If I could give it less I would

If I could give it less I would. I cancelled a year ago and it was ignored. They just charged me $145 9/2/26 and after requesting a refund (which they denied) I was told my account renewed on 1/9. Why would they charge me in Sept for a January bill??

The Irish Times is no longer a paper you want to read.

This is no longer objective journalism. The online version of the paper which I used to subscribe to is flooded with articles with lifestyle content and created with embeded advertising. The paper no longer holds the Irish goverment or Irish establishment to account.Look elsewere for good journalism.

Sloppy sports journalism

Your article by a Ciaran Kirk on last nights boxing contains a serious error.

See below

In the co-main event, Cork’s Callum Walsh (now 17-1) claimed a wide decision win over former European champion Tyler Denny (21-5-3) of England, with both fighters shipping early knockdowns.

Callum Walsh is UNDEFEATED at 17-0 after last nights fight.

I don’t expect a reply as my previous emails have been the same.

Undefeated in boxing is rare and sloppy journalism like this continues to plague the IT.

Poor customer service and ignored correspondence

I cancelled my Irish Times digital subscription and received an email from their loyalty team offering me a 50% discount to stay. I accepted the offer by reply email, as requested, and asked them to confirm once implemented.

They never replied. Instead of setting up the agreed discount, they simply let my account expire and cut off my access.

Reaching out with a deal, ignoring the customer's acceptance, and quietly terminating the account is completely unprofessional. I will not be subscribing again.

Be very careful taking out a digital subscription!

The IT digital subscription is auto renewed each year. I have a number of auto renewal subscriptions and each other company sends a reminder that the subscription is going to be renewed. This gives the customer the chance to decide if they want to renew or not!
Not the case with IT.
I had planned not to renew my subscription as I was not using it, preferring the Irish Independent.
When I saw the payment going through, I immediately contacted the IT, same day as the renewal date, telling them that I did not wish to renew my subscription and asking for a refund.
The IT’s only interest was in keeping my payment and they had no wish to treat their customer in a fair manner!
I found my dealings with the IT to be disingenuous to say the least and cannot recommend anybody to sign up with this company!

A matter of trust

I read this paper to be informed about ongoing national and international political and social events. While there are no perfect media, for the most part, I feel articles and reports in the IT are written with integrity and points of view are expressed honestly. And like many things in this world, you dont have to agree with everything you can trust.

Super Paper

This is a fantastic paper for a number of different reasons:
1) the writing and new coverage are excellent
2) it is centrist-leaning, but has regular contributors from the other ends of the spectrums, which I enjoy reading. I may not always agree with a lot within the opinion pieces, but it makes me think, and informs of another perspective.
3) the fact-checking and reliability is second to none
4) The podcasts are great; in particular the 'In the News' and 'political' podcasts. Fantastic.
5) It is a lot less doom and gloom than other outlets.
6) It also provides a nice quantity of news. I prefer to read news early in the day, so continual updates a la the Guardian is too overbearing. It's nice to have reliable news that has been obtained and concisely put together whilst remaining accurate - the job of a paper.
7) It's a very reasonable subscriptions price
Keep up the great work

I contacted the Irish Times to put an engagement announcement in the paper for my employer. I was assisted by Vera Kennedy and Joanne Sheehan. I had to make a last minute change to the announcement and Vera was so very kind and helped me in amending the announcement. Both Vera and Joanne gave me a. 5 star customer service and went out of their way to assist me. Thank you very much. You are both amazing.

You have to call them to unsubscribe

You have to call them to unsubscribe.
That should not be a thing ANYWHERE.

Every title that was emailed to me was the depressing type of news you'd see on TV, or something useless about the leaving cert or Irish economy like landlords.

Positively the worst news-type subscription I've ever signed up for.

I can't imagine anyone making these headlines and titles to send out is happy either.

Over Priced bad reporting

Would not buy this paper.
Absolute bad reporting. And most news days old,
They obviously get their news from newspapers in Britain and mainland Europe.

Middle class nonsense

Middle class nonsense. I remember when this publication actually wrote about pertinent issues with reference to actual material struggles experienced by people. Obsessed with restaurant reviews and social media. A race to the bottom in competition with the Daily Mail. Drivel.

Terrible experience!!!to set up home delivery online

Tried to set up home delivery online. Paid and was promised delivery would start about 4 days later. This changed to another 4 days out. Meanwhile they had taken well over 2 months payment from my credit card. Cancelled the subscription, took them 2 weeks and many emails and phone calls to finally give me refund in full. Also they delivered the paper for 3 days after the cancellation. This was despite my ringing and emailing them to tell them not to deliver as I would be away. Had to get neighbour to remove paper which was left sticking out of letterbox advertising that my home was empty. Avoid the home delivery at all costs. Truly terrible experience dealing with it.

Cannot cancel my subscription

I have now called the IT four times this morning in an attempt to both have my subscription cancelled and the cancellation confirmed. So far I have been promised a call-back and a confirmatory email: neither has happened.

Overpriced and paywalled.

Overpriced and paywalled.
Imagine a world where the Irish times costs more than the New York times? Gutter journalism and click baiting vs quality reportage. Buying out free to access RIP.ie to add on hefty charges doesn't bode well either.

The reporting is good and journalism is…

The reporting is good and journalism is essential for developing democratic purposes, but the delivery service is dire.

When you request something not to be delivered, they send it to you and then when you don't want it you get loads of it. It's a no win situation.

What a disgrace!

What a disgrace. "Far right" is how you describe Irish protesting against a mass stabbing of children and women.
Ah, but when BLM does it, it is "peaceful protest" and the "voice of the unheard".
SHAME ON YOU.
