Airport Taxi racket run at T5
Airport Taxi racket run at T5. We booked an Uber but it was delayed so we went to the taxi rank where the driver said he would do the 2.4m journey for £35 as per the uber. The yellow jacketed queue manager then stuffed his head in the taxi and told the driver that the fare was £50 - less than two and a half miles - (I am aware that the asirport charge £8 for drop off/collection) what is going on!?

I get stressed at the thought of using this airport. The staff are vile you go a long way to find a friendly helpful face here. They do a great job of being as obnoxious as unfriendly and unhelpful as possible. We all know security is important since our country has changed so much, but travellers don’t have to be spoken to and treated like idiots. Too many employed doing very little. Funny seeing a woman wearing face covering in an airport where security and facial recognition is upmost to security, staff are able to cover theirs.

Shockingly bad service at T5
Shockingly bad service at T5. Bad enough that the plane was parked remotely but it took over half an hour to get everyone off the plane and to the terminal. Once in the terminal that's when the joke really started. To get to flight connections you go upstairs, but the escalators were not working. Instead the ground staff channelled hundreds of passengers down to two lifts.
We tried explaining to ground staff that our connecting flight was within 20 minutes. One told us to queue up like everyone else, the other tuned around and walked off without saying a word.
When we eventually made it to flight connections we were too late and had missed our flight. Ended up queueing for another 30 minutes to speak to BA staff where we had to reschedule our domestic flight which was 8 hours later.
Verdict, I can't give less than 1 star (unfortunately) but if you have the opportunity to fly from an alternative airport, take it. The staff here dont care and are not interested in helping.
Over 1 hr wait for bags
Over 1 hr wait for bags. It’s the same story every time.
Why is it that Heathrow is possibly the only airport that keeps getting worse?
Your story on staff shortage was relevant 8 years ago and still you’re terrible.
Does your mangement not have any KPIs, metrics or do they just get paid for showing up!
DO NOT USE BUDGET PARK & RIDE HEATHROW.
DO NOT USE BUDGET PARK & RIDE HEATHROW.
They will steal you car fuel or use car whilst you are away. Steal items from your car. Won't collect you from the airport. Crooks
When I arrived at the airport I had…
When I arrived at the airport I had motion sickness from the ride there. I waited in line for an hour only to be told my flight was cancelled. The Delta gate agent wouldn’t rebook me on the same non stop flight the next day. She told me I had to go wait in another line. By this point I was feeling like I was going to throw up. I left for the disability bathroom so I’d have room to hug the toilet. I didn’t figure it would be a problem with me being in there a while because there was another disability restroom across the way and two other regular ones right there. A Heathrow employee started banging on the door saying they couldn’t hear my responses and for me to exit. I continued to try to explain but she set off an annoying buzzer and claimed I did because I was crazy! I asked her to stop with the buzzer and she said it wouldn’t stop until I left. This kept on until I opened the door and pointed to the fact that the buzzer she was accusing me of setting off was right where they were standing. They just laughed at me. I wish I had gotten their names. All I can tell you is they were heavy set and wearing black scarfs on their heads. I went to try to complain down the hall and it went on deaf ears. I tried to change my flight with Delta to fly out of Gatwick as I never want to step foot in this airport again but the agent told me there were no flights out of any airport to LA except from Heathrow. I know this is not the case as I have flown into Gatwick from LA in September. Anyway, the way you train your employees to lie and gaslight customers (the buzzer) and to insult them by calling them crazy is in defensible.
Rogue meet & greet thieves
Generally I love Heathrow airport but this review is based on the fact that when we landed back there yesterday and a number of passengers had their cars stolen by rogue meet and greet operators and were reporting it to the airport police. That's very worrying, luckily our car came back because we live 3.5hrs north of Heathrow! Can more be done to ensure thieves are not using the airport to steal cars?
As for MOHAMED YOUSEFs review below, I've reported it for his obscene comments about the female border force official who had every right to question the very large red flags over his illegality to remain permanent Vs poor passport validity.
Rude Immigration officer
I’m British Malay, and I went through immigration with my wife, who is not British. I was asked stupid, pointless questions by an European officer (not British btw) — why I had been away for five months, and why my wife was coming to the UK. The answers are obvious: I was away for personal reasons, and she is coming to join me.
It’s a free country. How long I travel is none of their business. My wife is legally entitled to a six-month visa to the UK.
She also stated that my wife passport is near expiry date , which I said no, it still have 8 months left til expiry date! She clearly just try to find any little things to blab about. At this time I kept thinking that she didn’t get any action from her husband !
The whole thing felt like a power trip from immigration. Completely unnecessary, frustrating, and a waste of time. The attitude was ridiculous.
Poor customer service - Very expensive food and parking - never again
Very expensive food and parking. While drop off is free of charge on Frankfurt, Heathrow asks for 7 GBP. I tried to contact customer service as my jacket while passing thru the airport got damaged. It was impossible to reach customer service by phone. By email the reacted at the beginning but than stopped and only send reminders that they will close the case. Poorest ever customer service. Heathrow ? Never again
Useless.
Genuinely confused why the majority of staff here seem like you just dragged them out the streets. All very snarky and rude aswell, been here 30 minutes for a 8 hour stopover and i can tell this is just gonna be a day of misery. The phone charging ports are just decoration. Not a single one of them work. Never again will i land in this absolute shithole. You can't even smoke either, may hoof some water. Its a maze of nothingness.
Ive travelled through Heathrow 3 times…
Ive travelled through Heathrow terminal 5. 3 times in 6 months, unfortunately there is a serious issue with staff attitude at security , staff are disrespectful to travellers actually passive aggressive, not helpful and argumentative. They need to retrain them, I was shocked, not what people need when travelling.
I was due to fly Loganair to Dundee…but this is about T2 and abysmal lackOf service
I was due to fly Loganair to Dundee from LHR T2 on Good Friday. The flight was delayed 3 times before being cancelled. No tannoy announcement. I have complained to Loganair about their side of it, however, the total lack of either interest or assistance that we passengers received from T2 staff was absolutely abysmal. I’m in my 70s and thought the assistance desk (clue in the name) could help me leave the departure lounge and find my luggage from the cancelled Loganair flight. We were sent up and downstairs numerous times and no-one knew anything. Wheelchair assistance suggested I go to security but that was a no go. There was no-one to ask or to help. Just as I was at the end of my tether, 2 wonderful people in purple fleeces - volunteers - walked past and asked if they could help me. They were wonderful! They came up against a lot of the disinterest and frustration that I and other pax experienced but they persevered and, finally, after a lot of hassle, they were able to escort us to the customs Arrivals area where, despite their explaining why we were there, security made us check in as if we had just arrived in the country, have our photos taken and get through via the passport machines. Luckily we all had our passports. They are not usually needed for domestic flights! Our two volunteer angels found out where our luggage was - unceremoniously dumped and abandoned at the end of the carousels in the Arrivals section. Our helpers offered to stay with us but we assured them that we were now able to find our way into the main arrivals hall. No thanks to anyone in T2 staff - it was two wonderful volunteers and a lovely gentleman in a high viz vest from SWP, who helped us out. Thomas Woldbye, shame on you! Your T2 staff are poorly trained and clearly not paid enough to be bothered in their entitled minds! It took two completely lovely UNPAID volunteers to help your p… poor operation out! Rude letter to follow! To those reading this rambling review, do not depend on any help from anyone in T2. You will be ripped off, ignored at best, and your queries may or may not be handled. If you see any volunteers in the purple fleece coats, smiling (a novelty at LHR!), ask for their assistance. They will go above and beyond to assist you. Good luck!
Rude Staff at Security Check
You can push it if you want your luggage to get lost“.
I think this is the worst airport
I think this is the worst airport I’ve ever experienced.
To begin with, you have to pay to access certain areas of the airport. Considering how many things are already quite expensive in England, this leaves a poor first impression.
Then, you have to take a train or metro to move between Terminals 1 and 2 and Terminals 4 and 5, which I find quite unusual and inconvenient. The overall layout feels disorganized, almost like a market or a cluttered mess.
The most surprising part is having to label your own luggage before sending it to the hold something I’ve never seen before. In most other airports, this is handled by staff.
At this rate, we might soon be expected to fly the plane ourselves.
Finally, the staff is not very friendly and doesn’t even respond to a simple “hello.”
A special thanks to the ground attendant and security
Two special experiences I am going to share for the staffs and services in Terminal 5.
A special thanks to Jenson who tried to help me with getting back the passport and boarding pass I thought I have left on the connecting flight. I thought Jenson was taking a break. Regardless of having a break, he helped me to take a long walk back to the bay. Later on, I found out my passport was actually in my another jacket’s pocket. I didn’t have a chance to say thank you to Jenson for his prompt help because it rushed to catch another flight.
When I went through customs I had a problem with the vinegar bought from the duty free shop. It failed the test of explosives matter for few times. It’s ashamed I had to surrender it to security. I understand we have to be more cautious during to Iran-US war. Their patience and empathy are highly appreciated.

Hell on earth for arrivals
Hell on earth for arrivals. Imagine having a literal 1 mile walk from stepping off the plane to the Elizabeth line. E-gates are good. Taxi to stand 20 minutes. Waiting for bags 40 minutes. Endless further waiting and queues just to get the lift down to catch onward transport. Drop a bomb and start again.
