Howarth of London Avis 

Thank you Danny for making my day. I am a professional jazz flautist and was very upset and anxious when the top notes of my Yamaha flute stopped working. I was not sure if my embouchure had collapsed or my flute.

As I had never had the flute serviced since the day I bought it in 2003 (23 years ago), I decided the time had come to have it fully serviced and new pads fitted.

Danny at Howarth Music did the most fantastic professional flute repair and service. I didn't recognise my flute when I collected it as it looked so clean, shiny, as good as new and plays better than ever before with the top notes working perfectly.

I found Danny to be a first class flute specialist and repairer. He was so helpful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable with all the general advice and guidance he gave me on flute service, repairs and new flutes.

It is obvious that Danny loves his profession and flutes so I felt safe leaving my flute with him, trusting him to do a brilliant professional job bringing the flute back to life. I collected my flute and left the shop feeling so happy and relieved to have my flute back in such excellent perfect condition after Danny's repair and service work.

All staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks Amy for servicing my saxophone. Special thanks to Richard for clean, overhaul and full repad of my two clarinets. One a wooden Cabart and the other a 1929 metal Buescher True Tone excellent job done on both. Thank you.

I walked in a Clarinet repair and didn't expect it to be fixed in 3 hours. Once it was done, I was called to collect it. The price was reasonable.

Horrible service and bad follow up. They made mistakes but didn’t correct it. I won’t recommend this shop at all.

Excellent store, I needed a case for my alto sax and Ciaran from the store was very helpful and professional, and offered great advice, received the BAM alto case the next day , extremely well packed and all for a very competitive price, This store gets a high recommendation from me, thank you.

i put my unmarked tenor saxophone in to have a simple tab re soldered on to my saxophone, and the so called
Sax tech Scratched and left solder all over the area that my sax was repaired. when challenged he could not remember if he did it, not i didn't do it.i spoke to the person in charge but got no resolution. i might as well have taken it to a back street repairer, world class......jokers . update i also had the neck of my saxophone re corked on checking the neck when i was cleaning the saxophone i saw a dent under the small arm that lets the air in and out what a clown their repairer is. Dont take your sax there to be repaired.

Recently had the best experience ever with Howarth in london. Beth from the Oboe dept was so patient and encouraging when deciding on a new 2nd hand oboe. I didn't feel rushed and even got some great tips from her and another lovely gentleman (as new to oboe).

Appalling lack of interest in post sales customer service. I  ordered a brand new yanagisawa sax and some reeds were offered as part of the package. Unfortunately the sax arrived without the reeds.  Instead of easily resending the reeds to solve the simple problem, they refused, without giving any reason. 

Secondly, i purchased a supposedly new jody jazz metal mp.  When I received it, there were obvious signs that it was been heavily play tested.  Again their customer service refused to acknowledge that there was any issue despite having seen pictures. 

I think sometimes it is better to buy from pile 'em high faceless suppliers, than suppliers pretending to care about their customers v v
