I canceled my account and initiated account deletion before the renewal date, which should reasonably stop any future billing. My account was confirmed as scheduled for deletion, yet I was still charged afterward.
When I contacted the company, they claimed that “account deletion” and “subscription cancellation” are separate, which is misleading from a consumer standpoint. A reasonable person would assume deleting their account stops all future charges.
This creates a non-transparent and deceptive billing process where customers believe they’ve canceled, but are still billed anyway.
I attempted to resolve this directly, but they refused to issue a refund. I have since had to dispute the charge with my bank and file complaints with regulatory agencies.
If you use this service, be very careful—simply deleting your account may not stop them from continuing to charge you.
