For quite a few years now I have been specialising as a photographer for weddings in Derbyshire, Sheffield and some a lot further afield. It’s such a buzz and over 500 weddings later I’m even more enthusiastic about being a wedding photographer than ever. With commissions ranging from houses in the hills of Tuscany to landscapes in Maine and Vermont, from English stately homes to industry in Sheffield, I’ve been in photography and photographic processing all my working life. Even at school during the school holidays I worked in the processing lab. Having spent my entire career in photography and being the fourth generation of the family to do so, I definitely have photography running through my veins, as did my dad, and his dad and, yes, his dad before him. It all goes way back to 1870 with The Sheffield Photo Company. I started independently some years back, originally also doing commercial and travel photography, but very soon realised just how much I loved wedding photography and the people side of things. I’ve also spent time in the professional laboratory environment with film processing and colour and black & white hand printing. That’s why I’m as passionate about the processing side as I am about the photography itself. Image quality is of great importance to me. For your peace of mind I am a qualified member of the The Guild of Professional Photographers.

Fascinating Day!

I first met John at a friends’ wedding. I was really impressed at his skill & professionalism but mainly by his amazing people skills. After a good conversation about photography I decided to book a course with him.
I was not disappointed. In the morning we covered a lot of technical stuff about the use of a camera and how to control the light.
In the afternoon we went out to Longshaw with our cameras and had a brilliant couple of hours taking pictures. I learned so much! More importantly, my enthusiasm’s been fired and I am getting enormous pleasure from this fascinating hobby

I Was over the Moon To Go on a…

I Was over the Moon To Go on a Photography Course with John Would Recommend John to anyone, he was absolutely brilliant at Teaching me to get better with my camera and walked me through all the settings on it he was very patient and understanding with me, I really enjoyed the part we stopped and snapped a few shots of the ducklings on the water and I will forever be grateful towards John for the best photography experience anyone could ask for ,my photos are much more clearer and better quality ever since going on this photography course john is very down to earth, and very understanding. Best photography day In the world 🙂

Amazing experience! 10/10 would recommend

John helped me with my engagement photography. He was very kind and professional. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who's looking for an experienced and skillful photographer. He helped me get some great pictures despite the weather being challenging. Couldn't really ask for anything more! Perfect experience :)
