Don’t waste your money

Don’t waste your money! If I’d of known how useless this union was I would have found a solicitor of my own before my tribunal!
I’ve constantly chased the branch, area, regional and the chair!
I’ve now been told that head office legal apparently lost all the emails from the beginning of March!
I’m having to pull out of my tribunal because of the time frame left!!

Lincolnshire DO.............No wonder…

Lincolnshire DO.............No wonder the ex area CWU Rep never returned calls/texts or emails to the then in-house rep, when members were in their hour of need. Managers as mates that is how. Now the said ex CWU area rep is a manage himself at the very branch he once laughingly "supported". Can you honestly believe that? I can, it all makes perfect sense now. So, now we have the in-house rep, sub rep and ex area rep now cuddly managers bed mates. Still unwilling to help members even more now. How do you all sleep at night taking members monies, whilst looking them all in the face and offering double standards by return? Pathetic.

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money, absolutely useless, infact I can not find words to express how useless they are. They know every manipulative way to put the emphasis back on the person who brought the complaint to them in the first place. I've tried to speak to the senior deputy General secretary who should be made aware of what is going on and why i left the union. You have more chance on speaking to the King of England. I even asked for an oppointment for him to call me. No go, I did speak to five other people though who were incapable of dealing with it and incapable of arranging an oppintment. The man must be some sort of god. Anyhow don't waste your time and money. Just ring Acas who are more professional, polite and give better advice for FREE. Just make sure you get the right adviser. This union will back the employer more than back the employee. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The worst union ever

The worst union ever, This union will not stand up for you, they are basically a company union that will always put employer before members. I needed their help twice in the past and each time they told me they can do nothing, when clearly they could do something. Then when it comes to national disputes they will always and I mean always negotiate worse terms and conditions for their members. The leadershp are totally overpaid with a whopping 150 grand + going to the head of the union. A large percentage of the money members pay goes straight into the leaderships pocket. Do not join them they are a waste of money. The help and advise they do give is equivalent to citizens advice who are independent and know a lot more about your rights at work and employment laws.

I have always been proud to be a member…

I have always been proud to be a member of the CWU until the end of last year. Now I'm pretty disgusted to be honest. As a postal worker I always thought that my union had my back but their actions in recent months have been shameful. They have been extremely week and seem to be more concerned about their own reputation than that of the people they are supposed to be defending. I would not recommend the CWU to anyone and will personally be removing my membership as soon as possible! Complete waste of money!!

Please keep these in mind

The union's General Secretary is Dave Ward, who enjoyed a pay deal of £143,000 in the year ending December 2019

As this guy said:-
'1. Royal Mail is making a loss so needs to lay off staff
2. CWU is pushing Royal Mail to put pay up even though they don’t have the money
3. CWU pushes strike action
4. Customers don’t get their purchases delivered
5. Companies stop using Royal Mail because their customers are getting bad service
6. Royal Mail has to lay off even more people meaning more people lose their jobs'

And as this guy said:-
'The worst union ever, I wasted my money for 4 years and when I needed help, they wouldn’t answer the emails or calls. I now lost my job and they are not even helping with the tribunal process. Don’t waste your money!'

They just prey on people vulnerable enough to get their monies and are totally fine with it collapsing small businesses in the process and causing nationwide delays, even for things such-as medication (from my own experience).

They won't protect you if it comes down to it, they are just greedy.

My poor old dog.

Thank you for striking I'm now sat freezing cold with no electric post has been and no voucher for my pre payment. My poor old dog is shivering and if he suffers as a result of your strikes then I hope God can forgive you as I won't.

Your Strikes Are Not Welcome - Not Even By The Postal Workers!

Total time-warp, based in the 70s, ruining people's lives, with their own petty demands! Royal Mail is working despite your thug-like actions, where the general public are losing out! I have two parcels that have just gone astray, with the, so called, guarantees for delivery in 48 hours, and tracking, not honoured! These will both end up as claims, and since these ae sales, I have to negotiate the poor buyers, and all I can and will do is blame the CWU! We have posties working throughout your dim-wit strikes, and they are happy to work, because they are not part of your Red Ken union! Time you all got off your bring Britain to its knees high horse, and realised you are despised by the people who pay the wages to those you call out on strike! Selfish, arrogant, left wing misery makers!

No good and not helpful to the workers…

No good and not helpful to the workers of royal mail.
They are a wast of time don't help royal mail workers just thinking of their selfs, why don't they pay the worker of royal mail that don't want to strike from there wages. Royal mail and all the workers would be better of leaving the CWU and employing decent people who don't only think of there selfs.

CWU will take your job away. Avoid.

To anyone thinking about joining or staying in this union think about this:

6. Royal Mail has to lay off even more people meaning more people lose their jobs

So CWU, keep up the great work of reducing the number of jobs available for your members, and of making the lives of ordinary people who need deliveries harder.

Unions should be ashamed of themselves. Stay well away.

They seem to just want to damage small…

They seem to just want to damage small businesses with their Royal mail strikes in my opinion. We have moved our services to alternate couriers and won't be returning. How will pay rises be funded while this union works to remove all their custom is something I think about.

Only good for national photo…

Only good for national photo opportunities. At local level, meridian branch a good example, they are constantly unavailable, I think between three union personel, they barely cover 2 days week . Even their out of office email replies take a day to respond, and that's automatic!

When you did get their 'support', you felt they were on the employers side, and not to make waves.

From personal experience, save your hard earned cash, and invest into decent legal cover, usually included in better house insurance policies, giving you family legal cover including employment disputes. I wish I'd followed my own advice, but like so many members, you hope they will be on your side when you need them! DONT BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND.

They fell incompentently short when I needed them.
Their legal support is NON EXISTENT. You never pass their assessments for it. They do not want to pay for it.
