GO Outdoors - York Vangarde Avis 

Part of my item was missing. Customer service cannot help as it was bought in store which is a 2hr round trip away. Store do not answer phone. My only option therefore is to spend 2 hrs returning to the store which is not in a location I would usually travel to.
Update - when I finally got through to the store they were really helpful & resolved my issue quickly.

The young man (little)Joshua who dealt with our enquiries at the Garmin counter in Go Outdoors was outstanding at his job, he knew his products extremely well, was polite and patient with us answering all our questions resulting in us buy two Garmin Watches.

Hubby couldn't find what he wanted in store, till we asked SUE and she not only took us to the Tilly hats, but explained alot of facts about them, helped him choose and got hubby to part with his money (which is not an easy thing). She was a breath of fresh air as far as in store service in concerned.

We visited GO Outdoors York Vanguard just before closing time to look at a tent, and the service we received was outstanding.

The staff were incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the tent in detail without making us feel rushed. Their knowledge and advice gave us the confidence to go ahead and buy it.

A special mention goes to Izzy on the tills, who kindly kept the store open for us while we completed our purchase. She was also fantastic with our kids, keeping them entertained while we sorted out a bank transfer. Nothing felt like too much trouble.

It's refreshing to come across people who genuinely care about providing great customer service. Izzy and the rest of the team are a real credit to GO Outdoors. Thank you for making our visit such a positive experience!

I booked a session on the mechanical horse. Carys who assisted me with the session was really patient with me as I hadn't been on a horse for over 15 years. She explained the procedure and answered all my questions brilliantly.

Very happy with the dog cool coat , it works well in the heat.
The click and collect experience was good and efficient.

Tall Alex at Vanguard was extremely helpful today.
Was looking for a particular product for camping and led me straight to the appropriate spot and made sure it was what I was looking for. Top marks.

I came in to the store first thing this morning carrying a sleepy toddler. A wonderful lady came up and asked if I needed help finding anything, she then led me straight to the camping chairs and helped me find the ones I needed and insisted on carrying them for me which was hugely appreciated! I just needed to be as quick as possible so she then took me to the till, I paid and then she even carried the 3 chairs to the car for me! So thank you Sue! You made my morning much easier. What a great lady.

The shop was spacious not crammed with baskets of items for offer or in the sale as would think for this time of year! You could walk around the store easily. The store was at cool temperature and a wide variety of goods for sale in each department suiting everyone's tastes . Customer service from all the staff was exceptional and it was nice to ask where something was without feeling like you was interupting their day. There was a number of young people working ,including a young man on the till. He was both smart and friendly and looked like he really was enjoying his work and being part of a bigger team . The energy in the store was positive which made my visit enjoyable . Definitely would go back again.

Good range of choice and great prices for members

Lovely store, lots of selection and availability of sizes. Only thing that let it down was service at till. Staff member grumpy and not friendly, quite surprising service in lovely store like this.

Visited Go Outdoors at Vanguard as my husband needed some sunglasses for golf. Great selection in store. We were assisted by Nibal, she was so helpful and patient, great service, an asset to the store.

I ordered a gift card for next day delivery (factoring in the weekend), which 16 days later, I still haven’t received. I emailed twice, no response. I eventually got hold of someone over the phone, by this stage, the birthday I ordered the gift card for had passed, so I was seeking a refund.
I was informed gift cards could not be returned, but a new one could be sent, which the use by date could be extended on and the delivery fee refunded.

The delivery fee has gone back into my account, but 16 days later, still no gift card. Next time I’ll use Cotswolds instead.

It’s a massive shop with loads of great stuff in it, but…..

It’s is service that makes a retail experience and being looked after one of the managers “Josh” my experience was impeccable. The product knowledge, amazing, guiding me to the right products.

Found what I needed easily then the checkout girl pointed out a bargain I was entitled to. She was called Niamh

Staff on the checkout were good. But be warned if your an epileptic, several lights are faulty and flashing. One has been like this from just after the store first opened last year.
