This company is full of bullies , rude and unhelpful staff. Failing to follow legislation and advising me they are not regulated by an obudsman.
I have started complaint- also with local authority who have employed these inept people, contacted CIVEA, who they ARE REGULATED by, and also seeking legal advice as I feel they contributed to my mother in laws death.
Under the regulated fit and proper persons if you feel they have acted wrongly, you can contact the court which issued their license. I have done this.
Their agents act like bullies, yet fail with their lies, and yes proff of this has gone to CIVEA, Teignbridge Council and the courts who issued their license.
I have read previous reviews regarding this company and shocked they are still allowed to continue operating, considering deaths and suicide attempts. Come on CIVEA what are you playing at letting these little men act like they have the power of god, and allowing their agents to believe GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 does not apply to them and above the law!
Abuse is abuse especially for a pensioner which you contributed to her death, with their bullying antics.

Absolutely the worst company I've ever had to deal with. The first time I heard of this company is having my car clamped that I immediately removed then phoned the so called agent who then proceeded to lie and tell me he could mark my car as stolen and they have access to the anpr cameras there virtually everywhere in Birmingham they do not they do have anpr cameras on there vans I parked my car two roads away from my home a short walk but hidden unless you know the area. They will keep coming at you lie and put charges on saying they have been to your house add fees at will you absolutely cannot deal with this company and I feel sorry for whoever gets caught in there trap. Do not let them in your house do not sign anything thankfully I legally fought them and they didn't get a penny from me but took 2 months of parking my car else where so they wouldn't clamp or remove. The agents are aggressive and won't take any situation into account. GOOD LUCK

I work 3 jobs not many hours and have 3 kids one which I do not even get money for and they expect 250 payment when I only earn 500 a month its disgusting. Contact your council first! A vile company that profits from vulnerability
If you’ve received a letter from Jacobs about council tax debt, stop. Do not call them. Do not open the door. Speak to your council directly first.
The word “enforcement” in their title is doing a lot of heavy lifting. As if ignoring their letter will result in a commando team abseiling down your building and crashing through the windows. They very quickly got enforced back into their little box after I spoke to the council.
Jacobs are a weird choice to be contracted by councils (who *should* have a duty of care prioritised to support its constituents), a craven, faceless company. They add their own fees on top of whatever you owe — fees that in many cases can be avoided entirely if you contact the council before enforcement begins.
They are a just a wildly self-aggrandising debt collection company — not a special forces unit. The shouty all-caps boomer/Trump language is their product. They deserve your pity more than your fear. I’d rather scrape my teeth down a brick wall for the rest of my life than work for a company like this.
My experience of their staff was exactly what hundreds of other reviews suggest: dismissive, contemptuous, and utterly lacking in understanding.
When I explained my situation, I was met with condescending questions from an imperious, disdainful sounding kid.
Their online portal was broken when I tried to make a payment. They ignore emails but it’s interesting that they pick the phone up instantly to scold the plebs who dared to have a disability, have make an admin error, moved house — whatever reason you NEEDED to call them IMMEDIATELY to bend the knee, they do not care.
If your debt is council tax, you have options. Contact your council directly. Ask for a payment arrangement. Seek advice from Citizens Advice or National Debtline (0808 808 4000) before engaging with any enforcement agent. You have rights. Jacobs’ business model depends on you not knowing them.
They are not the last word. They are not the council. You have more power than they want you to believe.

Everybody has right to change collection agencies. Citizens advice are very helpful with this. Or I would suggest contacting the company the debt came from, tell them how badly you're being treated by these braindead meatheads and ask if they will accept a payment plan that you can afford. It was what I did and they called jacobs for me and cancelled it from them.

Got the balance down from nearly 2k to now as few hundred quid did not have a payment yesterday but have offered it to be Friday the same week!!! It has been refused and request in full and now they are adding charges! Absolutely con men .......explained have 3 kids to look after aswell as other bills and creditors and they had no empathy or understanding on anything.

Appalling company! I received a parking fine that I appealed and heard nothing back from until one of Jacob’s enforcement officer came to hand deliver a notice a year later. He then returned the following week at 6.20am, demanding hundreds of pounds by the end the day. He refused to even discuss a payment plan with me and his only solution was “youv got friends and family havnt you”. £235 is added every time they visit your property amongst other charges so my £100 parking fine is now £660. The Arrogant, rude, vile man even threatened to come in my house if I left a door unlocked to remove my goods.

A disgusting bully pushed past me and into my property, as I opened the door.He told lie after lie and put my daughters car keys in his pocket. He actually forced me to pay over £600 to get my daughter’s keys back! I have informed my bank and they were horrified.

Honestly if I could give less I would. Never have I spoken to anyone as unhelpful as Jacobs, especially the agent Mr Murphy. Tried to explain how the situation came to be, but was repeatedly told I was a liar, despite saying I could prove everything, told I was using my kids as a defence and wouldn't listen to anything. Tried to offer a solution but immediately shut down and made to feel worse.
This is after trying to ring him 3 times personally, and leaving 2 messages with the office for immediate calls back and emailed for call backs too all on the same day. No communication at all then expected to be spoken to like that when I could finally get hold of him, then hung up on.
Completely ridiculous approach, it's no wonder other reviews have echoed this.
If this is a representation of the company, I would certainly take a look at exactly who's doing what.
Both He and the company have no personable skills or any ounce of empathy, understanding or reasoning at all, and seriously need a training session on people skills and mental health.

I contacted this company to try to deal with a matter cooperatively. Unfortunately, my experience was very poor.
The agent I spoke to was rude and dismissive, and when I switched to online chat to keep communication in writing, I was met with repeated copy-and-paste responses that did not address my questions. Requests for basic information and documentation were ignored, with the agent simply stating that the case was “allocated to an enforcement agent” and refusing to engage further.
This approach felt intentionally obstructive and unnecessarily stressful. I was willing to communicate and resolve the issue, but the lack of professionalism, transparency, and meaningful responses made that very difficult.
I would advise others to keep everything in writing and retain records of all interactions.

Jacobs Enforcement use aggressive and intimidating tactics. My advice to anyone dealing with them: hide valuables, keep doors locked, and do not let them in or engage at the door.
They act hard and rude, and they will not agree to reasonable payment plans directly. The only way I was able to make progress was through Citizens Advice, who helped set up a smaller, affordable payment plan on my behalf.
Jacobs refused at first, but eventually they had no choice but to accept it. Be aware of their tactics and get independent advice before dealing with them.

absolutely appalling company, their staff must get some sort of kick out of bullying people. While the rest of the world has learned to be compassionate, these 'people' definetely have not.
I recieved a car related fine, which was sent to my old address through no fault of my own. This was explained 4 times to different Jacobs agent, and although i advised i have multiple mental health struggles, and that this was causing me severe anxiety, they seemed to take delight in goading me that a bailiff was coming to my house to take my belongings.
