The concept behind Merlin AI is…

The concept behind Merlin AI is genuinely promising and the idea of having an all-in-one assistant is something I was really hoping for. I even cancelled my ChatGPT subscription with the expectation that Merlin AI could replace it. Unfortunately, the product is not mature enough yet to be a reliable alternative.

There is no native macOS app and the iOS app still suffers from bugs. Importing files is extremely slow and importing content directly from a webpage simply does not work due to a persistent bug. I reported this issue weeks ago, but it still has not been resolved. To me, this suggests that the company currently does not have the capacity to fix issues at a reasonable pace.

Merlin AI has potential, but in its current state it feels unfinished and not ready to serve as a true all-in-one solution. I hope it improves over time, but for now I cannot recommend it.

I have asked for a refund, but since my subscription is allready more than 2 months old I cannot get it. I will go back to one of the main players in ai world.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE: Service is unusable, performance is awful, support denies legitimate refunds.

I was initially satisfied with Merlin, but the service quality has plummeted dramatically over the past few months. The current performance is atrocious—it is literally about ten times slower than the free version of ChatGPT.

The core advertised features have either vanished or are completely unreliable:

OCR/Attachment processing: Crucial features for my workflow are now inconsistent or missing entirely.

Speed and Reliability: The tool is painfully slow, causing major productivity bottlenecks.

Model Capabilities: The features and capabilities no longer match what was promised upon subscription.

THE SUPPORT IS UNCOOPERATIVE AND UNFAIR:

Despite raising these objective technical issues (unusable speed, missing advertised features), the support team (Pritam) first confirmed the cancellation of future charges, but flat-out refused to issue a refund for the remaining subscription period and the previous months of degraded service, citing a strict policy.

Conclusion: I paid for a premium service and received a crippled, slow tool and zero support when requesting a legitimate refund. Do not waste your money. They will take your payment, deliver an inferior product, and deny any responsibility.

Terribile Service and Misleading practices

I requested a refund for my annual Merlin AI subscription because the service is extremely poor and does not deliver the quality or performance promised.

Despite clearly following their Refund Policy for annual subscriptions, the company refused my request, citing a 3-month limit that only applies to low-usage refunds.

I even contacted my lawyer to clarify the matter but they still ignored the policy. Completely dissatisfied and would not recommend.

DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY. Merlin is run by a bunch of indain sofware devs with poor knowledge.
1.No API integration. so it cant make documents
2.No proper OCR
3.Can not even read a simple excel/ppt properly and keeps giving errors.
I've used the pro version for close to an year now. Its a total scam

Great Potential, but Unsuitable for Students Due to Missing OCR

As a student, I rely heavily on AI tools to help me study and review my class notes. I purchased Merlin AI Pro with the expectation that I could easily upload my documents and interact with them. Unfortunately, the product has a significant flaw that makes it unusable for my academic needs.The main issue is that Merlin AI lacks Optical Character Recognition (OCR). This means it cannot process PDFs that contain scanned text or images, which is very common in academic materials and my own exported notes. While I can upload my notes as individual images, this is not a practical solution when I have to upload 20-40 images for a single document. This limitation was a major disappointment and is a critical missing feature for any student who works with scanned textbooks, handouts, or image-heavy notes.On top of this core issue, I've also found the application to be buggy at times, which can disrupt the workflow.In summary, while Merlin AI Pro might be a useful AI assistant for browsing the web, I cannot recommend it to students or anyone who needs to work with scanned documents or PDFs containing images. The lack of OCR is a deal-breaker for academic use.

Customer support sucks

1. Their support team consists maybe of ONE guy who literally closes the tickets without confirming if he's managed to resolve your issue.

1.1. I'd be embarrassed to have him on the team he is NO help whatsoever.

1.2 Their support wastes your time literally you have to keep asking them same questions again and they never understand what you are talking about.

1.3 This is a buggy support system run by what seems to be ONE incompetent guy eager to close your ticket and not resolve your problem

1.4 FIRE him and get someone who listens to customers.
And doesn't make them go back and forth 25 times on simple issues.

2. Their UI sucks, is slow loading and buggy

This is an ongoing problem with their team buggy UI, buggy customer service, buggy product.

Unfortunately signed up for a one year subscription of Merlin Ai.
Don’t do the mistake I did, and waste $60!
The Merlin AI is VERY far from ChatGPT experience. Fails often, and you get the sense that it’s really not the new models you pay for, but “something else”. Fails to solve questions or prompts that even the free version of ChatGPT solves in seconds.

Generally Horrendously slow compared to ChatGpt, and the iOS app breaks and fails so bad that it’s basically useless.

Money completely wasted, Merlin AI does not deliver on it’s promise😠

I have a subscription at them for one…

I have a subscription at them for one year and every time I contacted them they always helped me. I also like that they make updates very often and they add the new AI models very fast. They listen to their community very much.

A disingenuous company using false…

A disingenuous company using false marketing.

I bought a year's subscription on a 'special discount', marketed as being exactly the same as the regular unlimited year plan, only to find they put drastically decreased server limits on the plan, with no disclaimers to the customer about this at all.

The company said it's the same product. It's categorically not, if there are more severe server usage limits. They are unrepentant and have not changed their advertising or made other users aware of this.

It's OK to limit usage on different tiers, it's not OK to not disclose it.

So if you're tempted by their 'unlimited' plan on offer, know that it is not at all the same as the regular yearly plan. Their product is actually pretty good but their methods are extremely shady.

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service, issue trying activate a licence after purchasing lifetime access its been 6 weeks and nothing has progressed. I'm constantly having to chase support. This company is doomed to fail look at all other options over this company.
