Our Harvey was fine for years. Now there’s an issue with all the water smelling apparently due to some bacteria that got into the softener - all the dishes stink whether hand washed or in the dishwasher so we had to disconnect the machine completely. We’ve scheduled maintenance 3 times to resolve this issue and each time to have it canceled on us while leaving the responsibility on us to reschedule yet again. I would not buy an appliance that has such poor maintenance ever again.

Highly impressed with Stuart Chapman's service today. Delivering 5 heavy bags of water softener blocks is no easy feat, but he was incredibly polite, courteous, and efficient throughout the whole process. Fantastic effort!

Used this company for many years. Stuart has made our delivery for a couple of years. He is friendly, always willing to help and very professional. I rate him and the company very highly.

I have used this company for my salt supplies for a long time and am very satisfied with the service.
This review is about the delivery experience. Stuart Chapman delivered my salt this morning and couldn’t have been more helpful. I am disabled and he carried all the packs of block salt to the back of my garage and stacked them on the workbench so that I can access the salt easily. He was polite and friendly and very obliging. Thank-you Stuart.

Terrible support - reported the same issue twice and was promised a support call teh next day. No one has ever called back and i have to keep calling them

Stuart Chapman made my salt delivery this morning. Sent me a text prior to delivery so i knew to expect him. Polite friendly guy - which is always a bonus on a Monday morning!!!!!

Horrendous service post installation and care. They never got in touch at all within the first two years when we are supposed to have a renewal of the water drinking setup, and once we got in touch, their earliest engineer visit was perhaps two months away. We waited, he cancelled. Second time around, he cancelled again due to missing part having not even attended. Abysmal.

Then, more recently, we saw the water was continually draining under the sink, so we are wasting water and salt. Called, they said they can only send someone in after they understand whether it is the reverse osmosis (drinking water) mechanics or the water softener. Realised it wasnt the latter after turning that off, and then on second call with the representative, we followed instructions to understand if the reverse osmosis (and couldnt see any change). Got disconnected. Spoke to THIRD representative who suggested a visit on 21 August, i said that is ridiculous. He would liaise with scheduling team and call me back betgween 4-6pm. Suffice to say, they didnt call. I am now calling for fourth time - ridiculously busy with work and life, but this is almost as bad as dealing with other notorious service providers. Here we go again...called 11.40am, I was second in the queue, then quickly "one"/first, it is now 11.55am. I wish i went with a competitor.

I strongly suspect they have spiralled after the takeover by Culligan.

This company provides an excellent service. I ordered salt on their website and it was delivered the same day which was very impressive. The delivery driver was Stuart Chapman and he texted to say he was on his way.

Delivery of salts by Stuart Chapman, went down a treat - if deliveries can be a treat. What a wonderful gentleman. Super friendly, and a great personality. He made me feel real joy for receiving my salt top ups. Doesn't happen a lot. Sometimes the salts are delivered by a 3rd party, and unless you have a regular delivery guy who knows you, you hardly get a smile from them. So, thank you for making me smile Stuart.

I am writing to share some feedback regarding the water softener installation carried out by Haydon Bour
From the moment he arrived, it was a real pleasure. He explained everything in detail and was incredibly friendly and approachable.
I would highly recommend Haydon; he is a real credit to the business.

We bought a Harvey’s Water Softener in 2021 because my husband has kidney failure and doctors advised him to install a softener due to the hard water in our area. Close to it being installed we suffered a water leak due to poor installation (in the words of Engineer 2) who fixed the problem. Water leaks receded then began again flooding our utility room floor directly below the softener. Engineer 3 said one of the cylinders was cracked and would need replacing at a cost obviously. He also told us the original pipe work for the unit had been incorrectly installed by a previous engineer and would need to be redone. He said once the new cylinder was installed only then would he be able to check if the pump was okay otherwise it would involve a new pump. It seems we would be throwing more money at an expensive dead horse so my next step was to complain to HO from whom we have not received a reply. So now we are left with an unusable water softener. I would ask them to take it away but that would be another charge. It seems Harvey’s is only out to make a profit and doesn’t care about its customers. We are business owners ourselves in the international aviation industry. We have a great reputation due to providing a good service and excellent customer care. Harveys have neither and I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole.

Had sales representative Keith Hicks demonstrate the workings of the product a few weeks ago as we experience very hard water in our area, which was quite impressive.
Keith was very professional and explained the benefits of the system in layman’s terms.
As a result we decided to purchase the water softener system.
Today we had installer Lindon fit the system which we are happy with.
Still early days on performance, but happy with the interaction with the company and their professionalism towards us as customers.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Harvey Water.

On 21/4, I booked a filter replacement service, which cost £144. The very next day (22/4), I discovered a leakage issue and contacted them immediately. Shockingly, the earliest repair appointment they offered was 18/5 — nearly a month later.

Meanwhile, the leakage flooded my kitchen cupboard, and I was simply advised to turn off the RO tap. This meant I had no access to drinking water from the system I paid for. At 36 weeks pregnant, being told to go and buy water from the supermarket instead of being offered urgent support is completely unreasonable and lacking basic care.

Despite explaining my situation, no urgent appointment or compensation was initially offered. After a long and stressful negotiation, and only after requesting to speak to a manager, I was finally given an earlier appointment on 5/5.

Even so, I had to spend additional money (around £20) on bottled water and deal with the inconvenience during a very sensitive time in my pregnancy. This experience has been stressful and disappointing.

As a loyal customer of 5 years, this level of service is unacceptable. The only way to book or manage appointments is by phone, with very long waiting times — even longer than trying to book a GP appointment. There are no alternative contact methods such as email or online booking, which makes the process even more frustrating.

I am now considering removing the RO system entirely, and I regret recommending Harvey Water to my friends.

Overall, this was a very poor experience with no sense of urgency, accountability, or customer care.

Tony delivered the work on time and to a very high standard. What stood out was his willingness to go beyond what was expected — he didn’t just do the job, he made sure everything was properly sorted and working perfectly before leaving.

He was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with throughout. Clear communication, no shortcuts, no hassle — just solid, reliable service.

If you’re getting a water softener installed, ask for Tony. He knows exactly what he’s doing and gets it done right.

After almost 5 years as a loyal customer, I am extremely disappointed with the new leadership at Harvey. The recent approach to financial management has been poor and frustrating, with little effort shown to retain existing customers. It’s very sad to see such a decline in a company I once trusted. I would not recommend their services if you value your time and money.

I bought a water softener 18 months ago. It was incorrectly fitted which caused a minor flood in the kitchen. This was rectified and it was correctly installed. Now it is not working at all and I’m having to wait nearly 3 weeks for an engineer to visit. The App doesn’t work no matter how many times I try to connect. Useless. This was a very expensive product and I expect better technical support.

We had a full demo from Ben who was friendly and knowledgeable. He was also patient as I needed to duck in and out as I was wfh the day he came around. The fitting went well with Nick taking his time and ironing out any potential issues with a colleague by phone. He was there for 4.30 hours and completed a well thought out way of completing the fit. So far a week on the water is definitely softer and the drinking water is good tasting and definitely clearer to look at.
