My experience at the New York MUN was truly incredible. The training sessions in the months leading up to the event were extremely valuable, providing essential insights enhanced my ability to engage in the simulation. A huge thank you to Roberta and Angelo for their dedication and support, which made a real difference in my preparation.

The organization of the event was amazing since it ensured an immersive experience. I was particularly impressed by the opening and closing ceremonies, which set the tone for a high-level debate. The presence of distinguished guests at the opening ceremony was inspiring, as they shared their perspectives on the importance of international cooperation.

This experience not only allowed me to delve into the world of diplomacy but also gave me the chance to explore New York, making it even more unforgettable. A special thanks to ELSA for introducing me to this incredible opportunity—without it, I would not have had the chance to participate and grow both academically and personally.

Sono Michele Girardi, un ragazzo di appena 17 anni che frequenta il 4º anno al Liceo Scienze Umane di Acquaviva delle Fonti (BA) e che faceva parte del Gruppo Puglia durante il CWMUN a New York 2025. È Iniziato tutto in una giornata di Novembre del 2024 quando ho scoperto una circolare della scuola che annunciava la possibilità di partecipare al CWMUN 2025 a New York. Non avevo mai sentito parlare di Associazione Diplomatici prima ad ora ed ero molto incuriosito da questo viaggio. Così partecipai al primo incontro, quello di presentazione, dove ho conosciuto il mitico e simpaticissimo Stefano Pezzolla, il nostro coordinatore regionale che ringrazio molto perché mi ha fatto venire la voglia di provare quest’esperienza e che soprattutto ha davvero fatto un ottimo lavoro! Non oso immaginare quanto sia stata dura coordinare 500 persone provenienti da tutta la Puglia divisi in gruppi. Ci ha spiegato cosa avremmo fatto in quella settimana e quando ho saputo che sarei stato un delegato di uno stato non italiano, che avrei avuto a che fare con gente da tutto il mondo, che avrei parlato in inglese davanti a centinaia di persone e che soprattutto, sarei andato senza conoscere nessuno, ho pensato di tirarmi indietro e di non partecipare. Non so per quale strano motivo abbia deciso di andarci lo stesso, perché conoscendomi, sopratutto per come ero in quel periodo, non avrei mai fatto una cosa del genere. Alla fine questa si è rivelata l’esperienza più bella DELLA MIA VITA dove sono nate delle bellissime e forti amicizie che sarebbero nate solo grazie a questa esperienza e dove sono potuto essere me stesso al 110%, dove per la prima volta dei miei amici hanno visto chi sono veramente. Hanno visto il mio lato divertente, serio, filosofico e infine quello che non ho mai mostrato, quello fragile. Non mi sarei mai aspettato un’esperienza del genere, pensavo di restare chiuso in me stesso come è quasi sempre accaduto in passato, ed invece ho legato moltissimo con un piccolo gruppo di ragazzi di Monopoli con cui nonostante la distanza, siamo rimasti in contatto e usciremo insieme anche dopo questa esperienza. Grazie a questa esperienza, grazie ad Associazione Diplomatici, a Stefano Pezzolla e ai nostri accompagnatori Annalisa Fanelli e Niccolò Gugliotta che sono stati i migliori accompagnatori che potessimo desiderare ho scoperto che il mondo e la vita sono bellissimi, che al di fuori della scuola c’è un mondo ancora tutto da scoprire e che è ancora possibile conoscere altra gente piena di voglia di vivere e di RIDERE! Perché in quei 7 giorni abbiamo riso tutti quanti come mai prima ad ora fino ad avere le lacrime agli occhi! È stato bellissimo stare in mezzo a così tanta gente! Vi risparmio i pianti che mi sono fatto tra le braccia dei miei amici durante il ritorno. È stato così bello che quando al ritorno ero arrivato al punto di incontro con i genitori, la prima fermata del pullman, allo stadio di Bari, mi sono abbracciato con tutti e non ci volevamo staccare, salivo e scendevo dal pullman perché non volevamo salutarci dato che i miei amici sarebbero scesi alla fermata successiva. Non avevamo mai provato delle emozioni così forti tutte quante insieme prima ad ora. È un’esperienza che rifarei assolutamente volentieri, magari anche come accompagnatore perché non c’è cosa più bella che vedere altra gente felice… GRAZIE DI ❤️ A TUTTI!

Ciao sono Francesco di Cagno Abbrescia, frequento il Liceo Classico Socrate di Bari. Quest’anno non appena ho saputo di avere la possibilità di partecipare al progetto con l’Associazione Diplomatici in quel di New York, non ci ho pensato due volte, e devo dire che ho fatto la scelta giusta.
È stata un’esperienza unica e formativa. Ho avuto l’opportunità di confrontarmi con ragazzi da tutto il mondo, migliorare le mie capacità di public speaking in inglese e approfondire tematiche di rilevanza globale in un contesto stimolante e internazionale.
Durante le conferenze ogni nazione ha avuto la possibilità di esprimere la propria idea su temi di attualità di cui tutti dovrebbero essere a conoscenza: immigrazione, economia, sviluppo e ricerca, diritti umani.
Mi ha sempre affascinato la politica, sopratutto estera, e l’esperienza coi Diplomatici è l’ideale per tutti gli studenti che vogliono mettersi in gioco e avvicinarsi al mondo della diplomazia e delle relazioni internazionali.
Essere parte del Gruppo Puglia e rappresentare la mia scuola in un ambiente così prestigioso mi ha permesso di crescere sia a livello accademico che personale. Il programma è stato ben organizzato e i tutor sono stati sempre disponibili a supportarci in ogni fase del percorso, dalla mattina alla sera.

It was a wonderful, fun and engaging experience. You make lots of friends and you create a wonderful relationship with the companions, which lasts even after the end of the trip. La mia esperienza a New York é stata emozionante mi ha consentito di crescere molto, di farmi aprire al mondo e farmi superare paure che credevo insuperabili.Ammetto che fosse il mio primo viaggio e avevo paura lontana da casa e nonostante tutto grazie in primis hai miei genitori che mi hanno consentito di fare questo magnifico viaggio io vorrei ringraziare chi c'è dietro l'organizzazione e i tutor che rappresentano la nostra guida anche in una città che non si conosce. Ho avuto l’onore di partecipare al progetto Change the World MUN New York 2025 che è stato molto più di una semplice conferenza: un viaggio formativo, un’opportunità di crescita e un’occasione unica per entrare nel cuore della diplomazia internazionale. Oltre all’aspetto accademico, il CWMUN è anche un’occasione per stringere amicizie con persone di culture e background diversi, creando legami che possono durare per tutta la vita. Le serate a New York, le discussioni fuori dalle sessioni, gli eventi sociali e la scoperta della città rendono l’esperienza ancora più memorabile. Partecipare al CWMUN New York 2025 non è solo un’esperienza straordinaria nel presente, ma è anche un investimento per il futuro.
New York è una città che incanta ad ogni passo, e i luoghi che abbiamo visitato ne sono la prova.
Dalla maestosità della New York Public Library alla tranquillità di Bryant Park, fino al fascino storico della Grand Central Station, ogni angolo racconta una storia unica. La vista dell’Empire State Building ci ha lasciati senza fiato, mentre passeggiare lungo la 5th Avenue e tra i negozi di Macy’s ci ha fatto vivere l’essenza dello shopping newyorkese. Il 9/11 Memorial è stato un momento di profonda riflessione, così come la visita alla Statua della Libertà, simbolo di speranza e libertà. Wall Street, con il suo celebre Toro, ci ha immersi nel cuore finanziario del mondo, mentre la serata al Pier 17 e la vista sul Brooklyn Bridge hanno chiuso in bellezza un’esperienza indimenticabile.
Un ringraziamento speciale va al nostro tutor, Giuseppe Nuzzolese, che ha reso questa esperienza ancora più straordinaria. Ci ha guidati in questo viaggio non solo come accompagnatore, ma come un vero punto di riferimento. Grazie a lui, ogni momento è stato vissuto al massimo. Senza il suo supporto, questo viaggio non sarebbe stato lo stesso.

I’ve just concluded an incredible experience at CWMUN in New York, where I had the opportunity to represent Japan in the General Assembly Sixth Committee focusing on debating Peacekeeping Mandates to Address Evolving Threats.

During the simulation, we tackled complex global challenges, discussing and negotiating solutions for international security in the context of increasingly evolving threats.

Thanks to all the organizers and all the delegates I had the privilege of collaborating with.
A special thanks to Angelo Coroneo, our dais chair, for making our sessions even more engaging and to the support of Giada Ferraro and Alice Corbino.

Esperienza unica con persone che porterò per sempre dentro al mio cuore. Per me è davvero difficile anzi impossibile trovare un difetto di questa settimana passata a New York; i nostri tutor Ginevra Pino e Francesco Monea sono stati semplicemente fantastici e divertentissimi, tutti i miei compagni e delegates sono sempre stati simpaticissimi ed inclusivi facendomi divertire tantissimo ogni singolo giorno e le simulazioni sono state davvero interessanti e organizzate benissimo, con i membri del DAIS che hanno saputo sempre mantenere un ambiente sereno e molto attivo. E' stato per me un grandissimo piacere rappresentare la Tunisia nella WHO insieme al mio co delegate, con il quale abbiamo pure vinto il premio per il miglior Position Paper. Consiglierei a chiunque questa esperienza che per me è stata fantastica e indimenticabile.

Aver potuto partecipare al CWMUN25 è stato un’esperienza unica e indimenticabile. Le simulazioni sono state molto interessanti ed è stato bello poter condividere i momenti con le persone all’interno del gruppo in cui sono capitata di cui era tutor Giuseppe Nuzzolese. Un’esperienza unica che terrò nei miei ricordi.

La mia esperienza a New York è stata semplicemente incredibile. In soli sette giorni ho vissuto emozioni intense, scoperto luoghi iconici e imparato tantissimo, grazie anche all’incredibile supporto dei nostri tutor, Francesca Merlino e Andrea Nicastro.

Fin dal primo giorno, Francesca e Andrea si sono dimostrati estremamente competenti e disponibili, guidandoci con professionalità e passione attraverso la città che non dorme mai. Grazie a loro, ogni attività è stata organizzata alla perfezione, permettendoci di immergerci completamente nell’atmosfera newyorkese.

Dai grattacieli di Manhattan alle passeggiate nel cuore di Central Park, ogni momento è stato speciale. Non sono mancate visite culturali nei musei più importanti, come il MET, così come esperienze uniche, come la vista mozzafiato dall’One Word Osservatory . Francesca e Andrea hanno reso tutto ancora più interessante, arricchendo ogni tappa con informazioni preziose e aneddoti coinvolgenti.

Oltre all’aspetto turistico, questa esperienza è stata anche un’occasione di crescita personale. Grazie alla loro guida, ho potuto affrontare la città con sicurezza, migliorare le mie competenze linguistiche e aprirmi a nuove prospettive.

Sono riuscito a partecipare al CWMUN 2025 a New York City, esperienza unica non solo per l’organizzazione della visita della città che si è scelta ma sopratt per il ruolo che si svolge durante queste conferenze di delegato, in cui si può fare amicizia con altri delegati, capire meglio la situazione del paese assegnato nel mondo e soprattutto iniziare a ragionare da “grandi”. I tutor sono gentilissimi io personalmente ero affidato ad Andrea Smirni e Francesco Mirabelli, due persone che, adesso che è finita questa esperienza, devo ringraziare per le tante risate che abbiamo fatto insieme, per le mie domande stupide a Mirabelli e per la pazienza e sicurezza con cui ci facevano girare in questa grandiosa città. Due persone che porterò sempre nel cuore e che si sono rilevate davvero importanti a cui mi sono affezionato nella risoluzione perfetta di questo progetto!

The idea of giving teenagers and students the opportunity to have a schooling like this is really amazing. Still, there are a lot of things that showed us that it wasn’t about learning and changing the world, it was just about getting money.
You get a 1000€ scholarship for basically nothing. Every student got that scholarship, thinking it is something special when in reality it’s just a marketing strategy.
The experience all in all is very expensive. We payed about 2000 dollars and for what? For a hotel room which is designed for two people, but there are four people staying in it. That means you have to share a bed with a stranger and you don’t have the opportunity to decide with whom you want to stay. Also, there was no breakfast included or anything in that factor. Plus, you had to pay the flight yourself and the visa, which can cost almost 200 dollars.
A lot of people had to pay money, just to get their visa denied. If you didn’t pay the 300 dollar money-back fee, you didn’t get the money back in case you cannot come.

But most important thing is that, if you’re not Italian, you will be treated completely different by the staff and in general. The Italian students got extra packages and privileges in every way. (Like higher scholarships and enjoy package)
You get reached about integrity and respect but if you’re not Italian, you won’t get included. The ceremonies only have Italian people holding a speach, sometimes even in Italian. Spoiler alart; not anyone can speak Italian and the translator was really really bad.
Half of the students there are from Italy, all the staff members and just everything is somehow related to it.
We know and understand that Assozione Diplomatici IS an Italian Organisation but it is really messed up that you are getting treated differently because you’re from any other country. Don’t talk about inclusion , if you don’t include us.

Another thing…
The ball in the end. Every student had a ball on their schedule as an ending for the conferences. A really good idea, but you still had to pay 20$ for it.
Just to… don’t get in a all. If you put the ball on everybody’s schedule, you should ensure that everybody can get in. We went there just to find out that there were no tickets left for us.
We had a right to go to that ball but we couldn’t because our teachers made some mistakes and didn’t bought the tickets for us in the first place. Not fair. Not fair to anyone.
And instead of getting a sincere apology, we got a temperamental discussion. There was no compassion about them messing up, but searching the mistake in us. But you know what? You’re not supposed to be talking like that to CHILDREN.
I am glad that there was another woman, formally and empathically apologizing because otherwise we would’ve been really, really mad.

I’ve met amazing people there, the conferences were pretty good too, but they have some really serious issues with organizing. First, they’re promoting equality, diplomacy, diversity etc., while if you’re not italian, you cannot acces many things that they can. Also, you don’t get any event where you can meet everybody, so if you don’t like your roomies you’re screwed. Also, most of the staff is really mean. They have this event called the bal at the last day, yeah well they have LIMITED spaces for that, and they don’t mention it anywhere. Some tutors buy it for their students (mostly for the italians), but I can name 3 groups whose tutors didn’t (out of 8 maybe). We got there, wanted to buy tickets, and they told us that they were sold out and the place is packed. (Most of the students were just standing outside lol). We complained about the lack of information they gave us, and the CHIEF of dias was upset with us, that it’s our fault, and was disrespectful about it. For the money you pay (i say it as an international student, don’t know how much italians pay), we don’t get breakfast, our room is not even worth that price. Also, the merit grand is a scam, everybody gets it:)) wouldn’t recommend, you basically don’t know what you’re paying for. Please don’t promote diversity when you’re discriminating people, diplomacy when even your chief of dias can’t admit that she’s wrong, and don’t flex with how many students you have when you don’t have enough space for them!

Worst organization! There are taxes you don't know about until few days before going. Taxes that they say are bigger but in reality they should be lower but it's not mentioned. You don't know where you'll be staying in NY because they tell you a hotel name but in the end is not that. You don't know who you're staying with because they say you'll stay the same gender in the room, but is not always the case so you can end up with someone you're not comfortable with and it's even worse because they told you to email the people who chose to stay in the same room and when you get there you find out the email was useless because it doesn't matter.
Liars

There’s too many problems with this conference, so I’ll make a numbered list
1. At the actual conference, they put us in a cinema. No notebooks, no pens, nothing. How are we supposed to give notes to the Dias when we are not given anything to give notes with?
2. The Dais and the directors are on completely different pages. They can’t coordinate and cause a lot of confusion. Even during the opening ceremony, they ran through the allotted time and almost got us late for the actual conference
3. During the actual conference, our chair was biased towards Israel. During the voting, we counted the votes and it was at least close / a win for our resolution (which including a permanent ceasefire in Gaza). We asked for a motion to divide the house, but they just looked around in confusion (even though this is a pretty commonly known United Nations procedure that is adopted by most Model United Nations). Additionally, after one delegate started talking about Gaza, the lady stopped looking at her and would not select her for more questions. Usually, they picked native Italians and barely gave the mic to varying nations.
4. The chair takes this conference far too seriously and tries to guide it in ways they want. They tell us “someone should propose a motion for X” and then reject people who propose other motions. What is the point of a conference if you’re going to dictate how it runs? Purely illogical.
5. Most of the awards seem like they were randomly given. One delegate who won an award did not speak at all and was a minor part of lobbying and merging; I don’t care about not winning an award, but there were more deserving my people who deserved to win such awards.
6. The conference structure is flawed; there is no debate since the chair refuses most point of replies since it will “cause a debate”. This would be understandable in real life, but it’s a model United Nations. It’s about being able to debate and stand up for your nations foreign policy. So why is this conference discouraging such debate?

Overall, this conference is poorly run and the only good part about it is the city it is in. Politically biased chairs as well as horrible communication makes this conference below par.

Aggiornamento 11/04/25: oltre a non rispondermi più alle mail, non rispondono più neanche alle chiamate. Mi avevano detto di prendere appuntamento con l'ufficio amministrativo, non si sono più fatti sentire.

Aggiornamento 26/02/25: nonostante la pianificazione della Direzione, non mi è ancora arrivato.

Da ottobre aspetto il rimborso IVA, ho anche chiamato per un sollecito a dicembre, ultima mail di novembre non risposta... Non molto professionale

I had an amazing experience at the CWMUN conference and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in Model United Nations events. Here’s what I liked and a couple of areas where I think it could be improved:

What I liked:
- Accommodation in Paris: The accommodation provided was fantastic. It was well-located and comfortable, making it easy to stay focused and enjoy the experience.
- Organization: The entire event was very well organized. Everything from the registration to the sessions ran smoothly, which allowed all participants to focus on the event itself without worrying about logistics.
- Pre-event Information: The website provided plenty of helpful information before the event started. It was easy to access important details and prepare thoroughly for the conference.

What I did not like:
- Time for Delegations: I believe delegations should have had more time to write their working papers. This would have allowed for more in-depth preparation and a better final result.
- Staying in Character: It could be emphasized more strongly how important it is to stay in character throughout the event. This is a key part of MUN, and better guidance on this would ensure a more authentic and productive conference for everyone involved.

Overall, my experience at CWMUN was incredibly rewarding, and I truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of every member of the CWMUN team.

I loved this experience! One of the best experiences! I went to Change The World MUN in Brussels and everything was so professional. From workshops, visiting official institutions to chairboard, organizing staff… would always do this again! All the amazing people I’ve met just made my life richer!

This edition in collaboration with Circle U was incredible! From distinguished speakers from diplomats, to professors, to specialists, to meeting the Vice President of the European Parliament at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies to fruitful discussions in every committee session and of course last but not least the unique opportunity to visit the European Parliament and talk with MEP Nardella which I have really enjoyed.
It was an amazing experience and therefore I would like to thank Change the World Model United Nations for giving me this opportunity!
