Evans Halshaw - MG Grantham Avis 

Went into Grantham branch to view a Ford Ecosport Joe helped us with questions and test drive. When this vehicle sold to another party Joe and Jack helped me find another Ecosport from a different branch. I purchased the vehicle a week later and cannot fault the service. Visited Evans Halshaw in Grantham on 7th October to view a Volvo V40 with staff member Will. On arrival and viewing of the car, the condition of the bodywork did not replicate the photos on their website. The car was covered in several scratches of various depths to the paintwork, including an 8 inch scratch on the boot door. When explaining this, Will was quite dismissive of this, stating “used cars are likely to have scratches”. I’ve bought 2 previous used cars of similar ages and milage and had 1-2 minor scuffs to bodywork on one car and none on the other, so aware that this should not be normal when buying a 13K car. Will grabbed his manager and they inspected the car while I was sat in the showroom then asked me to point the scratches out to them, in which I found more scratches and a small dent to the paint on the drivers side door. They was not willing to negotiate on the price, given the extensive scratches however was willing to contribute a small fee towards me sorting the scratches out myself (likely hundreds of pounds of repair work to paint work). I decided not to go ahead with the purchase and was told that my reserve of £99 would be returned. 1 week later I rang Evans Halshaw and the refund hadn’t even been actioned yet.

Such a disappointing experience and a wasted journey. Didn’t seem to take pride in selling a quality car to a customer, however was happy to sell an excessively scratched car which did not reflect the images on their website. Maybe worth buffing the scratches out prior to accepting viewings or provide clearer images of your vehicles.

William was amazing at helping me finding the right car. He had so much patience with everything I threw at him. Would highly recommend. Brilliant service all round and very professional.

Very professional sales service however....let down by preparation of the car for purchase. The car in question a 2022 plate was not cheap well in excess of £20k. On a test drive it was noted that the interior was in need of a total valet. We traded in two cars in immaculate condition and added a substantial amount of added cash to purchase the car. On collection it was noted the seats were still dirty, stained and marked. The car was whisked away for a quick rub over! However the seats still left a lot to be desired. Clearly a full steam clean valet had not been carried out which is extremely disappointing considering the price of the car. Cleaning the seats ourselves has improved the upholstery somewhat but will undoubtedly have to pay for a full professional valet ourselves.

Had a very pleasant experience when looking for my next car. Although there was nothing on site at the time, Joseph was extremely helpful and patient!!
I had just gone into the dealership to get an idea of what was available. I didn't have any particular car in mind and was a bit hesitant as I have found car salesmen to be slightly overbearing in the past. Joseph had taken my details and advised he would contact me if anything suitable became available.
I found a car on line and went to another site to check it out but it was not suitable, however the salesman again was extremely helpful.
Eventually I found the right car (for me) and it was no trouble at all for Joseph to arrange for the car to be transferred into Grantham. He kept me fully informed throughout the whole process. There was absolutely no pressure. Joseph was really easy to speak to and has renewed my faith in car salesmen (as I would never normally go to a dealership due to salesmen being quite pushy!)

Salesperson Joe was excellent, but cars are over priced with virtually no room to negotiate since the "Head office set prices and we cant move" tactic is stuck to, or was. The car i bought seems excellent so far, first few days, but I know i have overpaid since i was in need of a quick turnaround.

Toby has been a pleasure to do a sale with. We came in with the intention of leaving with a car and with his help, we did just that. He has been polite, efficient and accommodating for any requirements we have had. We will definitely be returning to him when it comes for our second car to be renewed.

My car was collected from my home, as always, and returned when the service was complete.

The staff keep informed of any work that needs doing - the whole process is very straight forward. I am always satisfied with the way I am treated and the quality of work carried out.

Took my car in for an MOT & Service, excellent customer service would definitely recommend.
