My experience with car max was great

My experience with car max was great. But the best part was, I had been approved. Their customer service was wonderful and very courteous. Finally got my application to go…

Finally got my application to go through from being locked from moving,then was told to come in and bring a cosigner because my disability check wasn't enough and that my credit was good but needed more income so I took my son in law as a cosigner and after going in about 5 times we were told that my son in laws application as a cosigner was locked because we shared the same prior address .funny how my application was locked for the same reason and I had to wait 45 days to get an approval and now I was told that my son in law had to wait 45 days for his approval to be unlocked and then we can proceed in buying a car,my credit is at a 635 and it's funny how a person with a credit score of 400 can go in and buy a car with no problems.fk drivetime for wasting my time and I went to a real car lot and got approved right away.do yourselves a big favor and go somewhere else,your going to pay triple what the car is worth and if it breaks ,good luck with trying to get it fixed and no longer car and you still going to pay on it regardless if they fix it or not.

Stuck with a broken down Vehicle

I finance a car through Drive Time....if I could give it a zero I definitely would. When financing vehicle at the time another customer came in and stated to us to not to finance vehicle. He had vehicle problems on his vehicle he had purchased. Should of listen to the man. We figure we try and stay positive. But 3 weeks later traveling in it...it broke down
on us. Now we're stranded in a city we don't even know. So to other PLEASE do not purchasea vehicle from Drivetime!!

I purchased a vehicle May 1st the car…

I purchased a vehicle May 1st the car smelt like gas and initially I blew it off by May 10th I contacted the dealership to let them know who referred me to the warranty. May 21st the vehicle gets a fuel pump replaced under warranty May 23rd the vehicle breaks down as I'm on way out of town. Based off the mechanics diagnosis they replace the fuel pump but the catalytic converter needed to be replaced so the warranty department said I needed to have it sent to honda because there was coverage under the OEM which after calling the OEM there was no coverage and I was advised to still take the vehicle to have the OEM check it out. Between May 10th and May 28th I had contacted the warranty department several times as well as by that time drivetimes compliance department. After the OEM diagnosis the vehicle they determine the certified mechanic the warranty department sent me to replaced the fuel pump with an after market part which is why the vehicle broke down. But because I wasn't able to get the vehicle to the OEM before the 30 days and although all of drivetimes entities were aware that the vehicle at that point is not operable. They are refusing to pay the OEM for going back and replacing and repair what the other mechanic messed up in addition nothing was wrong with the catalytic converter but yet the warranty department expected me to have the vehicle towed back to the same company that left me and my family stranded on the side of the road that replaced a part said there was another issue when it turns out the only issue was the part that the mechanic replaced. Drivetime compliance doesn't want to take accountability and just pay for the repair instead they want to play against me that it's out of the 30 day warranty. Thing is I had the extended warranty I cancelled the extended warranty because of the back and forth and the hassle with just utilizing the 30 day. Drivetime is supposed to offer this 32 point inspection and had they have done that I wouldn't have had to have the vehicle sent to 3 different mechanics for a fuel pump and rather than acknowledge that my first contact to them regarding the issue was May 10th to both the warranty department and dealership then again May 24th to the dealership In which Dominic made it seem like I was going to be able at that time to get the car back to Meineke there has been so much back and forth with the warranty department and Drivetimes compliance department. The icing on the cake is when I took the vehicle to Firestone and they chose not to file the claim under warranty and instead charged me the issue was addressed with drivetimes compliance department I was told to submit the receipt and they would consider reimbursing me. Yesterday 6/13 I received a check in the mail from the finance company of the same amount of the diagnostic the same diagnosis all 3 mechanics so you would in good will reimburse me for a diagnosis. As a customer this has been the worse experience of my life not to mention I still don't have my vehicle but I still made my car payment for the month. When the vehicle broke down and being stranded for over 5 hours it basically destroyed the battery cells so on top of all of that I am having to pay $1456 to the OEM because the warranty department is saying it's a new claim and I have no coverage. Mind you it will take about 3 pay check for me to save in order to get the vehicle out and as good will and with the chaos I've been through you'd think that's what drivetimes offering no they are offering to cover 169 of the bill for a diagnostic.

Better customer service

The sales man was not as friendly, we had to be the one to check out the vehicle which was okay but if your a salesman you'd want to make the experience worth going back for. Would've been nice if we were offered a gas fill up, window washed and head lights checked. Since we live 150 miles west we had to travel back and do what we could with the headlights not correctly working. The service of purchasing a vehicle was great but again customer service was not what I expected.
