I have used First Table 3 times (twice in Liverpool and once in London) and don’t understand the negative reviews as I think the discounts they offer are amazing. In the past 4 weeks we’ve had brillia... Voir plus

Great experience
Great experience. We visited a local restaurant that we had wanted to try for ages but the risk of spending so much on a meal for it not to be great is a bit daunting.
The booking process was easy, we didn’t have to remind the restaurant that we had booked through First Table, and the food was amazing!
I will definitely continue to use first Table to discover new restaurants.
Highly recommend
It’s been really easy to use as both a consumer and a restaurantier. It’s really helped our business fill up the quiet periods!
Loads of great options to save
Love the app, super easy to sign up and use, great options to save money and discover new places!

I absolutely love using First Table
I absolutely love using First Table. It’s such a clever idea – you pay a small booking fee and get 50% off the food bill just for booking the first table of the night. I’ve discovered so many fantastic restaurants I might not have tried otherwise, and the savings make it even better.
The app and website are really easy to use, and the booking process is straightforward.
It’s a win-win: great value for diners and a boost for restaurants who want to fill their early tables. Couldn’t recommend it more highly!
Unnecessary Costs Just To Change Booking Date
First Table are fine until you want to make a simple change to the date of your booking. You can't do it without paying a cancellation charge and then a re-booking charge. Just makes you feel you've been ripped off and there's no need for it. Was so annoyed I didn't bother to re-book so the restaurant lost the business.
Doesn't save you money, false advertising
Seemed like a great idea and a good way to save money however First Table took a £6 booking fee. The restaurant then only gave us 50% off one of the meals. On the second meal they grouped it with the starter and said it was a set menu deal so wouldn't take the 50% off (this wasn't mentioned when ordering). So when you take off the £6 booking fee, we saved £3 on an £80 bill. Not worth it at all.
First Table is such a great concept
First Table is such a great concept, it’s super easy to use and has introduced me to so many amazing restaurants I might not have tried otherwise. I love that you can get 50% off your food just by booking one of the first tables of the night. It’s a win-win for both diners and restaurants.
The app is user-friendly, the booking process is smooth, and there’s a great variety of venues to choose from. I’ve had some of my best dining experiences thanks to First Table. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves good food and a great deal!
It's a scam
It's a scam. They will force you to order full priced drinks that is almost the same price as the food. Ontop of that first table will take $10 as booking fees. We went to a restaurant Cabana at Adelaide and were not allowed to order coffee. Only allowed to order their most expensive mocktails ( filled with sugar!yikes) at a full price . Don't fall for it!
Thanks First Table!
I think First Table is a great idea for early diners and/or have smaller budgets.
I have dined at restaurants I would not normally choose and we have eaten some delicious food, had amazing service and it’s been an overall wonderful experience.
First Table are not to blame for how the restaurant handles your booking. I have learnt some restaurants should not be attached to this programme. They are awkward and difficult about the small print, refusing to accommodate even when they is absolutely not one other diner in the restaurant at the time!!!
Of all the dining experiences my family have enjoyed we have always found the system to work well.
Unfortunately just recently we had an awful experience at a Greek restaurant called Aggelos in Parsons Green in London. In the end they did us a favour because we had a fabulous meal at a restaurant up the road and missed out on approx £140. Some restaurants should definitely not be part of this programme because they clearly don’t want to discount your bill and prefer to have an empty restaurant at this time of the day.Unfortunately these type of restaurants may reflect badly on FT but it won’t put me off. Thanks First Table!
Waste of money
I gave more than 24 hours to change my booking to arrive just half an hour later. There was plenty of room at the restaurant and they still wouldn't accomodate and took my booking money. By the time you pay twice for the booking fee and have to buy the drink it is hardly worth it!
Caveat Emptor
Be careful with the restrictions imposed by particular restaurants. Often they will exclude the more desirable (and expensive) dishes and leave you with just the low end rubbish to chose from. You're saving may not be much more than the booking fee! Also be aware of the 'bait and switch' cons where the restaurant has a 'special' menu for First Table diners.
Recommend First Table
We had a delicious meal yesterday, booked via the First Table app. We have used First Table many times and enjoyed eating at the different restaurants available. I would recommend. Great for ideas of where to go too.
First time using First table yesterday…
First time using First table yesterday at The Old House at Home, Burton. Easy to book. We're absolutely happy with everything esp the tasty, sumptuous food, the welcoming service, the cosy ambience and a great saving for the three of us. Thank you Ashleigh for your friendly service and to First table for the opportunity to try a pub which we wouldn't have known about. Definitely we'll be back
Have used this website many times and…
Have used this website many times and have had no issues. Booked a restaurant this morning and they rang me back to re-book/change the time over the phone (the restaurant). Tried to get in touch with first table to try and get a full refund, as the restaurant refused to cancel the booking on their end. Can you contact me please?? Have been trying to through their website, so difficult to get in touch with their team.
Ok but check out carefully if it’s worth using
I’ve had some good value meals with this but the raising of the booking fee to £8 for so many restaurants makes it much less useful. It is often better value to go for a pre-theatre menu or other set menu which are not usually included in the offer. So best to check out these options carefully before booking (and remember drinks are not included in the 50% off).
I wouldn’t bother to recommend to a friend in the hope of saving much as you only get £3 off the next reservation and have to use it within 14 days - this seems rather stingy.
Shocking price increase!
Such a shame they've increased the charge to book through them from £5 to £8 in less than the space of a year. It's almost getting to the point where it negates using it as a platform to save money on dining.
Excellent customer support.
I booked a restaurant using this reservation method, and there were issues with the restaurant regarding the discount offered on the website. They were always available and supportive, and ultimately resolved the issue.
FirstTable asks for reviews
FirstTable asks for reviews. So...I think this is a fantastic concept, giving restaurants the opportunity to showcase to new customers.
I've been able to eat in high-end places I might not have been able to afford without the '50% off food' introduction. This does hike the bill up by £6-£8 just for booking and is not deducted from the food bill.
One of my best experiences has been with Aubaine Mayfair and I've introduced friends to this - once wonderful - place, so I've dined there four times now.
Sadly, our experience last night was pretty grim. The bill came to around £117 including a compulsory add-on tip for two diners including three glasses of (very good!) house wine. The food and service though is not what it was on previous visits.
We ordered a bread basket with smashed avocado, grapefruit pieces and pomegranate seeds, (curiously served in an oven-proof pie dish), followed by medium rare fillet steaks which come with french fries, watercress and peppercorn sauce. We shared an extra side of 'wilted' spinach and then brulee and eclairs.
I was embarrassed for my date. I thought I was taking her somewhere lovely.
The bread was noticably stale, there was no pomegranate. I politely asked the (rather defensive and hostile, if I am honest), manager when the bread had been baked and why it had been toasted and he told me "it is always toasted". Not in my prior experience. I asked why it was not listed as 'toast' as I had ordered the fresh bread basket. He just repeated "we always provide it toasted".
Not wanting to argue, I just let it go. In fairness, the manager did return with an espresso cup of pomegranate seeds which he plonked on top of the avocado on our table without wearing hygienic kitchen gloves, explaining that the "cook" is new.
My steak was so blue it was cold. I did not eat it. My companion's steak was slightly over, but she enjoyed it. Our fries were so over-salted, we could not eat them. The spinach was not wilted, it seemed to have been deep fried? There was no watercress, only pea shoots.
Dessert of creme brulee and an eclair was average.
I wish there was a facility here for me to add photographs.
