Loftplan. The quality of the various tradespersons (scaffolders, carpenters, plumber, electricians, plasterers......etc.) ranged from highly competent to exceptional. They were all very friendly, courteous and professional. It's hard to single any out as they were all so nice and good at what they do but those who did the bulk of the construction deserve special praise as does the PM "the builder". Also the Plumber and the Carpenter also deserve a particular shout out as does 2nd stage PM.

Any hiccups (there will always be some with such projects) were dealt with quickly and effectively.

Our payments were staggered so we paid after a particular milestone had been reached so we were never in fear that we were going to lose our money. The fact that London Lofts was doing it all meant we did not have to worry that an overrun of one bit of work would involve us having to reschedule other bits of work and potentially rack up extra costs e.g. If we had undertaken this using separate contractors and there was an overrun the scaffolders would have fairly said they need more money for the extra rental time of the scaffold. We have very high standards when it comes to customer care which rarely get met. However on this occasion they were met and what should be by all rights quite a stressful project ended up not being that stressful. We have absolutely no qualms in recommending London Lofts and wish them all the best.

Originally we were going to manage the loft conversion on our own, however after facing many obstacles- our home is quite old. We experienced a head full of negativity whilst trying to figure out how to approach this. We found peace finally when we came across Central Lofts & Extensions who were highly recommended. Right from the beginning, it was clear that they were a professional company. The receptionist were extremely helpful and once the construction began we were further impressed. Once the contract manager and his team arrived, the loft room began to take shape, they worked efficiently, quickly, tidy and answered all of our questions. They were full of enthusiasm whilst carrying out the work. Our whole experience was stress-free and from the beginning to the end we were extremely satisfied with their service, we would highly recommend this company to everyone.

We hired Central Lofts to convert the loft of our semi-detached house. They lied about the level of service they would provide, and did a terrible job of constructing the new room.

First, they told us they had a "team of architects", when they have never employed an architect. The original design they showed us turns out to have been put together by the owner's son, which would have collapsed the first floor of our house if they had gone through with it as it was drawn. What was actually built was what the builders decided to do to fix this catastrophic flaw. They didn't consult us about whether it was what we wanted, and no-one with any suitable qualifications checked whether it was structurally sound before it was built.

They also promised "on site project management", and went to great lengths on their website to describe how customer focussed they are. None of this was true. Our project manager came on site exactly once during the build. The level of communication at all points during the build was terrible, with no-one telling us what was going on, and (for a long period of time) with no-one on site who spoke English.

The quality of the build was also very poor. The roof felt was punctured in a large number of places, and there was inadequate ventilation built into the new roof (which is essential to prevent mould). They were gluing tiles in place, and were using hanging brackets to support roof beams. The structural beams were fastened onto supports with bolts that were clearly inadequate, and the roof beams themselves were constructed from multiple planks of wood, not joined together in a sufficiently sturdy manner to support the roof they put on top.

Finally, the safety standards employed during the construction were woefully insufficient. The scaffolding was built to hold one tonne, and can be seen to be visibly bent by the weight of materials they stacked on top of it (much more than one tonne). The old tiles were dropped from the top of the scaffold into a skip beside the street, with very little concern for anyone below. While they were being removed there were also large chunks of material falling to the ground at random, with one large pointed piece of tile falling from the roof to within a couple of metres of our back door, and which would have caused a terrible injury if it had landed on anyone.

In short, I am surprised they are allowed to trade with the level of misleading information that they provide on their website. They constructed an unplanned, and badly made dormer on our house, without properly consulting with us about what they were doing, and without due regard for our safety, or the safety of anyone walking past. It's going to cost a lot of money to fix the mess they've made, and quite frankly I wish I had never heard of them.

Extremely pleased with the project, very sleek operation due to excellent project management. Competitively priced, enthusiastic clean and tidy builders, excellent from start to finish. Paperwork and billing well managed and the project was complete within the original estimate.

Fantastic service from the guys, loft completed in weeks. Will defiantly use again.

The Central Lofts & Extensions team did a phenomenal job with my build always keeping me in the loop with all decisions. The finish of the work is five star quality.
Simply were very well organised with frequent check ins to ensure everything was going to plan. Overall, very very pleased with the service provided and would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get building work done.

It is very hard to find a company you can trust a specialy for a big construction work project. I'm glad my fried recommended these guys. They are professionals, so everything went fluently from start to finish. Really happy with the final result. To bad there is no way to attache photos, so I could show the final result.
