Egypt Escapes Avis 

The Hotel in Cairo the Pyramid Edge is not in the best area of Cairo ok you can see the Pyramids but our guide told us not safe to go out on our own . No fire exit signs as far as I could see . Giza is not a good area. You can see the pyramids but you still have to go the long way round to go in the tourist entrance. Only the Egyptians can go in the Giza entrance. The guide Zak was excellent.
Also when we got to Amman hotels and trips good but for some reason they put us on an internal flight from Amman to Aqaba when it was only a 3.5 journey by car. So we wasted a day messing around at an airport also for return home ! So we wasted 2 days of our holiday . We had to fly the 30 min flight back to Amman then fly home the next day ! There is a connecting flight from Aquba to Amman to Lhr . It really took the shine of our Amman trip
So future customers beware . Apart from that Nile cruise and other hotels good . The Nile is now very commercialised so stay away if you don’t like crowds .Due to congestion at the lock our boat was 6 hrs delayed. If our guide had not been switched on and got us a mini bus to Luxor we would have not seen the Temple or light show . I would go off season to avoid the crush.

Everything worked with drivers and guides being reliable and on time - and in some cases adding a little extra. Very full agenda with early starts (to avoid worst of crowds) and some less physically able people struggled to keep up with steps and rocks. Became oblivious to street hawkers and hassle while out and about by the end of the week. Shorts and tee shirts in January a delight, but chilly after dark with only a few bitey things about. Wine and beer on boat typically UK/EU prices.

Trying to organise a trip to Cairo and a Nile Cruise is a mine field. Lots of information is available on the internet which often conflicts. It is also challenging reviewing tour agents websites and the prices differ massively.

I have used Egypt escapes many times they are extremely good value for money and a very good service. I am literally four weeks away from going on a tour to Egypt again two weeks one week down the Nile and one week in a hotel and Susan was exceptional she understands my needs and is always quick to reply….. I booked this trip in May 2025 and yesterday I needed some information sent Susan an email and she didn’t just reply immediately. She phoned me instantly.! if you’re looking to book a trip, I can commend them and we’ll definitely be using again in the future!

He was happy to re-quote several times in order to tailor the holiday to our requirements. When we finally decided upon the details of our holiday, he arranged for the deposit to be paid as per our request. Susan Wilson of Egypt Escapes, is without a doubt the best travel agent we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She is knowledgeable, polite, friendly and funny - not to mention her endless patience with us elderly patrons. She answers her phone most promptly and if necessary, returns calls without fail. I have recently booked a Nile cruise holiday with Egypt Escapes. The process seemed easy enough and was made easier by Susan my holiday rep. If I have needed to call her over anything she has always been available and has booked a call with me prior to my holiday to complete all the checking in procedures. A very good service so far.
