Staff were very helpful, patient and explained to to us about any offers included with the items we bought.

One member of staff also showed us around the camping equipment and explained what we might need and wasn't pushy with us either.

The 2 ladies Leeann and Kayla at the till were great including the young man who showed us round.

Great store with a massive range of equipment and clothing. Really enjoyed looking around and checking out tents and camping chairs. It’s great that lots of tents are pitched outside as well as inside. Much better to see and experience them.

In particular, Leeann at the checkout was lovely. Such a bubbly person with great customer service skills.

We came to your store yesterday and was greeted by Kayla very bubbly and outgoing and super helpful! We needed a gazebo taken down for us to buy sold as seen thats when Jack and Kev came in and helped Kayla take it down and put back in its packaging, which we appreciated so much as well as being so relieved 😅 Over all experience was lovely and will definitely be back again.

The shop is clean, tidy, stock well-organised and we could find exactly what we wanted.
The slight criticism is the changing cubicles are basic at best. There wasn't anywhere to put clothes I was taking off other than the floor. A chair would help. There was no peg for my coat. There was however a rail for the 'try-on' goods.
Ruth at the till was very friendly, helpful and efficient.
The car park looks like it needs some serious attention, as there are numerous yellow plates covering pot-holes! All in all, an enjoyable and fruitful visit, and it would have been five stars but for the changing room.

Ruth was excellent. Super friendly and helpful, and found me my size from new stock when it wasn’t out on the shelf yet.

I visited Go Outdoors (Wakefield) today. Overall the staff were friendly. Emily in particular couldn't have been more helpful. She was friendly and professional, and gave me some excellent advice! Mya serving on the tills also deserves a mention. Thank you both!

Good customer services

Rob gave good advice about which size tyres would be best for my mountain bike, while Leeann on the tills was very friendly and professional.

Easy collection with reserve and collect. Only downside was that left a security tag on.

Went to go outdoors and had a look at the assembled tents outside. They had several that were greatly reduced as they were ex display models. I purchased a hi gear Hampton 600 nightfall. It was made clear to me that the tent was sold as seen and could not be returned under any circumstances. I checked the tent as best as I could, after all it was assembled, and all seemed well. I could not take the tent home straight away as it had been raining and I was told that after a dry period and the tent was fully dried out, I would receive a phone call to collect it. This happened after a few days and the tent was ‘roughly’ packed in to the bag it came with. It hadn’t been packed with any due care and attention , but at least it was in the bag. My partner collected it and she didn’t know to check anything and she took it to her house to store it for a couple of weeks until we needed to use it. This weekend, Friday the 22nd may, we collected the tent and went camping. First thing I noticed was the bag was ripped. Never mind. It should have been £550 and we bought it for £210. Bargain, so far. Tried to assemble it, used a you tube video and it mentioned inserting the colour coded poles into the colour coded sleeves. There was no colour coding on the poles. I had to lay them out side by side and try and work out which pole went where!! Then I noticed some hi vis tape on one of the poles and I tried this pole in a sleeve that had gold piping and it seemed to work, I then guessed the rest. I noticed on one of the poles that there was severe perishing on the ends of several sections, and the fiberglass was all splintered. I check the pole with the tape on and it seemed that the tape was running repair by go outdoors. There was no way I could have checked these poles whilst it was assembled, but nonetheless, I repaired them with duct tape and still felt like I had got a bargain. When I erected the tent, the inside was full of dirt, grass, etc and had not even been swept out for me. For some reason, I googled the tent and the go outdoors website . I was shocked and appalled to see the same sent up for general sale at £550 and for members it was £114.97!!! I’d paid £209!! They new I was a member and yet they allowed me to purchase a damaged, second hand tent for nearly £100 more than a new one!
I called customer services today, as I did not want to deal with the store; mainly because they had driven home the point that I could not return the tent under any circumstances. Customer services asked me to email a screenshot of the ad showing the price at £114 which I did. They told me my complaint had been logged but that I would have to contact the store with my issue. I just could not be bothered. With the knowledge that they’d told me I couldn’t return it I just could not be bothered driving miles out of my way to be told that I bought it knowing I could not return it. What a shambles. You live and learn!!
