Very disappointing experience with Hays Travel Brentwood

We booked a 7-night P&O cruise through Hays Travel Brentwood for four people in three cabins. We specifically chose and paid extra for three cabins together after Dan showed us the Deck 14 plan and the available cabins.

When we boarded, we discovered that one cabin had been booked three decks away from the other two. This was not what we booked or paid for.

I spent every day of our cruise going to Guest Services trying to resolve the problem and also contacted Hays Travel and P&O. Unfortunately, the ship was full and nothing could be done.

This caused considerable stress and upset and significantly affected our holiday. My 83-year-old mother needed me nearby hence why we booked next to each other.

After we returned, Dan apologised and acknowledged that something had gone wrong with the booking. Hays Travel’s Compensation Department also acknowledged that there had been a “genuine oversight”, but after taking the matter through their complaints procedure and ABTA, Hays Travel refused to offer more than £250.

The issue is simple: we paid for three cabins together and did not receive what we booked or paid for.
The holiday in total was over £5,000.

My booking was dealt with over the phone and it was very efficient and I was called back as promised which resulted in a short cruise being booked

I love how Hays Brentwood always go above and beyond for us. The whole family and friends now book with this branch s they have seen the brilliant holidays we have gone on. Dan and Lisa amongst just a ew members of staff at this branch are amazing and will even work from home on their days off to get you the best deal possible.

We would like to this opportunity to thank Daniel at the Brentwood Branch for his efforts in securing a suitable cabin at a competitive price, especially the time he spent in reviewing various quotes on multiple occasions. Without his persistence, we would not go on this extra tour which is outside our planned quota.

Myself and husband always book with Hay Brentwood. We always get fantastic service and go out of their way to ensure we get the right holiday and hotel. I need a walk in shower so Dan, the manager, phoned the hotel before we booked to make sure the bathroom was suitable. I cannot recommend Hays more highly. If you are booking a trip then give Hayd a call.

Excellent service from Lisa, she is extremely knowledgeable and made our booking very easy.

My wife and I always find that the staff in the Brentwood branch are friendly, efficient and helpful. We would not go anywhere else to book our holidays. Dan as normal booked us our holiday and made the whole process so simple.

I was very indecisive of where I wanted to go and Carole was very patient with us especially as it was after her home time when we made our final decision
