Rip Off

I sent in an external hard drive in March when it suddenly stopped working. File Retrieval's initial quote was ridiculous, over $1700 without even seeing the drive. After me saying no and them decreasing the price several times, I got them down to $350. In hindsight, I should have NEVER paid for something before receiving it. They took 3 months to "diagnose" that the files on my drive were unrecoverable. I requested a refund for services I never received, and they stated they are only refunding half the amount. It has been over 4 months since I initially sent my drive in, I received no services, got no files back, and have yet to receive a refund. I've had an extremely disappointing experience with File Retrieval and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Responding to your reply: there are several things wrong with your response. First, I am not Laurie Dart and I have no idea who that is. Second, I was under the impression that I would get a full refund if my data was not recovered. Third, you did not give me a full refund, you kept $175. Fourth, I chose the cheapest, slowest, most economical option for data recovery, not your fastest option. It is clear you don't know what case you are talking about or even the person you are talking to. Just another example of your poor customer service.

Finally got my hard drive back

I got all my data back, but my hard drive never got returned to me. I asked to have my original drive sent back to me, and I was told it was, but I never got it.
UPDATE
I finally got my drive back. I was also offered a partial refund. I give them 4 stars.

Slow services

I requested expedited service, and paid up front. I have finally got all my data back, but it took twice as long as it was supposed to. I am not pleased with the speed of service I got for the amount I paid.

I have changed this from a 1 star to a 4 star. A manager reached out to me and offered me a refund. If it hadn’t been necessary to leave a bad review to begin with, I’d give them 5 stars.

Fast and Easy

I sent them my computer free overnight shipping. They called and let me know they got the computer, and then they called me to let me know what was wrong. Every time something changed, my sales guy called me. They had my computer back to me in a week.

Kind and gentle staff

i don't know much about how computers work, and i had already talked to one recovery place that wanted me to remove my hard drive from my computer. i had no clue what they were talking about. Fileretrieval was very kind, and told me i could just send the whole computer and they would take care of everything. i was very grateful for how patient they were with me.

Excellent customer service

I worked with Chris at Fileretrieval and he was very helpful. He went above and beyond, even updating me on the weekend. I would recommend these guys to anyone that needs files recovered.

A company that responds to feedback

This is an updated review. My original experience was one of deep frustration with their service and the original review reflected that.

However, Fileretrieval customer assurance contacted me regarding my review.They were very apologetic about my experience, listened to my comments, agreed that it fell short of their expectations and provided an agreeable solution.

Given my earlier experiences with the company I was pleasantly surprised by their response to the review and their willingness to try to come to a satisfactory resolution. It is always nice to deal with a company that actually responds to feedback, especially negative feedback, and makes the effort to use that feedback to improve their customer experience.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE

As with any endeavor, there will be glitches that need to be worked out. Our company encountered a glitch and when I reached out to David at File Retrieval, he not only listened to our problem, he came up with a viable solution. As a business owner, I greatly appreciated David's prompt, courteous attention to my problem. He recognized that we had a serious issue, and went out of his way to rectify the problem. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who has had a problem and needs help retreiving their file system.
