Great idea but really bad execution!

Very disappointing experience.

The concept of the service is great, but in reality it has been completely unreliable for us. Our account keeps getting suspended without any clear reason, and getting it reactivated takes weeks or even months. Customer support is extremely slow and often does not respond at all.

Because of these constant suspensions, we have not been able to make a single payment this entire year. This has led to several very embarrassing situations at the checkout when the card was declined unexpectedly.

A payment service needs to be reliable, and unfortunately this one is not. Until the stability and support improve significantly, I cannot recommend it.

UNAUTHORIZED UNKNOWN TRANSACTIONS AFTER USING CINO. STAY AWAY!

Where do I begin? STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP! I found multiple UNAUTHORIZED UNKNOWN TRANSACTIONS (some where blocked and some passed through and had to dispute!) on my Revolut card which I literally use nowhere else, and this started after entering it in their app! Plus I am getting SCAM/PHISHING MESSAGES on my phone when I did not previously. It seems that they SELL your personal data (phone, name, surname, date of birth, email address, card details) to other companies. Their SUPPORT IS NON EXISTENT. They reply (actually it's only 1 person) where and when they want to. The app is full of bugs (which was from the beginning) and lags a lot, and recently they also added hidden fees per transaction per person. In the website they clearly said it was going to be free "forever" for the "early users" (they removed it now but can easily be found in archives). They secured a 3.5 M fund and they aren't able to create an ease to use app without bugs and respect privacy of the user. Plus the weird transactions. They CANNOT BE TRUSTED. I wish I knew these from the begin and tell others to avoid before giving out any personal details to them.

I can't log in my account because it can't verify my phone number! I try to contact the customer service. But it does not reply to me all the time.The app is just a piece of shit.That's all.

Pay attention SCAM

Fantastic application—until they introduced a €0.20 fee per transaction per person via an unclear email. A couple ends up paying €0.40 per transaction. They also set a maximum monthly cap of €5 per person, which over 12 months becomes €60 per person, and obviously €120 for two people. At that point, it no longer makes any sense to use it: charging per transaction in a cashless world is simply not sustainable.
A real shame—great idea, ended very badly.

P.S. Nowhere is it clearly stated that there are fees, unless you dig into the app’s FAQs. Even in the onboarding tour explaining how it works, there’s no mention of any cost. The transaction fee is not shown on the transaction itself; you can only infer it by comparing the receipt with the Cino transaction amount. This is the kind of practice that would certainly not sit well with antitrust authorities.

numerous transactions have been incorrect on the split, adding up the total to more that what the bill was!! SCAM!!
Paid £3.11 per person and the total bill was £5.84
Not the first time
Charged £0.84 per person and that bill was £1.25 !!
I don’t think £0.84 x 2 adds to £1.25 but Yano maybe it’s my math !!! Stay away !!! SCAM

Innovation is here

We discovered Cino through ChatGPT when we were fed up with fees and the hassle of topping up a joint account. I had to dig a bit to find it, but it was worth it.

What we like most is how natural it feels in daily life. We still use our phones to pay like we normally would, the merchant name shows up clearly on our bank statements, and we even get notified when the other person pays. That level of transparency really makes a difference.

There’s no physical card, but honestly, does anyone really need that anymore? Between mobile payments and online shopping, we’ve never missed it.

For us as a couple, Cino has replaced a joint account without any of the stress — no fees, no negative balances, no constant top-ups. And it’s free.

I can easily see it being just as useful in a shared flat or for roommates. It has made our finances lighter and more transparent, and we’re really grateful to the team for creating something so practical.

Flexible and automated bill-splitting experience

I’ve been using Cino since the early days, and it really makes splitting bills stress-free.
It might sound silly but before, when dining out with my girlfriend or friends, I sometimes even avoided going because I hated the awkward “who'll pay this time?” moment.
With Cino, those shared payments are basically automated, and I love it.

One small feature request: when changing split ratios, it would be great to enter an exact amount as well, not only percentages.

Highly recommend Cino

Highly recommend Cino. It's such a simple solution to a very annoying problem - managing a shared budget as a couple. Cino issues you with a digital card which you both link to your bank cards and add to your Apply wallets. When one of us pays with the Cino card it splits it between us automatically, i.e. I pay only my share of the bill. We don't have to chase each other for transfers anymore or keep mental tabs on who paid last. Love it!

Best app!

Best app!! I was so tired of asking my friends to pay me back with Spitwise. Now we go on our holidays and dinners and we pay easily together. I loved it so much that now I use it everyday with my partner: we pay netflix, groceries, date and holidays! I love Cino, is really a game changer!

Gets the job done

Splitwise worked well but I still had to chase my friends for a few euros here and there (and I really hated asking for €1-5 back)!

Finally with this app, my anxiety went away since everything is now split up-front.

I wish they made it easier to split the bill with someone not on Cino though because some of my friends hate downloading apps.

Big yes to Cino from us!

My boyfriend and I were among the first users of Cino in Italy. I first discovered them about a year ago through an Instagram ad with a tagline I found absolutely brilliant: “The app that makes you forget about Excel sheets, Splitwise, and other similar tools.”

It’s a fantastic solution for anyone who has roommates, lives with their partner, or goes on big trips with friends. Our only initial concern was safety and security, but I can confidently say it’s completely safe.

For example, we were once scammed by a hotel in Santorini, and the payment had been made with our Cino card. Throughout the entire refund process, Cino’s customer service was incredibly responsive and helpful. Honestly, given the state of most customer service these days, I was pleasantly surprised—especially from a young startup.

In short: it’s a big yes from us. We love it, and we use it every single day.

Best app for splitting bills

Been using this for a few months now and love it! By far the best app for splitting bills and tracking shared expenses. As the friend who always covers the bill and asks people to pay me back after, this has saved me so many awkward conversations. Now, the bills just get split automatically when we pay with the group card - everyone's share just comes out of their bank instantly. And that's that, job done. I've used it for group trips and it's gone down a treat because it doesn't charge any fees, and no one had to settle up after the holiday. Never had any issues with it in the UK or travelling. The only thing I don't like is the fact you can't split by amount, just %, but apparently that feature's coming soon. Fingers crossed.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM, CINO

I DO NOT RECOMMEND CINO. There are a bunch of immature "influencers" behind it. They disabled my account and my partners account before we EVEN use the card. Plus they got the details of our credit cards. I wrote to the support. They never replied back. It seems that it's normal for them to do that according the comments here. Awful experience. You are better with a joint account rather than this buggy app.

No charge on bank account

The issue with the app, for me and my partner, has been that their share of the payment wasn't charged to their bank account, thus making the service unusable. We tried contacting the Cino customer service and sent a few emails, with no response. After some time we decided to stop using the service. It's a shame since creating the group and the card is really easy, but for an app that is meant to handle daily transactions, such problems should be treated with high priority. We will be discouraging people from using this app.

Slow (or absent?) customer service

My cino card has been charging half of the payment only to the other person, and while on the app it shows that I have been charged as well, for some reason I never got charged in 2 weeks that I have used it. My credit card does not give me these problems, this is the first instance where it happened. So I contacted support to get help with this major issue, but so far I have not received an answer back.
