After being let down by my usual go to supplier I needed to find someone new. Extremely happy I made John Hughes the first call in my search. Amazing, friendly and knowledgeable service. I was looking for a good quality vinyl flooring for my hallway. Found exactly what I was looking for and received a first class service. My previous supplier had messed me about for two months. Darren came to my home and quoted on the same day I met him. The job was completed one week later by very polite and courteous fitters. Looks fab. Would have no hesitation recommending the team to all my family and friends, and would go straight back for any future flooring requirements I may have.

Absolutely excellent service from really kind and friendly people. Darren was so helpful in choosing the right carpet and extremely kind when we had to delay the fitting. The fitters were both excellent too, really kind and friendly guys. They did a great job and the carpets look brilliant! We would highly recommend this company.

We were given excellent guidance during our initial visit to the shop and during Darren's vist to measure up at our bungalow. The fitters did a superb job and were helpful, courteous and provided great advice on the fitting of our integrated mat at the front door. I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend this company for you flooring needs.

Visited John Hughes as my parents have used the shop for 25+ years for their carpets. The standard and customer service is still faultless all that time on with Darren taking over from his dad. Friendly and helpful from visiting in the shop to coming and measuring up at my house. Helped me find the perfect carpet that will be long wearing and 10/10 quality wool. The fitters were also friendly and made a perfect job of my living room, stairs and landing. I’m so pleased with the finish and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

John Hughes carpets were excellent from start to finish. I went into the shop and was given samples to take away. The home visit to discuss what I wanted was personal and helpful.
When the carpets were fitted the service was excellent and we are thrilled with the two beautiful bedroom carpets we now have.
I will be back again and would highly recommend them.

We purchased 2 new carpets a few weeks ago. The service from Darren was first class, the quality of the carpets is second to none and the fitters were very professional, respectful and their quality of work unquestionable.
We purchased a carpet from John Hughes in 2017 and were extremely pleased with the quality of the carpet and service we received both in the shop and from the fitters. The carpet is still as good as new 7 years later which is testament to the quality of John Hughes Carpets.

Such a great experience, can't thank Darren and the shop enough for helping me out when I needed to get new carpets fitted very quick at my new house. Darren made it happen in 4 days, then also helped me out when I needed laminate floor too and quickly got it and delivered it to my house. Excellent service. Darren has been so helpful, and the lady in the shop who answers the phone was very friendly and helpful. Thanks so much! Would recommend to anyone.

Cannot praise this company enough, from front of office to the owner to the fitters. As there were beds to move around and limited space, plus I decided to paint skirtings and door frames prior to fitting, I requested that 5 visits be made over a period of time to help me out. No problem, just let them know when I was ready and they would fit me in accordingly. Great service, and top notch fitters as well. Good lads who call to let you know they are on the way, and then who simply crack on and get the job done. For any future carpets there is only one port of call for my wife and I. A five star review for a five star company. Happy days!!!

I can’t believe how rude and ignorant the man in this shop is. The first time I went in I explained I wanted some cheaper carpets for the children’s rooms as they would get messed up anyway, and more expensive ones for the hallway and stairs. He said ‘I don’t do cheap carpets’ and I said that’s fine, but maybe you could do the hallway and stairs? The second time I went back despite there being no one in the shop he completely ignored me. I politely asked him about if he had any harder wearing synthetic carpets for the hallway and living room, as I explained I am allergic to wool. He said that he could not recommend any synthetic carpets as they aren’t hard wearing. I explained that I would accept this, but I really needed a synthetic one due to my allergy. He refused to allow me to purchase a synthetic carpet, I think he thought I was making my allergy up. Would he like to have an itchy rash every time he walks/sits on his carpet?!!! He was simply so rude and ignorant of my problem. He then again started going on about the carpets not being cheap and I explained I was perfectly happy to pay the going price for the hallway and living room carpets. I am a professional and have a good job, however he was treating me like complete dirt. I would not recommend him to any of my friends or colleagues. A shop keeper should make the customer feel valued and he certainly didn’t! I have never witnessed such disgusting treatment of a customer!

We have had several quality carpets fitted by John Hughes (the.first time 48 years ago as Carol Aston Carpets!). Over the years we've had three hall/stairs/landings fitted including the one just done through Darren his son who now runs the business. Excellent service as always, and at a reasonable price. However, I must say the quality of the fitting this time surpassed even the previous high standards. The eye for detail shown by the fitters was exceptional and no careless cut marks on newly painted skirting boards!

We decided to purchase some quality carpets and for the first time visited John Hughes Showroom in Rotherham which had a vast range of carpets at a variety of competitive prices. We were warmly welcomed and given impartial non pressured but professional advice. Darren visited, measured and provided a wealth of constructive information about different carpets, their qualities, wear and durability. The use of an app checked stock and we efficiently placed our order. The carpet arrived and was fitted today. Fitters were polite, respectful of the property and completed an excellent job. Delighted and will use the company again. Thank you.
