Great technical support from Gas Wise

I have a 25 year-old Johnson & Starley ducted air gas fired central heating system. In the autumn of last year the system stopped working properly. I contacted Gas Wise and they sent a young technician who diagnosed the problem. He recommended replacing the control board at a cost of €1000. I ordered the replacement, which he fitted two weeks later. I am very pleased to say that The solution has worked in a very satisfactory manner. I know this because I have fitted a Netatmo controller in place of the wall mounted Thermostat . The performance of the system is sent to my phone and displayed in graphs. I am now a very happy Gaswise Customer.

Cork county council sent gaswise out…

Cork county council sent gaswise out for a safety and service inspection today .
My heating isnt working since the pressure is low and needs to refill. This is a new boiler only fitted last November. Absolute joke of a service if it breaks the new system that was working before the check.

Prompt and Efficient

We had to get Gaswise out to fix our boiler. From 1st contact to the completion of the work done at my house, we couldn't fault them. Great customer service. And the engineer that came out was efficient, mannerly and got his job done. I couldn't recommend them more

Wish I could give zero stars

Wish I could give zero stars. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!! I urge anyone thinking of hiring Gaswise to rethink their decision.
I received a leaflet through the post on Oct 25 offering a full service for 110e. I booked them in and after the service not only did the "engineer " move my thermostat to high when it should have been put back on Eco.. like he found it, there was a leak from the pipes. I thought at first it was the kids putting wet hats etc in the area but upon further inspection it was the pipes not tightened from the service. When I contacted the office a very curt woman told me it'd be a callout charge because the warranty after a service only lasts 1 month. I explained nicely it was their fault as the pipes were perfect before the service and I was told a charge would apply. I asked to speak to a manager and was told again not politely that she was handling the call and no manager would speak to me or return my call. So my only options are to pay the callout charge or employ another gas contractor and the latter is what I'm doing. I can't stress enough that they are cowboys and charlatans. ZERO STARS. THEY DONT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS.

AVOID AVOID AVOID UNCERTIFIED CONTRACTOR

We used Gaswise for yearly boiler service . After the last service ,the contractor said we needed a new boiler worth 3000. My Mother who is 72 ,got the money together to get it in in may 25 thinking it be all sorted and no messing then when it came into winter . All fitted, then the water was trickling in shower. Couldn't have showers. Called them back out . It was then said we needed a new pump ,which cost 840 euro . It worked for a few days then stopped working . Was mix between no hot water or no heating. We were experiencing leaks then . One of the 4 contractors that came out . Had straightened out pipes and said it was the water from the radiators going into the overflow tank and leaking out into our bathroom. This is reoccurring problem since they put new system in . One fella said that the pipes weren't the right one and we would keep getting leaks if not fixed . He would let them know and someone would be out to fix it. A week later I rang and was told by a man that the parts fella wasn't there . At this time water wasnt heating again either or radiators. Rang again the day after and the lady said we weren't down for any parts . Another contractor sent out a few days later . Getting very frustrated now at this stage as new boiler and pump not working. One contractor had put the pipes on wrong . Hot water was coming out of toilet when flushed . Hot was in cold ,cold was in hot . The guy that came to fix it said that they are sending contractor that isn't RGI certified and he has to keep fixing his jobs . Madness . I've mailed them before Christmas, as 2nd contractor said we need older pipe . Which wasn't passed on again . Another told us ,a contractor could of fixed the problem but couldnt be bothered as he doesn't do that . I complained about the damaged ceiling that was caused with there bad workmanship and incompetence. Still having problems with the system . She passed on all my emails to management. Still nothing back from them and it's January 26 . I emailed again today and nothing back . Heating not working and water not heating. Disgrace taking advantage of my 72 year old mother ,will take her money but leave her with more problems and damage to the ceiling . Times when there was sickness in the house and couldn't have a shower or warm home . I had one contractor ring me on the defense asking me whats going on in my house as he was been giving out to . He put pipes on wrong , i asked so nothing to do with the part thats needed,he said no . Im going to report this now and get a real professional to check all the incompetent work thats been done .AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Finished a 10 year boiler guarantee…

Finished a 10 year boiler guarantee with them this year, and thank god it was finished because I wouldn’t trust them ever. They installed my boiler back in 2016 and I soon discovered they didn’t install an isolated valve with handle but instead with just some screw turn valve instead. this was not in with manufacture to install. So I called them to look at it and they told me this valve was my original valve from my old boiler. strange at it looked brand new. roll eye. anyway long story short they wanted me to pay for the call out and I refused the gas fella then got on the phone to his manager with name beginning with M, this manager then told the gas guy to switch off my boiler’s water connection. So I was forced to pay. complete and utter cowboys. stay clear.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, a member of the team was sent out to repair my boiler and he was aggressively rude and had no customer service, he walked around the house and has no clue of what to do. The company disguised under Eco wise Galway and when I called I was told so many people had called to complain about Ecowise Ireland under Gaswisd Ltd. I was very disappointed as I have never experience such behaviour from a professional worker coming into my house. Be careful and make sure you have someone in the house as a witness and to keep safe. Furthermore don’t bother calling the customer service on 018315566 as the guy who picks call is of no use, a very unprofessional team.

I contacted this company two months ago for a service. I paid a deposit over the phone and was told the work would be completed within two weeks. It’s now been nearly two months and nothing has been done.

They sent two different people to my place just to “assess” the job — no idea why. Then, about two weeks ago, they sent three guys to actually do the work, and they still couldn’t complete it. They just left and said the manager would call me. No one ever called.

I phoned twice, and every time I asked to speak to the manager, I was told the manager was “away.” I also emailed them and never received a reply.

The third time I called, I said I wanted a refund. They didn’t care at all — just told me to send an email and they’d refund me. No apology, no explanation, nothing.

They clearly don’t care about their customers. The customer service is awful, and they genuinely don’t seem to know what they’re doing. Terrible experience. Stay away.

Flooding from gas boiler

Very long story as short as possible. Booked Gaswise to service a working gas boiler. I was told it needed a part but it was still working..a precaution. The part was fitted and when the boiler was used 2 days later it leaked all over the kitchen, appliances and worktops. The boiler was also completely waterlogged and blew fuses. Spoke with Gaswise asking for engineer asap as my kitchen was flooding..they came out approx 11.45am but as it was a Bank Holiday Friday they couldn't check it out properly as the whole boiler was completely waterlogged. The engineer did confirm the leak was as a result of something not being tightened from the previous visit a few days before. Trying to keep this short but it was the following Wednesday (6 days including the October bank holiday) before it was finally fixed and fully tested. I had phoned Gaswise office on the 29/10) to speak with a customer service manager and I pressed as to when someone could ring me..I was told "our company doesn't revolve around you "! Bearing in mind the fault that occurred and led to watery mess was not our doing. All parts and labour used to finally fix the boiler were supplied and fitted free of charge by Gaswise. Even though the engineer who finally fixed the problem, was helpful, I will not recommend Gaswise.

Unqualified Cowboys-BEWARE

Would give 0 if choice .We let these "cowboys" into our home .The biggest regret ever .They are contractors for WCC and there was an issue with our boiler losing pressure .They advised WCC that it was a leak in the system ! WCC took them at their word with no report back up and scheduled them in to do a repipe job ,and that my friends is where the nightmare started ! 2 days after their arrival our house was destroyed .Carpets ripped ,chunks out of walls ,marked wooden floors .They had drilled holes in the wall to run pipes down from upstairs on the outside of the wall .Removed rad fittings,Damaged walls,door frames Hit/damaged wiring .Anyway day 3 we refused to let them back in the house (a small saving grace on our part as imagine if they were there longer ) .We contacted the council who made a site visit and seen the damage .When the owner/boss of gaswise made a visit a couple of days later he didnt seem that shocked and said I dont know what they were doing !! I could go on and on .WCC then ignored us as we refused to let these cowboys back in .We engaged with a proper company who advised us a repipe was not needed and it was actually an 80e part on the boiler that was needed to fix the issue .Sadly for us it is more than 80e as we have had to get walls repaired ,carpet replaced,wooden floors repaired .wiring made safe ,walls painted .The cost to us was hundreds and hundreds .Please do not let these people in your home ,full stop! if they still do council boiler services do not allow them in -just pay to get it done with qualified people .You have been warned .We have everything documented from video/photos of damage and reports from qualified people.We may still seek legal advice to recover our costs

*FRAUDSTERS*

My parents' (in their 80s) heating wasn't working last winter, called Gaswise for a gas boiler service. Gaswise said there was a gas leak on their boiler. Frightened & duped into paying deposit for full boiler replacement, cost 3000 euro.
Gaswise locked boiler, told them 10 day wait, so no heating in middle of winter at zero degree temp. This infuriated me.
Plumber friend checked boiler, no leak, the heating pump was faulty, fixed it for 200 euro within 1 day.
This company preys on older people, scares them and dupes them into full boiler replacements, would probably have charged parents more to replace the pump too.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid at all costs!

I'm a dcc tenant and had to let these…

I'm a dcc tenant and had to let these guys come in and ruin a working boiler and left me without heating ,or hot water for over a week now .the coldest week of the year ,as to why I'm awake at this hour? well it's so cold here how could you sleep. Dcc and gaswise don't care about their tenant or customers ,how could they if they are willing to forget and leave a disabled person with no heat or hot water !! Not happy

3 months wasted

I had used this company to fit a boiler in a apartment and also for servicing of boiler in my own house, they came out and brought the wrong part and said they would be back, i waited 4 weeks then rang them, i was told they had the part and were waiting for plumber to fit, another 6 weeks passed and still not heard from them, when i did get in touch with them they said they couldn't do the job even tho id been told they had the part, so id waited 3 months for nothing, now winter here and finding hard to get a plumber, i wouldn't belive a word the receptionist tells you, lie after lie

Avoid!

Absolutely disgusted by this company.
Called out to my mums to service the boiler.
The guy manually turned of the electricity to the boiler told her it was broken & that she needed a new one & added all sorts of other issues to the mix.
Was organising a surveyor to call out.
I rang a friend who is also a gas registered Plummer came out and saw what had been switched off... Absolute chancers! Im disgusted,avoid at all costs.

Bad experience with gaswise

I called out gaswise to service my boiler and to investigate the pressure gauge on the boiler. They told me that the boiler needed replacement parts (pressure sensor, internal vessel and pressure relief valve). It would cost almost 900 fix. Or to replace it with a new boiler for about 2700.

Luckily for me, I called out a second gas plumber and he fixed it by releasing some air from a radiator. No new parts needed! Job done in 10 minutes.
