New thrills for experienced eBay member.

I have been an eBay member for almost 30 years and Goldin auctions live was a exhilarating experience. It brought back the experience of sitting in a live auction house. Coleman was top notch at showing and describing everything. Can't wait for their next live Star Wars auction, I'll be watching and bidding.

1 Star

1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Experience

If you’re considering working with Goldin Auctions, I strongly suggest thinking twice.

At Collect-A-Con ATL February 6, Alex Fung approached my table about a DBZ slab I had priced at $12,000. He told me he could get that price and that the buyer would cover all fees. Based on that, I trusted him and handed over my card.

What he did NOT tell me was that the slab wouldn’t even be listed for an entire month.

That lack of transparency cost me thousands of dollars.

Had I known there would be a delay, I would have sold the card on the show floor for around $10,000 without hesitation. Instead, during that month-long delay, the market fluctuated heavily—from about $14K down to $8K—and somehow my card ended up selling for $5,400… the lowest sale this slab has seen in months.

That’s not bad luck—that’s poor decision-making.

To make matters worse, the card was listed alongside a Black Label slab, which obviously drew the serious buyers away. Anyone in this space knows that directly hurts the final sale price.

From start to finish, this was a terrible experience. Communication was poor, expectations were misrepresented, and the end result speaks for itself.

I would not trust Goldin with another card.

I have sent them a list, no response

I have sent them a list, 3 times, of about 50 vintage BGS graded baseball cards I would like to auction. It's been two months since I sent the original request. I got a response saying they received my list but have not heard from anyone. My take is they are not as professional of a auction house as they advertise they are. This list of cards are just the first of 100's I have to auction. So seller be ware, as I now don't feel comfortable sending them the cards when they can't even response to the initial request.

This auction can’t be trusted- lists…

This auction can’t be trusted- lists items for bidding which has vague descriptions and they want you to believe verbiage is industry accepted. When confronted makes unacceptable excuses , they would rather burn bridges
All collectors please veer to other auctions houses,

⭐ Goldin Auctions Review

⭐ Goldin Auctions Review – As a Long-Time Fan, This Experience Was Extremely Disappointing

I purchased a Dec. 10, 1984 Michael Jordan Signed Sports Illustrated Cover from Goldin back in 2023. At the time, I didn’t check the authentication right away because Goldin is a big name — one of the “top dogs” in the industry — so I assumed it was a no-brainer that everything would be properly verified. I’ve purchased from Hollywood Memorabilia, Pristine Auctions, and a few others over the years and have never once had an issue, so I trusted the process.

When I went to verify the piece recently, the authentication sticker and serial number came up blank in every database — Upper Deck, Beckett, JSA — you name it. After contacting Goldin, they informed me the item was actually sold without a COA, and none of the authenticators would verify it. That was shocking for an auction house of this size, especially one that advertises strict standards and buyer confidence.
Goldin refunded my purchase price, but they refused to refund the $551.14 CAD in duty I paid to import it. I understand they don’t collect duty for business reasons, but the fact is:
They shipped me an unverified, un-authenticatable item, and I ended up eating the cost. That’s unacceptable.

I even asked if they could offer a replacement — any authenticated MJ piece — and was told they had nothing available. What makes that frustrating is that Goldin has multiple MJ items currently listed on the site, many of them under the value of what I originally paid. In a situation like this, they absolutely could have “found” something to make it right.
As advice to anyone buying from Goldin (or any auction house):
Always check the authentication the moment the item arrives, no matter who you’re buying from. I trusted the name, the reputation, the show, and I assumed everything was good — clearly, that was a mistake.

The only person who handled the situation professionally was Nick from the shipping department. He was the most helpful person I dealt with. Customer service should take notes from him on how to communicate and take accountability.
Goldin did refund the sale price, but the duty was never reimbursed, and no alternative item was offered.
If this review is still posted, that means nothing has been done to resolve the duty issue or fully make this right — regardless of whatever response they may leave publicly.

As a long-time fan of the show, this experience was disappointing and really changed how I view the company. I hope they improve their quality control and customer service because this is not the standard I expected from Goldin.

Goldin Sells Fake PSA Cards

Purchased a $32,000 card from Goldin. Now being told by PSA the card might be a fake. Not only will Goldin refuse to help but they said too much time has passed to offer a refund. Part of the reason you pay a 20% premium is to guarantee items are authentic. This is a large $ item which should be given more consideration. Special thanks to Tim Henry at Goldin customer service for his many bolded comments in his e mail back to me spelling out exactly how they won't help me in anyway.

I learned of Goldin on TV

I learned of Goldin on TV. they leave a serious false impression about what they claim they will do for their sellers. I fell for their hype, especially the association with Payton Manning, who I believed would not associated with what has proven to be such a scam operation. I suspect Payton still has no idea what a bunch of New Jersey scammers they are. They did nothing to promote my item to pertinent and focused potential buyers as they implied they do routinely. Instead, it was deeply buried in a long, multi-paged auction site where it finally got one low-ball bid that I was forced to accept (we do not allow “reserves”). So, it seems the seller is pretty much a sucker in their view. Stay away from these people…they are a classless, unscrupulous, untrustworthy organization and should be under investigation by the FBI and State of NJ AG. Payton Manning should be ashamed to be associated.

Avoid Goldin Auctions at all cost

Avoid Goldin Auctions at all cost

Phew! What a doozy. I consigned a boat load of items at Goldin Auctions

First starting with a card that routinely comps $1-5k range depending on platform. One that sold historically for $2k +.

This item sold for a value less than $1,000

I reached out to understand what happened, what the level of marketing or promotion was and was met with responses that were so poor.

They said to me “you are under a contract. If you do not agree to terms , you should not have signed.”

After selling my card at multi thousand dollar loss.

They were so rude , unprofessional and downright disrespectful.

I have cards with them currently that are in their possession and they are refusing to send them back to me.

I know Goldin will not sell these for the value they should be achieving. But they refused to send them back.

Please for your money and cards sake DO NOT USE GOLDIN AUCTIONS

Absolutely diabolical

Honestly - warning to sellers!!!

I sold a PSA graded 10 card worth £2.5-3k+ and it sold for $900. No marketing or promotion and my emails and calls went unanswered throughout.

Never to use again.

Ridiculous fees, slow shipping

Ridiculous “buyers premium”, we all know you already get a ridiculous cut from the seller as well. Just double dipping on both ends, rather greedy IMO. Then I promptly pay just to wait while they take their time shipping. It’s been two weeks since my payment…still not shipped. Absolutely ridiculous, nothing they offer is worth your time and money. Go through someone else, I’ll certainly never do business with them again. Might still watch the show on Netflix’s but that’s about it.

I bought 3 items

I bought 3 items. The usual buyers premium was 20 but upped to 22%. Then if I payed by credit card OR WIRE they tacked on an additional 3%.
When I payed by ACH debit the 3% went away and I was left paying additional 11.1% TAX even though the combined tax of my town and state (Illinois) is only 8.5%.
Still waiting for a response from these crooks!

My first experience with this company

My first experience with this company. I won an auction with a bid of $180, but the final price ended up being $253.64. Let me break down how all the extra fees add up:

Winning Price: $180
Commission: $39.60 (22% on top of the winning price)
Insurance: $1.98 (1.1%)
Shipping: $6.00 (3.3%)
Taxes: $19.13 (10.6%)
Payment Processing Fee: $6.93 (2.7%)

That’s an extra $73.64 in fees, bringing the total to $253.64, which is 40.91% more than my winning bid. While the commission, is understandable, it should be built in - this business model is designed to make the consumer pay for everything.

Now, consider this: if you win an item, and the fair market value is exactly what you bid and won, say $1,000, and you pay a %22 markup commission plus 18% in other fees, you’ve essentially lost 41%% on your money and investment. Why? Because now you have to wait for the item's value to go up 42% or find a buyer willing to pay a 42% markup just for you to make back 1% on your investment. It's a losing proposition.

Know this, the payment processing fee of $6.93 (2.7%), is their business cost and they are passing it on to (YOU) the consumer, allowing them to avoid paying for credit card processing. Essentially, they make the customer pay for their own credit card fees!

If you bought an item for $10,000, you'd end up paying around $410 just for the processing fee alone—something the company should absorb, but instead, they pass it on to you.

This business model is the definition of making the consumer cover all costs. If you plan to bid and win, be aware that you’ll likely pay approximately 40.91% more than your winning bid.
