Excellent choice of seeds. Superb quality.
I recently purchased seeds for a gift and they arrived wrapped in beautiful tissue gift wrapped with ribbon together with a gorgeous
card. This was very kind, thoughtful and very much appreciated.

A very disappointing experience. Bought a pack of veg and herbs. They advertise with photos of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, aubergines.
I didn't get any of them. Instead I got all sort of leaf vegetables.
When I called customer service they said that the seeds are randomly selected. None of them were in the photo. I was told that the leaf vegetables are very popular and they will not be able to exchange them. Very deceiving .Not helpful customer service.
Would not order from them again.

Simply the best seed company out there. I've been growing from Chiltern Seeds for a while now and the germination rates are consistently outstanding, close to 100% across everything I've sown. The range of varieties is incredible too, full of unusual and hard-to-find things you just won't get elsewhere.

What really sets them apart though is the customer service. When a shipment of mine went missing, they sorted it within a single day and sent out a replacement, no fuss at all. Every interaction I've had with them has been like that: quick, friendly and genuinely helpful.

I wouldn't use another seed company. Five stars without hesitation.

Chiltern seeds appear to sell two types of seeds; no or low germination and the seeds that do germinate are not as described.
An example would be red and green oak leaf shaped lettuce. Which were all green. Delphinium had zero germination despite following instructions of giving a period of cold in fridge. Chinese cabbage that don't heart. Gold, orange flecked dahlia that are ... yellow.
I have told the company and they offered a replacement but I just want to work first time.
Good marketing, terrible product.

Fantastic quality seeds with great customer service.

Bought a huge selection of seeds from Chiltern for the first time this year. Excellent selection of seeds. Well packaged, paper packets and cardboard box (which actually goes through the letter box!). decent number of seeds. All germinated well!! So far tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergines, melons and peppers all excellent. Have my first truss of gardeners delight tomatoes all ready. Several varieties of Salvias, cosmos and penstemon, again good germination rates. Will be using again!

Last year I was very happy with my order of seeds this year most of these seeds I’ve ordered have less seeds in the packet — my runner beans especially only 28 seeds.!! I’m having to order some more else elsewhere

Absolutely fantastic, sat and chose seeds with my catalogue, ordered on line. Phoned to check delivery and found staff to be amazingly helpful in getting my seeds to me when I need them. Grew plants from their seeds last year and they had a very good germination rate and turned into healthy plants. Would highly recommend

bought apero tomato seeds with only 6 seeds in the pack the price was not cheap and should have been at the minimum 10 really disappointed took photo with seeds still in pack unopened

I’ve ordered seeds from Chiltern Seeds a couple of times now and have always had a good experience. Orders arrive on time with the correct items, the number of seeds tends to be accurate in line with the description, and the selection is really good. They’ve definitely become one of my go-to places for seeds

I'm gonna go ahead and give chilternseeds a 1 star.
I bought a couple of sago palm seeds, but when leaving them to soak for a couple of days, they floated. This means they were either infertile, or immature seeds which aren't worth wasting your time with.
I left a polite review, actually giving 2 stars, as the delivery the seeds were well packaged etc. But as I now see, the website doesn't publish not so great reviews l.
What's the point of reviews if the customers can't make informed decisions on future purchases?
So here it's a one star. I bought the seeds due to a positive review. Not worth wasting your time over.

Great seed company. Quality packaging and service. Very clean well labelled seed. Very prompt international delivery.

I want to start by saying don't be dissuaded by negative reviews - I'm pretty sure they mostly refer to a company using a similar name with a poor reputation. I feel sad for Chiltern Seeds as they deserve an average five star rating!

I bought lots of seeds from Chiltern this year as a new gardener.

I found the website to be excellent. There is a huge variety of unusual and beautiful seeds - the sort of thing you can't get in garden centres, even more specialist ones. This includes uncommon varieties of popular plants like Cosmos - if you're looking for something a bit different that will have everyone asking "WHERE did you get that?!" then this is the place to go!

There are also really useful features on the site including "seeds to sow now", well curated seasonal edits and the ability to filter by a whole range of parameters which was very helpful in finding things that would work for my space and the time available.

I ended up ordering three times from them this season - multiple cosmos, zinnia and phlox varieties, scabiosa, snapdragons, eustoma, Ammi Majus & visagna, papaver, Nigella. Seeds arrived promptly and were beautifully packaged with clear instructions.

I've had success with almost everything aside from the eustoma which is notoriously tricky & did actually sprout but was damaged when my cat decided to take a nap on the seed tray which is hardly Chilterns fault! The phlox took a while and I thought I'd have to give up on it but suddenly, almost every seed germinated and started rapidly growing. The overall germination rate was so high I ended up with a LOT of spare seedlings which made nice gifts for friends and family.

Everything is starting to bloom now and I was delighted to be able to make my first ever mini bouquet last week from plants in my garden. I'm particularly excited about the cosmos - I haven't seen the varieties I bought in any other garden or garden centre and they're breathtakingly beautiful.

Next year, I'm definitely going to stock up on sweetpeas - again, they stock some truly gorgeous varieties - and will be ordering foxglove seeds to overwinter too!

Though I've had no problems I note that Chiltern respond kindly and helpfully to those who have, offering replacements and advice.

I recommend Chiltern to everyone without hesitation. Excellent customer service, the best range I've seen anywhere in the UK and top quality products. I'm already excitedly planning my cutting garden for next year!

Chiltern Seeds are my go-to people for seeds. An excellent range of products, a lot wider than a lot of other companies. The website is good at drawing my attention to plants that I have never heard of or wouldn't normally consider buying and gives expert growing and plant care advice. Good quality seeds, speedy delivery and excellent customer service.

Really impressed with how they handled my complaint. I’d bought Giant Fennel seeds and only 1 germinated - they asked about growing conditions, sent me a replacement pack of seeds and gave me detailed advice on how to germinate them successfully.
