Tried to get information on a Tesla, they state the battery health is 92% when I asked to see the State of Health (soh) certificate for the battery, the girl on the phone said they can’t provide that information for Data protection hahaha, it’s a SOH certificate about the car battery and she said she can’t send it to anyway, but she would do a video of the car haha, they SoH certificate should be available for ALL electric cars.
Went to view a Volvo XC90 T8 that looked great on paper — clean history, fair price, everything checked out until the test drive. Noticed a clunking noise in reverse, which research afterwards showed matches a known and potentially expensive fault on these cars.
The salesman was genuinely friendly and helpful throughout the whole viewing. When I raised the noise, he said he'd "get it checked over on Monday" and that I "wouldn't hear it after that" — how dismissive he was about it suggested to me he already knew there was an issue. I pointed out that not hearing it isn't the same as it being fixed. That's when he switched instantly — no longer the same smiley, easygoing person I'd been speaking to minutes before — and rudely said "don't worry about it, I'll sell to someone else."
Everything else about the car and process was fine up to that point, which makes it more disappointing — a fair, reasonable question about a mechanical issue shouldn't flip someone's whole demeanour like that. Wouldn't return, and would think carefully before buying anything here without an independent inspection first.
I wish there was a negative star. I would strictly advise everyone to STAY AWAY from them. Extremely rude. I asked if I could reserve a vehicle. The gentleman said someone has already applied for finance on the car and their finance application has been approved but if I could make a £500 non refundable deposit, they would refuse to sell to that person.
I then asked for the deposit to be paid via credit card as they stated they accept all credit cards upon which the person became extremely rude and started personal verbal attacks in an extremely unprofessional manner and said then tried to persuade me again by sending me other ads and stating I was missing out on a bargain. It was the worst sales experience of my life and I then looked up trust pilot and the reviews and a 2.4 rating tell the story itself. Please AVOID this dealership. The was arrogant and said he did not care about any trust pilot reviews.
I recently travelled to Hanworth Autos to view an Audi e-tron 55 that they had advertised for around £17,000.
Unfortunately, the experience left me uncomfortable enough that I decided not to proceed with the purchase.
I had several reasonable questions about the car, particularly because an electric vehicle of this age and mileage requires proper checks of the high-voltage battery and electrical systems. However, the customer service and attitude I experienced were disappointing.
The salesperson became quite defensive when I asked questions about the vehicle and its condition. At one point, I was told that they don't sell "approved perfect cars" and that if I wanted that level of vehicle, I should go to an approved Audi dealer and pay the premium price.
I completely understand that a used car from an independent dealer won't necessarily be in perfect condition, and I wasn't expecting it to be. However, I do expect a dealer to be able to answer reasonable questions about a £17,000 vehicle without becoming defensive.
The service history provided was essentially a small printed extract on an A4 sheet rather than the detailed documentation I would expect for a £17,000 premium vehicle. There was also no battery health report available.
When I inspected the car, I noticed several things that concerned me:
- The rear nearside tyre had visible cuts/damage to the sidewall.
- There were multiple warning messages displayed on the instrument cluster, including a fault relating to the full beam/headlights and messages referring to the owner's manual.
- The car generally looked reasonable, but there were also obvious signs that it hadn't been prepared particularly well for sale, including significant staining on the panoramic sunroof blind.
None of these issues necessarily proves that the car was mechanically unsound. However, collectively they raised too many questions for me to feel comfortable spending £17,000 without a proper diagnostic inspection and battery health check.
What ultimately made my decision was the combination of the condition of the car, the warning messages, the lack of proper documentation and, most importantly, the attitude I experienced when asking questions.
I decided to walk away.
This review is based solely on my own experience. I'm not saying that every car sold by Hanworth Autos will have these issues, but I would strongly recommend that anyone considering buying from them does their own independent inspection, obtains the full service history, checks the battery health and investigates every warning message before committing to a purchase.
So the initial experience was great, collected the car was very happy with it. The where a few defects that weren’t mentioned in the ad ie stone damage to the bonnet, but it was still a good price. I was promised the car would be washed and it wasn’t. Whilst there it had a weird experience which we witnessed when someone tried to steal a car off of the forecourt. Felt really sorry for him this was Nov 25. He asked me for a review then and I said I’d be happy to give one but I really believe you only give this after having a cough for sometime so here I am.
Aftercare the ball joints needed greasing. I’ve researched heavily and understands that this is a regular problem. In warranty they did this and gave me a replacement. Car was really helpful and was happy when I collected it. Being that I bought the car from them I thought I would book it in again to just give them them my business and being as I bought the car from them. I think the man got the wrong end of the stick, he said he didn’t remember me after giving him the description. I don’t know how anyone can forget that incident. I could hear that attitude in his time and I was already feeling a little defeated in the cool wasn’t really great customer service. So when I called to book it in as the young gentleman that I spoke to and had previously greased the ball joints when I collected the car previous said that they’re actually specialist for doing this. I had done a great job before so I had decided to take it to the dealers where I purchased the card to grease the left side. I said okay cool it’s likely to happen again as the ball joints tend to need re-greasing. I called them a week ago clearly not speaking to him and the gentleman told me to call back to book it in. Immediately defaulted to it not being in the warranty which I know, but I could hear that he had got his back up. I’m not sure if there’s a barrier to communication, a general arrogance, or he was just being rude but generally you do not speak to customers or women that way. He said go find a dealer closer to where you are. I said okay put the phone down. He called me back three times. I’m refuse to answer. There was no need he told me to go elsewhere. When I did answer he was yelling and screaming at the top of his voice screaming don’t call me at this time of the morning it’s clearly perhaps a language where I am but this is no excuse. I told him I’ll be leaving the review now and he advised that he knew where I lived….. I strongly suggest you to research before purchasing or think about after-care of course you may have a different experience to me. Or you may experience the abuse that I just did.
Not great. Called to enquire about a Tesla, but the dismissive nature of the person on the phone was appalling. I asked if it would be possible to get a battery health test on the car; which is a more than reasonable request for an electric vehicle; and her instant answer was, 'We don’t do that.' She followed up with, 'Some cars come with it, others don’t,' and 'I think we will sell the car just fine without it,' adding that they’ve sold over 40 Teslas. It’s so bad that I find it hard to believe this is possible in 2026.
If I had to guess, the staff are likely family or close friends of the manager; the place is run like an 'Eastern European bros club.' Do not buy. Stay away.
Absolutely Shocking Experience
I called Hanworth Autos with some straightforward questions about one of their vehicles advertised on AutoTrader. The advert lacked crucial details, so I simply wanted some clarification before potentially viewing the car.
What happened? The person who answered the phone was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable - just basic information about their own vehicle listing.
RUN. DON'T WALK. RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.
Their attitude during a basic phone call tells you everything you need to know about how they operate. There are countless other reputable dealers out there who actually value customers and provide professional service.
Customer service starts with the very first interaction. If you can't be bothered to answer simple questions politely about your own adverts, you're in the wrong business. Your rudeness has cost you a sale today and likely many more in the future once people read reviews like this.
I wouldn't deal with Hanworth Autos even if they offered me a free car. The potential headache and stress simply isn't worth it. There are too many good dealers out there to waste time with ones that treat customers with contempt.
Do yourself a favour - look elsewhere.
Please stay away from this dishonest and downright rude dealership. Bought the car from these guys in April and never received my logbook and spare key which was promised to me… On top of that, the vehicle got a check engine light come up 2 weeks after the purchase.. I rung the owner today enquiring about the logbook and he started shouting and swearing at me… I am also going to complain to Carloan 365 as they had recommended this dealership.. Absolute disgrace. I wish there was an option to give 0 star..
We bought our two months ago and we are absolutely delighted ! The service was fantasic- everything went quickly ,smoothly, and without any issues .Sara Azeezand Michael were all incredibly helpful ,friendly, and professional throughout the whole proces. The car delivered within two days, which made things even easier .Great experiance from start to finish -highly recommend this dealership! Hanna
Traveled from south Wales to view a Tesla, kept in touch the whole time, while there very polite, and informative about the car, could do enough to help me, would definitely recommend this company
We bought a car off this company 2 weeks ago on the good reviews to find out down the line that car we bought has so many issues we wanted to return the car on the under 30 day grace and get our money back but was told politely NO we don’t do that and that we have cease trading as from today 28th April 2025 and to transgress to court to get our money back the owner was so arigent towards us we have now got stuck with a car we can not use
I bought a car from them, and within 14 days, it broke down on the motorway. I provided proof from the AA, but they accused me of taking the car to another garage and blamed that for the breakdown, refusing to accept a return. They didn’t even service the car, despite claiming it was fully serviced—there wasn’t any engine oil at all! They’re linked with a garage that issues MOTs for faulty cars. Don’t trust these scammers—they claim to be bankrupt, so you won’t get your money back. The lady I dealt with was also very unprofessional.
They tried to get me to pay for the fuel for a test drive claiming they would refund me after, when I said no she got angry then a police detective came in to talk to her about something and she couldn't get me out of there fast enough - dodgy doesn't cover it - don't touch them with a barge poll!
Purchased a car through a finance company. On collection the car seemed fine. I am no AA expert so I cannot do a full mechanical inspection. There was light that said rear seats not locked but as the seats were not in full position I put it down to that. Long story short, took car, got home, this is when the issues started.
Sticky and stiff buttons switches - not a visible issue. On closer inspection it appears someone may have vomited and the attempt to clean missed the internals of the dash and console. Brake discs and pads were so badly warn they now grind, probably greased to avoid this on test drive.
The garage response dealt with none of the issues raised, was rude, unhelpful and uncaring. If you want a good car, do not look here, you will have no end of issues with no resolution. I now have to pay for legal action.
There are too many issues for me to list them all, just do not touch this garage
