GO Outdoors - Chester Avis 

Huge thanks to Helen and Izzy for resolving a 5 week dispute with Customer Services in the space of 20 minutes. It is because of them being so efficient and lovely that I have revised my previous 1 star rating. Go Outdoors online shopping and central customer services is a disgrace. Unless you are going to deal directly in store with a human being, save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. Huge thanks to Helen and Izzy for their help and diligence. Be warned, if your order is not fulfilled due to GO not having stock, you will be in for a world of pain trying to get your money back. Please also be advised the website will allow you to order items that aren't in stock! Avoid at all costs!! 5 stars to Helen and Izzy, 0 stars for the company.

Great customer service by George O with my choice on outdoor seating and leisure wear. The Saltney store is huge and has a great range of products, at reasonable prices for members. Will be back again soon.

1 star – Incorrect price and poor customer service

Bought a 20L 12V cooler advertised at £39.00 on the shelf as the member price. At the till I was charged £49.00, despite specifically asking the cashier to confirm the price before paying.

I then had to go back to the shelf, take the actual price tag to the till and request a £10 refund. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the inconvenience. Instead, the cashier simply said this “always happens” when they adjust prices.

I asked her to make the manager aware so the pricing could be corrected and other customers aren't overcharged. Unfortunately, after this experience, I have little confidence that this will actually be done.

Mistakes happen, but charging the wrong price, failing to identify the issue when I specifically queried it, and then showing no concern when it was pointed out is very disappointing.

I did not receive notification that my purchase had arrived at the Saltney store.When ordering online I was told that my members card had expired, when making an in store purchase a week previously my receipt showed I had over a month before it expired.

Cannot give Simon and Charlie enough praise for their support. We came up after seeing that a life jacket we needed was in stock, only to find out once we got there that it was in that days delivery so could have been on any of the 35 pallets that came in that day.
Simon couldn’t do more to help us, with his team by pure luck managing to spot them in the warehouse and pulled one out for us! Charlie was working the tills and kept my daughter in high spirits whilst we waited.

Good customer service isn’t always praised, so shout out to the team at Go Outdoors!

Excellent service

First time visiting Go Outdoors, we enjoyed looking at all the tents to help us makre our decisions. A massive thank you to Charlie, he was very knowledgeable about the products we needed as first time campers and about the offers available around the store. Charlie was friendly and willing to help which made a positive experience, representing the go outdoor company well which we will gladly pass on to family and friends.

Went to purchase a couple of chairs, unfortunately they only had one in stock, so I ordered on line. Chairs came in the next couple of days. Staff at Chester were very helpfull.

The out of town stores have a very good choice of products, ranging from low cost options to premium brands. Click and collect is convenient for items that aren't in stock, and the returns policy is good for items that turn out not to fit well and are returned unused.

I really had no idea what sort of e-bike I needed. Simon was very patient and thorough and offered plenty of helpful information and demonstrations . When it was narrowed down to a final selection, pedals were fitted and tyres inflated, so that I could try the bike in safety in the store.
I really appreciated that I wasn't rushed and pushed towards a more expensive bike that I didn't need.
There were accessories that were needed ......

We visited the Chester showroom today and the tent we wanted was out of stock , apart from the display model
Simon was so helpful , he disassembled the tent and packed up for us . I could see the store was extremely busy but he was fantastic as he continued helping other customers aswell as us...full credit Simon.

Served by Charlie this morning, what an absolute delight. Customer service skills were outstanding, his knowledge was excellent, he really went above and beyond to help us. There was a problem with our membership not displaying, he rectified this and asked if we had blue light card also (which we weren't aware we could use). Such a pleasant change to be served by someone with a smile! We actually went back and asked for his name we were so impressed with him. Thanks Charley 👍

As a clueless camper, I approached the tills for assistance and I was lucky enough to meet Charlie! Nothing was too much trouble for him. I feel that he went above and beyond to help me and make sure my experience was the best possible.

You really are a very lucky company to have such a joyful, knowledgeable and kind person representing your business.

Ordered online for pick up in store. I somehow missed my blue light discount so when I picked up I explained to the assistant and was delighted when with no fuss they sorted this for me. Staff were very helpful and polite even though it was close to closing time. All in all great products at great prices with great customer service.
