CRC Press Avis 5

i bought three books of CRC Press . Machine learning and its Application by Peter is an excellent book. Keep bringing such books on technology. However, we have a request to bring cost of the book down so that it is more affordable.

Terrible company! Never again!
I bought the book of Petuch on Ecphoras and paid a total of $171.20 (on sale at the time). I end up receiving the book almost three (3) weeks later!!! After opening the package- poorly protected expensive book - I noticed right away all the pages were not flat pages - they had waves into the paper all over! Every page of the book! I contacted customer service who arranged for a free return shipment label. Again I was told the company would charge me again for the second book until the first one arrived! I finally received the second book about 3 weeks later and guess what…the second book was worse than the first book with wavy pages all over !!! The company took their dandy time a week later after I complained again and they informed me that all their books are like that and it is expected to have the pages in a wavy shape! Now I am stuck with a very expensive crappy book and this company has my money they do not deserve because they robbed me! They suggested to return the book and get reimbursed!! Why do people buy books? Because they need them!!! Yes?!?!? I informed the author of my experience and had no comment at the end of my story!
AVOID THIS COMPANY! They put their books on sale to rid of their defects!

My experience with this company was absolutely terrible. I purchased the book November 25th and paid an extra $10 for 3-5 day shipping. On December 1st, I reached out to the company both by email and phone expressing that I did not receive a shipping confirmation and would like to cancel the order. Because the book took too long, I had to purchase the ebook to complete my classwork. After going back and forth with this company, I was told I could not cancel the item because it was already shipped. I asked to cancel the order on December 1st, and the company SHIPPED the order against my wishes on December 6th. Which I can prove with the Fedex tracking log. When the book arrived on December 8th (13 days later), I was told I cannot return the item. They are stating that I can not return the unopened item that is in the original box because of policy reasons. Now I have two copies (the ebook and print) when I only need one.

ANY PROFESSOR/ COLLEGE INTERESTED IN USING THIS PUBLISHER SHOULD AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!

ANY STUDENT WHO NEEDS THIS BOOK, AVOID IF POSSIBLE. IF YOU CAN'T, ORDER THE ITEM FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Ordered a book through BookDepository.com from this publisher - book called "Journey from Natural Numbers to Complex Numbers" - This book has arrived (as have others) - this is brilliant book - although for its size it is expensive- but it is brilliantly written - my compliments to the authors Nita Shah and Vishnuprasad Thakkar - it is so hard to find a well thought out maths book - other maths authors should take note. My congratulations to the Publishers for publishing these authors. Andy Frost

I ordered an e-book (order #634521) and was expecting to receive a PDF I could use freely like at springer.com. However, in order to view my book online, I was forced to create an additional account at bookshelf.vitalsource.com (apart from the CRC account!). You can only read the book offline, if you install the "bookshelf app". I was not able to extract a PDF out of the "bookshelf app". A horrible restrictive process! I requested my money back from CRC and in the meantime will re-buy the book via mayersche.com, because I need it quickly as PDF. I am really disappointed about CRC Press.
