Hertz - Madison - Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) Avis 

Very good reservation experience, with an excellent phone call to assist.
The counter help at check in and drop off were smooth and efficient. Great gas mileage on the car as well. If anything perhaps a little dusty on the outside of the vehicle when I picked it up. The inside was clean and tidy

I got a quality vehicle(wasn't expecting a hybrid, but was pleasantly surprised by the Kia Niro). Excellent gas efficiency, and had wonderful pickup for a small SUV. Easy check out, easy return. The one ding(but I didn't deduct for it) was there was no one to hand the paperwork to when exiting the terminal. We left it in the car when returned in case it was needed. Sometimes it happens.

I love that fast check in and check out while still having knowledgeable desk staff to help if there is a question. The car was exactly as expected and was great!

I didn't like that being a Gold member did not make an ounce of difference. Same line and only one agent available. Besides that, she was friendly and helpful and the car was fine.

There was only one person behind the desk and many people on line. To her credit, she was cool and calm. But the wait looked long. Fortunately, she asked if anyone was a member of Hertz Gold Clib, which I was. This enabled me to show my license, get the keys and go. But for those without status, they likely didn’t love having to wait even longer while I was attended to.

No upgrade for President Circle

The gas surcharge was disturbing! I refilled prior to return.

Requested vehicle swap at pickup. No problem. Slightly annoyed by the multiple counter related charges during the process. Thinly veiled up charges in my eyes. A $45 per day rental should be just that. $45 per day plus tax. Period.

Customer service representative was alone and although very courteous, was overwhelmed. The SUV I reserved wasn’t available. He explained that all SUVs were unavailable, due to them
Being prepped.’ I had to settle for a lesser quality sedan.

There was no separate line for Gold members. I had trouble finding my vehicle.
It was not in the indicated space. There were no Hertz reps in the Garage and a Budget rep helped me find my vehicle. It should be noted that several other rental companies had numerous SUVs in their stalls.
The vehicle, a 4 door Hyundai, had a gear shit on the steering column which was difficult to operate and dangerous. There was no headspace for my 6’2” friend.

The checkin and checkout was extremely smooth. The agents at the desk were amazing. Very quick, efficient service

Upon arrival reserved vehicle wasn't ready or available, other vehicles weren't availble as well was told everything needed to be serviced before it could be rented. Had to wait a half hour to get into a vehicle. Upon dropoff location was closed which is fine, but the after hours drop off process wasn't great. Other rental agencies had after hours key drop off kiosks near the vehicle return area, Hertz has to go into the airport terminal counter and the process isn't communicated at all.

I got the car I wanted (finally lol). The pick up and drop off process was easy and quick.

I’m still waiting on somebody to contact me from my complaint escalation for my rental during our last military exercise. I was also hung up on when I was trying to ensure that the person I was talking to understood the severity of losing our next training exercise where we need about 100 rental vehicles over a 2 to 3 week. Period. I will be removing Hertz as an approved rental company for our spring iteration and other iterations moving forward.
